Just like many others, I have only discovered this group of beautiful young ladies and their wonderful music this week. I was at a used record store and the cashier put a Warpaint LP on the stores sound system. That's what I took home.

This song reminds me of Polly by Nirvana - “you hurt yourself”, and Marlene on the Wall by Susanne Vega. Googled it and it turns out Undertow is the name of a Susanne Vega album.

"Undertow" is the title of songs used by many others, namely progressive rock from the likes of Genesis and Pain of Salvation.

I remember being 13 and sitting on my back porch with my mom. It was late spring and finally hot out. We were drinking tea and listening to this. Almost 10 years ago, and my heart aches for that time so bad. Also finding out that Jenny and Shannyn are both part filipina makes it more special bc my mother and I are filipina. This is so near and dear to me. When life is hard, I go to that memory and it's a safe place for me.

She’s one of the band members sister and a 90s actress :)
Shannyn is Jenny Lee's sister. She was original drummer for the band until acting career kept her too busy.
This band is all about the Bassist and the Lead guitarist. vocal harmony. any drummer would be a nice compliment to all of them

For me there is nothing not to understand in this video. Childhood memories, that age when childhood ends. You fall in love but are not so sure what to do about it. It just seems like very strange form of friendship and attraction. Beautiful strong emotions, but our age places us far from that, on the other side of the door. We can have it just like a memory and understand it when we see other kids going through something similar. Like in this video.
I think it's about two childhood friends who start developing romantic feelings for each other as they get older and all the confusion and emotion that comes from that

I saw this beautiful band open for Band of Horses in Kansas City.They were one of three opening bands that night,and were my favorite of the three.Kudos to those who noticed the similarities to Nirvana's "Polly". I wish I could remember the name of the song(seeing them live was my first exposure to this band),but Emily threw in a line from Madonna's "Get Into The Groove" toward the end.I would love to see them again.Especially if it were the same venue as Lorde.

Songs should not be cut just to fit it into a particular time frame determined by video production teams. This is such a great song and it really ruins it to have nice parts taken out just to make it shorter for the video.
