1. Biases are fine in competition as long as all the comps don’t have the same bias. Tennis comps using different floors (French open clay, Wimbledon grass, ect…)gives certain players advantages based off their strengths. CrossFit comps should be no different. 2. If NA does not dominate the comp, they should feel embarrassed. 3. Boz. Sure the games he was in charge of had its flaws but Dave has yet to program a perfect games. Cannot judge Boz’s ability on 1 year.
What we think grid sounds like. Watch grid (not actually recommending you put yourself through this), understand it, then watch socal and compare. It sounds like you’re assuming a whoooooole heap in this comment
@@CoffeePodsAndWods no assumptions - just reflecting on the interaction you had on the show. How you described SoCal TYR was exactly what Nathan Bird was essentially reacting against. If it really will be that drastically different then we missed an opportunity to clarify that on the show. Also, every time someone disses Grid JasonCFmedia sheds a single tear. #beKind
The answers regarding the TYR Cup prove the point - no one could care less about this competition. "Is this the future of team competition" - no. A million times no. No one cares, not even those taking part.
@@CoffeePodsAndWods just an honest review/opinion of one Crossfit fan. And, actually furthering the conversation a little, the contestants all reflected that some how CrossFit official still holds the sway some how. That simply introducing something with prize money and names does not equal (or entitle) interest from fans 🤷🏼♂
@@POPoftheTOPSpod nobody’s entitled to anything. I’m just saying when a competition that’s been around as long as Wodapalooza starts something that hasn’t been done maybe the benefit of the doubt could be afforded. As regards grid, grid has a starting team with substitutes and works through four quadrants during the matches. I think I did a fine job explaining the format of socal with the variations of teams and numbers taking to the floor that reflect all historical CrossFit events. What I know of it is what Adrian said - it seems cool, it’s a cool format and might struggle with athletes due to branding but if it succeeds would be a cool addition to the off season.
@@CoffeePodsAndWods you did do a good job of describing it. I shouldn't project my own apathy on to others, but I think that was reflected in all 3 contestants. I would personally prefer something along the lines of training camps competing against one another. Although I imagine that would be next to impossible to pull off/organise. You also made a good/important point re: the 'marketing plan/calendar' being thrown off by events around the games. That's valid - but I also dislike the idea of my appetite being dictated by good/bad marketing.
Adrian needs to be on more shows in the space he’s really interesting and funny dude!
Awesome show Pedro .
Angelo looks like he's auditioning for the villian part in Talladega Nights 2.
Good stuff Pedro (Theme song of Star Trek) playing in the background 😂
Good stuff! ❤
Froning! What can’t this man do?..
Tyr cup was cool

I agree, Dave is irreplaceable
Despite the programming being 10x better last year with Boz than with Dave this year
"Is it just like grid league" - "No!" (then explains something which sounds a bit like what we think grid league sounds like 😂) 🤷🏼♂🤷🏼♂🤷🏼♂

@@CoffeePodsAndWods give Grid a shot… you will be surprised how much you would enjoy it.
Thanks for the moment of silence Angelo.
Peter does he get that time back as you argued with the screen the entire time?
He would’ve won! 😂
I’d need to see a survey

With support like that for new initiatives it’s shocking we don’t have more and more unique competitions sprouting up year on year

Bottom line. Anybody programming the games needs at a minimum a L-1!
