The sub frequency nob on the left is a lowpass, not an eq. It will play frequencies below the chosen frequency and decrease the volume of those above. The sub volume right next to it increases the volume of all sub frequencies

Subwoofer frequency knob is not the same as what you showed on the equalizer.
On the equalizer, you adjusted the Q, meaning increasing the gain of a specific point of the low frequency.
On the amplifier, bass frequency knob is a low pass filter, meaning what frequencies you want to send to the subwoofer and what frequencies you want to send to the satellites. A value usually from 80Hz up to 200Hz (give or take, depends on the manufacture).
So when adjusting this knob, you adjust the cut of frequency to the subwoofer, nothing to do with gain.

    • @MrVasse3
      @MrVasse3 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@Goodmusic210 It’s very easy to find out.
Turn the knob all the way to the left and listen to some song, you should only hear the kick from the drums and some base notes coming from the subwoofer, watch also the movement of the driver, you should only see it move with the kick and the very low frequency base notes, then turn the knob all the way to the right, many more notes should be heard, the sound become more bummy and the driver will be moving in and out like crazy. Best to do it without any satellites attached. That way, you will be able to hear more notes of the song being played through the subwoofer.
If it is an equalizer, you will hear the same notes on all positions of the knob.
If it is a Q style equalizer, depending off the position of the know, a few of those notes will be more boosted. Such an equalizer usually have 3 knobs, one to choose the midpoint of the frequency, one to choose how wide or narrow the slope will be (the range of frequencies to be boosted) and one gain knob. But I have never seen a Q equalizer on such a device.
If it is a normal equalizer, (often called bass boost) you will hear almost all notes been boosted.
In both cases, all notes will be heard all the time and get boosted depending on the position of the knob.

@Goodmusic210 so it is bass boost or crossover? Want to buy one, but prefer if it will be crossover. Could you be so kind to answer.

Thank you! i always enjoy you video's. Because of your enthusiasm and passion. And bought and have many of the products you review too.
I guess for me it is just enjoyable to see what quality of sound and suprises you can get from some of these products. It exites me more then spending it all in one (expensive) amp that you should expect high performance from.
From what I see and get that the same goes for you.
For adjusting the subwoofer to the wright frequency you can do it by ear. It works too but is more difficult. The progam you used is very helpfull.
If you know the bottom frequence of your main speakers. Lets say 60hz you adjust your subwoofers crossover starting from there. (I think that would be about 10 o' clock on the frequency dial of the amp)
A little higher is advised, 70hz (something like11 o' clock) for example that way it helps the main speakers with the bottom registration. Most speakers will reach the specified bottom frequency but it is measured and sometimes not completly audible.
If you do this wright you should hardly notice the presence of your subwoofer and appear like your main speakers are actually producing the bass.
If you still notice the sound coming from the subwoofer reduce the volume until you can't locate the bass. It will be a seemless transition that way.
I hope you don't mind that I shared my thoughts and experience on this.
I will continue enjoying what comes next!!

Hi brother from another mother, from another country. Cheers 🍻. I hope you can help me. Because I have this speakers from pioneer s-ev9v and it’s amplifier is already gone. I know it’s not related on your video. But, I’m looking for an alternative amplifier. Do you have something in mind? I’ll appreciate your answer. Here’s the specs.
    It’s a 5.1 system.
This is what says on the back of each speakers.
    -100w 6ohms Front Left
    -100w 6ohms Front Right
    -100w 6ohms Surround Left
    -100w 6ohms Surround Right
    -100w 6ohms Center Surround
    -100w 6ohms Subwoofer
Someone told me about an amp with tpa3116. So I searched and found “Aiyima A9” and that’s how I got into your video. Thank you and godbless

That's about right, hear the difference, but it sounds like it's still starving for amperage on them bass notes or is the speakers choking?. Is that 4.5 amp? If it is I don't want one, wait I re-watched the video and they only gave you a 3 amp power brick 0:52 I want one if they include and supply the correct power brick. Simple math 100w divided by 24v = 4.17 minimal amperage, so 4.5a is correct when wired to 4 ohm speakers. You wont get 100w from 6 ohm speakers with this and 2 ohms will make it overheat because the heatsing can't dissipate the heat, but if you have with 5amp you may get 120w. I would open it up and remove that heatsink then use a thick copper shim with some Arctic Silver 5 and mount the shim on it and most importantly making sure it touches and presses against the top plate of the chassis, not too much pressure, just 1mm away from the top sitting flush and press down and mount the screws. This will cool it so much better and will help with the THD Total Harmonic Distortion at top end . I may even use 3 ohm speakers and I'll have better headroom at lowwer volumes without any breakup using 4 ohm speakers, this makes the amp cleaner. You should know most all of these Class D amps have 10% THD at top end so I use 50 to 75 watts or lower for best results and it will sound awesome. Make sure there's no shorts anywhere.
