    Also, usually this is mentioned in comments. No scenes in this movie are useless. The scene when she meets old classmate and then finds out he lied to her, she is shook driving and then she realizes how people can be shady and she decides to question the dealer guy again and she is more insisting then, because she now sees that he is not really honest and hiding something.

    Frances McDormand has been married to director Joel Coen since 1984

  • @myeckwaters
    @myeckwaters ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Frances McDormand (Marge) is married to one of the Coen brothers. He told her one day that they had a new script with a character that was written just for her. After she read the script, she was dumbstruck. "That character? You wrote *that* character for *me?* "
    If you pay attention to Jerry's conversations with GMAC, it appears that he has obtained financing for several cars that don't actually exist.

    Yeah that injection of comedy amidst all the gloom and doom is what the early episodes of Breaking Bad reminded me of when I first watched it. I actually got a bunch of people to start watching Breaking Bad after telling them it was "kind of like the movie Fargo". The Coen brothers are great and hopefully you'll watch their other masterpiece "The Big Lebowski". Which is even more comedic.

      ......and people get mad because you don't address comments? F**k that! Lots and lots of reaction channels NEVER address comments. EVER. Some do, some don't, whatever works for you guys. With TV shows, I think it's good NOT to look at the comments, because there is ALWAYS some dummy giving away spoilers. Even if it's just "wait until you get to the next episode!"

    • @TTM9691
      @TTM9691 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      and P.S.S. Breaking Bad has a really toxic fanbase. PAY NO ATTENTION to "Breaking Bad" comments. I love the show, love reactions for it, but I've seen ENTIRE CHANNELS vanish, or abandoned, because of Breaking Bad a-holes. Small Screen Reactions JUST got to the last five episodes of the entire series.....and ABANDONED his channel! I can give you at least four examples like that, PLUS many reactors who had to take breaks, address trolls in their videos, etc etc. Soya Miano (i think that's her name) took a 6 month break, then after she finished it said she was going to tell reactors not to touch Breaking Bad because of their troll fanbase. Ok, last comment from me, so sorry. I'm still in the friggin' intro!!!! :P

      @@InDEEPshat28 Totally. Go look up "Chemical Engineer Watches Breaking Bad" (or "Chernobyl"). She finished NEITHER show because of the Breaking Bad trolls. There was a GREAT reactor, Cass, one of the first reaction channels I ever discovered. Had a great channel all through the pandemic. Started doing Breaking Bad. Made a chance comment about feeling bad for Jesse at one point, and the s**t-storm came. LIke a plague of locusts. She took her entire channel down. Lots of channels have no problems, but sometimes it goes the opposite. Just enjo the show, and ignore the commenters for that one. Like I said, they LOVE giving spoilers, so even more reason why to avoid them. Ok, have written you fifty comments the last 24 hours! Have fun and thanks again! You guys are a GREAT couple and cool reactors!

    When you make the comment around 44:30 that the movie is 'funnier for people who don't hear that accent often' it's an iconic rural Minnesotan accent and funny for Minnesotans as well. The scene where the shoveling guy 'called it in' that you mentioned, he's telling Margie's partner in a subtle way while talking about weather that he thinks the murderer is near Moose Lake. That's probably how Margie found the dude putting him in the wood chipper, driving around there and looking for the missing car. Idk if a lot of people pick up on that while watching due to the Midwestern language.

    Ha! Absolutely hilarious movie, great reaction! I knew you'd be talking in those accents! :D They call it a thriller, but it's totally it's own one-of-a-kind, one-off movie. Same thing with their first movie, "Blood Simple", that's a great one. Their first two movies plus this one are my faves. All really funny (the second one, Raising Arizona, is a total comedy), all have a kind of surreal, cartoon regionalism, and are all about crimes gone wrong! And have great visuals. "Burn After Reading" is fun too. All of them feature Frances McDormand (although Raising Arizona she's got a smaller part, that one stars a young Nicholas Cage & Holly Hunter. ) A BLAST WATCHING THIS WITH YOU! Well worth the wait!!!!!! THANKS!

    Also great catch on "No Rough Stuff Type Deal" being the name of a Breaking Bad episode. It was in fact the finale of Season 1 with Tuco in the Junkyard. The writers of Breaking Bad confirmed that they took the name of that episode from this exact line.
    You can see how much of an influence the Coen Bros. were on Breaking Bad. Especially the early episodes. One of the hallmarks of the Coen Bros. is throwing normal boring people into crazy situations and watching the insanity that results (this movie and especially Big Lebowski are the best examples of this). That is basically Breaking Bad in a nutshell.

    The one strange bit of the movie was when the old classmate looked up Marge and met with her. People always debate exactly why that was in the movie.
    As for buffet eating, I used to look out for places like that but am just fine with a meal to order while largely avoiding busy restaurants anyway.I think there are a few around my area, mostly for Chinese food. Breakfast buffets at places like Shoney's and Quincy's used to more common but faded away even before the health situation in the last couple of years.

    I love this movie. I would rate it... Ummm... (side note: I rate movies from negative five to one hundred). I would rate this one about 63 which is a high recommend rating. I would show this movie to friends and family who've never seen it 63 times out of 100.
    A rating of one from me is not so bad, it just means I would hardly recommend it, a rating of zero means ignorable, and a negative rating means avoid this monstrosity (anything greater than negative five is SO bad it's a positive again: like: Tusk, or Plan 9...)
