Hot Round Bale In A Cold Barn - Checking The Temperature!

Got a high moisture round bale in our barn. Is it hot or cold and safe? We check the temperature and moisture - video shows it all.

I don't have a barn to store my round bales in, but I don't know of many that I've had to heat up. Like you, I would be concerned about the bales heating in a barn.

I save windrows next to the woods that I suspect of being tough for the last bale. Then instead of wrapping it I kick it out in the pasture and let the cows have it. I realize that's an option you don't have.

Thanks! I’ve got a few ideas on dealing with these round bales, potential storage inside and out vs time and cost. I’ll be making videos on this as we get into hay season. Happy New Year… 👍
