When we were watching the game, we saw EVER SINGLE TIME the got the ball behind the line he would stutter step. He never just went forward. Every single time, he would fiddle around and take extra steps before picking a direction. It was so frustrating! Especially on the goal line. Can't do that! He's young so hoping he gets better at this.
The Secondary they have playing now is your Secondary for the next few years. Ward will walk in FA leaviyouthe starters as Lenoire, Green, Mustapha, and Brown. They may pick up a Nickle somewhere, but I wouldn't expect much more.
@samuelhonable5784 The problem is you need the right type of lineman to fit Shanahan's scheme. You gotta have linemen who have really good lateral movement and quickness for all of the pulling employed in the Zone scheme Shanahan runs. The problem is that those types of players are a bit more difficult to find (good ones, at least) Another problem is that they usually aren't as good in pass pro as they are in run blocking. Shanahan has had a very effective run game by and large until this year. Now, he doesn't have that "1 cut" back, so his run game is suffering, and the linemen he has are better at run blocking, so the pass pro isn't holding up neither. CMC returning may help at some point, but it won't make too much of a difference until, or if he plays near the level he played at last season. Either way, it will take him several games to get back up to speed.
Kreug..can we stop with boasting about what city a player is from or what college? That matters 0% when we have a sample size in the NFL of several years. Doesn’t their production in NFL matter more than a scouting report from 3-5 (or more) years ago in college or their accolades in high school? Who cares where they are from. Numerous local boys have been terrible on the 49ers. I’d bet most of our HOFs and elite players are NOT locals. That is so bizarre that you take that approach all the time. Just some feedback. Better to just focus on their sample size in NFL and feedback from NFL coaches, etc.
