DH Changemakers 2023 | Shilpa Mudbi | Bengaluru Singer Brings Folk Art to Urban Audience

- Shilpa Mudbi launched the @UrbanFolkProject in 2017 with an aim to bring folk art from Karnataka to urban audiences.
She also performs the traditional songs like 'Sobane' and 'Jogula'.
One of the art forms that she is trying to highlight is Yellammaanata, which is practicised by the Devadasi and Jogathi (transgender) communities in parts of North Karnataka. In order to do this, Shilpa has been conducting workshops and classes to teach people these songs and also to play tradtional instruments like Chowkdi and Shruthi.

Hello Mam .... greetings from North India. Yemallana ata folk music seems to be quite interesting and therapeutic to listen . One request from my side ... can you recreate Gender Bender skit in English so that we non kannadians can also understand it.
