Cute wabbit! I'm thinking about leaving a gap on the flower stem under the mouth, to perhaps make it look more like the rabbit holding the stem. By the way, I just finished a doodle bird that turned out so happy and cheerful that I put it in an 8" square frame. I decided to make a group to decorate the walls of my work area. Rabbit will be next, then I'm going to try the gnomes. Your videos are so easy to follow and encouraging. Thanks, Dawn!

Hi there! I usually use what's called a canvas board/panel. They are designed for acrylic or oil paints, but I use the back to tape my paper too. The back is smooth. I like them because they are lightweight and easily portable and inexpensive. You can usually find them at any art store, Amazon or other online art & craft stores. Search for canvas board or canvas panel. You can also use any fairly solid board like surface. I've used class cutting boards, clip boards, plexiglass - anything like that will work.
All of the brushes I use are watercolor brushes. They are designed specifically for watercolor. You'll see various brush manufacturers because it took me a long time to find the brushes I loved. This video is from 2 yrs ago. I'm currently trying in love with Grabie & Nfinity Arts brushes. The pens in this video are super fine point sharpies.
Hi! Whimsical means playful, quaint, unusual or unpredictable. In art, it''s often used to describe art that is more kidlike, cute and fun. More fanciful than realistic.😁😁
Hi Deanna! I talk about taping quite a bit in some of my earlier videos. Essentially, the tape helps keep the paper from buckling & warping so much when you paint. Adding water to paper inherently makes the paper do funny things - tape helps lessen that. You can tape it to any hard surface. I often use a glass cutting board or canvas boards. I like both because they let me move the painting around easily, but you can use wood, plastic, plexiglass, etc. Any hard surface. I like the canvas boards because you can buy them fairly inexpensively. I tape to the back of them (tape doesn't stick to the fronts well). You can usually find canvas boards at any art store or online - I just get cheap ones for this purpose & you can use them over & over. I don't tape if I'm using very little water, but that's rare for me. Hope that helps! Happy to help if you need more info.💜

It is so light it's hard to see at the beginnung, but got easier to see towards the end after outlining a darker color. I like learning to draw.

To what surface (board) do you use to mount your watercolor paper and where can I get one?
Hi there! I usually use what's called a canvas board/panel. They are designed for acrylic or oil paints, but I use the back to tape my paper too. The back is smooth. I like them because they are lightweight and easily portable and inexpensive. You can usually find them at any art store, Amazon or other online art & craft stores. Search for canvas board or canvas panel. You can also use any fairly solid board like surface. I've used class cutting boards, clip boards, plexiglass - anything like that will work.
Do you ever use watercolor brushes? Or what are those pens you use?
All of the brushes I use are watercolor brushes. They are designed specifically for watercolor. You'll see various brush manufacturers because it took me a long time to find the brushes I loved. This video is from 2 yrs ago. I'm currently trying in love with Grabie & Nfinity Arts brushes. The pens in this video are super fine point sharpies.

Can I ask why you tape the page down and what to please?
Hi Deanna! I talk about taping quite a bit in some of my earlier videos. Essentially, the tape helps keep the paper from buckling & warping so much when you paint. Adding water to paper inherently makes the paper do funny things - tape helps lessen that. You can tape it to any hard surface. I often use a glass cutting board or canvas boards. I like both because they let me move the painting around easily, but you can use wood, plastic, plexiglass, etc. Any hard surface. I like the canvas boards because you can buy them fairly inexpensively. I tape to the back of them (tape doesn't stick to the fronts well). You can usually find canvas boards at any art store or online - I just get cheap ones for this purpose & you can use them over & over.
I don't tape if I'm using very little water, but that's rare for me. Hope that helps! Happy to help if you need more info.💜
