Love this! Will feature it on my channel when I get a moment. One feature suggestion would perhaps to take it a further step further and organise into groups (i.e. drums, fx, etc) but otherwise brilliant for working with remix stems.

@@markusschloesser I am looking at the api (LOM) documentation right now. I see that I can get information like whether it's grouped or if it's a Group Track, but I can't actually set any of that information. I would love to be wrong though so let me know if I am missing something.

Amazing. I often create a sketch track in Maschine and import the stem loops into Ableton. It always takes me a considerable amount of time grouping tracks and moving them around. This will be a godsend.
im using 'auto track colors' by Live workflow tools, which works ok.. but it's annoying because you have to create a template to store the colors so it remembers with every new project. Which I never do. So I have to re-do everything every project...And you can't select every color available... Having a separate save file is a great idea. Might have to grab this one!
I was working on my own version of ATC that fixed the issues other people had with it, I’m not sure there’s much point now 😂! The only advantage I can see is that mine would be automatic.
Fantastic work. Do you think you could create a plugin that will remove/delete all deactivated audio and midi clips from arrangement view? I haven't been able to see anything do this in Ableton. Apparently Matt Zo had one in the past but it is no longer for sale.
I'm not sure I would create a separate plugin for it, but I could see it as a potential feature in a version 2 of this plugin. Not sure when I will get around to that yet, but I added it to my notes for the future!

Unfortunately, Ableton doesn't allow Max plugins to access and edit audio like that. However, multiple people have asked about something similar so I'm definitely thinking about how that could be accomplished via other strategies at some point.
Crap. after looking at the requirements I wont be able to use it. Im still running a version of OSX on an old macpro. I wont be able to update my machine high enough to use this remarkable tool. 😢

Hey! Unfortunately, it never scans the actual audio or midi and there isn't a great way to access that unless there is plugin on each track. I am not going to say it's impossible, but I don't think it's in the scope of this plugin. This is good to know though and I am writing it down for future reference!
I have been waiting for access to the Live 12 beta to figure that out. Most of it should just work, but it may require a small update to account for any small changes.
i'm suere you have mentioned this somewhere, but whenever i go to save it says "no file path given" ... but i made a folder to make sort files? any help would be appreciated
hey @squashedout are you getting a pop-up window that asks for a place to save the file? Also, the support email is on the product page under compatibility notes. It may be a better place to resolve your issues if you need to send screenshots, etc.
Alright I checked, so it's technically possible, but a little clunky since you can only expand the drum racks like tracks in session view. Coloring coding and labeling doesn't seem terrible, but moving them would be quite tricky. I'll have to think about if there is a way to implement that well. Glad you brought this up, drum racks are definitely on my radar for any improvements now.
Hello is it working on Live 12 last version? since the refund is not certain, need to be sure... And other question are you stay in dev on this one? Updates? etc... sorry for this kind of asking but I've buy a couple of stuff for live not working anymore, don't really want to have this kind of experience again...
@lookmomonlycomputer I did full test when Live 12 came out, everything still worked but some of the buttons were a little darker. As for updates, I am hesitant to give a firm answer, this plugin has not even come close to the cost the it took to develop. However, I do think about the longevity of my products and how I might keep them alive even if I can't support them anymore. If it helps, I am planning on at least one more major update to it, not sure when it will come though. Hope that helps even though it's a little vague.

Also, I could be misunderstanding entirely, so please help me understand :) How would I specify some that would match anything that matches this regex: ((Vocals.*|.*Vocal.*)(.*_Sub$|.*_Layer$|.*_FX$|.*_Processing$)) in "Keywords to Match". This will match any track that begins with "Vocal" OR has "Vocal" in the middle of it AND that ends in "_Sub" OR "_Layer" OR "_FX" OR "_Harmony" in 'auto track colors' by Live Workflow Tools and I'm unhappy with it because I should have to explain regexes to people that I'm collaborating with. The JSON config file is INCREDIBLE! I purchased this a few minutes ago and just want to make sure I can jump right in and start trying to port over my settings from 'auto track colors' Let me know and thanks for your work on this!

I am working with a much more experienced friend of mine on a DnB track and we are each other's "firsts" (i.e. first collaborators) 😝 I am super organized and, because I'm still at the beginning of my production journey, I am getting lost in this track that we are making because he is used to just dropping things from splice (without renaming them) and using the standard auto-incrementing track names with maybe the synth / sample / device name in it (e.g "serum", "kontakt", "vital") and is able to navigate his tracks because A) he's more experienced and B) because he is just used to it that way. I'm like 🤯😭when I look at the track names that are like "# PMEX_Build_Up_Loop_150_Snare_18 [2024-02-26 203727]" 😂. We enjoy working together and I'd like to keep collaborating, but it's unsustainable to expect each other to basically know what everything is without diving into each track individually and dissecting them. I'm trying to figure out a way that I can ensure that the auto-renamed track names are intuitive without being too generic so that you have a bunch of tracks with the same name? @@christopherlicata6617 In that situation, I think you both just have to commit to cleaning up after yourselves the best you can so the other can figure out what's going on. Having a good system to keep a consistent naming is a pro move for sure. I would also add, it's okay to let it be messy sometimes. Specifically, in the more of the play and creation phase, it's just part of the process. At some point, the mess gets in the way though and you got to clean it up. I like your sorting system. I can see why you were curious about doing some of those more complex matches now. I am going to bookmark your blog post for future reference!
@@trevorbeingtrevor the real issue about max4live plugins is, it's impossible to test them so i've given a try and pay many times and I've been disapointed by some, so now when the price is more than 10 euros, I'm little bit scared about the impossibility to be refund after buying it, don't say your plug will be in this case, but ... the max4live game is a little bit random...

For something that you might potentially use for years to come, and saves you possibly hours upon hours in the long run, i'd say 15 bucks is a steal
