Kinda unrelated but do you know if they will ever fix the tower of jewls lights? I know it got destroyed in a bad hail storm and they haven't fixed it. I'm sure it takes a lot of time and money but I love those lights
@@Ifailedbeforeitstarted Honestly, I’m not sure. I’ve heard that they’ve been trying to get it lit up again recently but I’m not sure how much truth is there. Most of the bulbs did break in a hailstorm a few years ago, I want to say back in 2017. The tower of jewels is in such bad shape and it makes me pretty sad. I really miss when it almost fully lit up as a kid, with all of those bright colors! I used to love seeing that tower all lit up on summer nights, seeing it from I-70 when not going to the park as well! I’m sure that repairing the walls, repainting, and replacing the lights on the tower of jewels would cost thousands if not millions to do. Once they get Cyclone and Hurricane back up and running I hope they give it some much needed love!
@MisterTwister1964 I'm pretty sure when dragon hurricane and cylone are all open lakeside will shift its focus to making the part neater. Like fixing the tower repainting some old buildings getting rid of some weird junk and maybe just maybe get rid of the speedway. The last one might be a stretch but I hate seeing it's grand stands rotting from the new coaster. Part of it actually collapsed recently so I hope they get that sorted out.
@@Ifailedbeforeitstarted They may do all of that eventually, but definitely not in one year or one off season. Doing all of that could take ten years or more with their current maintenance crew and budget. If they decide to do any of it. Dragon is very unlikely to come back, but you never know. I thought Heart Flip and Roll-O-Plane wouldn’t come back but they did. They’re always in the process of making the park neater. Repairs are done weekly here and there each year. They’ve done a decent amount of painting and light replacement this year, but I’d definitely like to see more. Specifically getting the Wild Chipmunk neon lettering on the round sign lit again, the lights on Satellite’s billboard sign lit back up, Rock-O-Plane’s sign neon working again, and of course the tower lights. All of those are reasonable expectations except the tower. Getting the tower restored will take so much time and money to do that it’s unreasonable to expect them to get it done in a year or less. That’s the sort of project that takes years and years to get done. That’s if they ever even get it done. As for decluttering the junk area by the speedway, that probably won’t happen until the park closes or is sold. That’s been building up for decades and the owners keep everything they buy. It doesn’t look remotely good, especially from the train, but it’s fairly harmless otherwise. Demolishing the speedway stands won’t be easy because I’ve heard they’re covered in lead paint, which makes sense given half of those stands are from the early 1900’s with the other half being from 1938. Plus there’s a lot to deal with inside the speedway too, not only getting rid of random junk but removing the track itself. That’s another project that could cost thousands if not millions to deal with and they just don’t have that kind of money unfortunately. I really wish sometimes they had the budget and crew to do some of these things quicker and better, but it is what it is. I’m just happy that they’re still alive, continue doing things here and there, and try their best to keep their rides running rather than giving up on all of them.
@@MisterTwister1964 Every time I go to lakeside (twice month) I like to chat with the owners daughter I forgot her name but it's not rhoda anyway when I chat with her she normally agrees with everything I say about fixing things up and how she should approach it. She said she wants to clear up that junky area near the speedway soon and as for the tower of jewels (I bring this up every time) I talk about the lights and repairing them she said she definitely is going to at some point but doesn't really know how that's going to go. I genuinely think lakeside should be repaired and decently restored 10 years. Even if lakeside goes back to how it was in the time period of (2000 to 2010) I'd be happy. But I'd like to see it like it was in the 80's most people in Colorado truly don't care about how historical it is and how it should be supported. This may sound crazy but at some point I would like to buy lakeside and return it to how it was like in the 80's. I would need to be a muilti millionaire to buy the place out and I don't know if I could truly do it but I would like to. Sorry for the little rant I just love lakeside so much and care about it deeply and I can't wait to work there in a couple years.
@@FunTownUS Yeah it’s interesting how Roll-O-Plane is pretty much the only ride at Lakeside to have moved, especially as often as it has. I’ve compiled a sort of history of where it was and when, and it’s interesting to me how it’s been in several locations over the decades. It’s a topic that I may consider covering in a video once I have more time on my hands!

@@FunTownUS I can agree with what your saying. Most people dont care about the history and how historical it is and thats really a shame...
Funny how they moved this ride and put the drop tower were it was dont know why but they did cool little fact

There is another permanent Roll o plane at sylvan beach in New York
Thank you for reminding me! I always forget about that one!
