So what shadow actually does means nothing for the storyline. It's a filler level. You do neutral here, to go to Cosmic Fall; where you FIND DA COMPUTER ROOM. Yes; the canon route must help all three Chaotix. Why? Because what the Chaotix are working on is pivitol to the last story. Plus; isn't it such a co-incidence that it is possible to do all three Chaotix missions and the Chaotix are important in the Last Story?
I think this game's sheer edge is what makes it a gem to a lot of people. I've actually seen a lot more people say they love this game. The Quarter Guy, Pastra, Phisnom, to name... 3.

Awesome video man this was great. It was cool to see you play something else and different like this it's very interesting. Sonic is one of my favorite series ever even though it has a lot of issues sometimes.
I know it doesn’t really matter because there’s no way to beat the game without collecting any rings, but I would personally say with these kind of challenges. If the game actively takes control away from the player, it’s fine to collect rings. As long as you still self impose the rule that you can’t take damage.
As a lifelong Shadow the Hedgehog apologist, it's incredibly refreshing to finally see someone online take the game seriously. It's truly the best the Adventure era Sonic games have to offer. Outside of a few standout low points, it's one of the few Sonic games that gets that speed is what a Sonic game should be all about; a concept that Sonic Team still struggles with to this day. Run-and-gun gameplay was a perfect choice for the series, and the narrative ambition, while flawed in execution, is something I really appreciate.
I’d love to see this get a remake. The story is really messy, but The Last Way really ties up Shadow’s story and (in my opinion) gave birth to modern Shadow’s self-confidence and generally healthy attitude.
the middle paragraph here feels friggin' ai generated, with the sonic critique stock phrase used to praise the speed of the game with the _slowest_ speed character in the era it's not even like it tracks with the lack of non-speed characters as player characters, because you still get sent on scavenger hunts and extended combat sequences ( most often paced like sonic heroes's before you level up your team, at that ) to vary the pace regardless of the game being all shadow, all the time
This game is way too overhated I’m really sick of pretending it’s bad when it’s not true at all. Edit: This is sarcasm the game is pretty mid but it’s fun.
This is the weirdest looking Shin Megoomi Tensei 4 Apocalypse challenge I'm seeing. If I squint real hard I guess the black comet isn't too different from the Cosmic Egg.
Expert mode is literally the answer to anyone whose main complaint is the paths. I didn't even know it existed. I beat single paths a few times as a kid, but I've watched a lot of videos about the game. What the hell?!
On the Devil Doom fight, there's actually a well-known exploit to shred DD's health really quickly. If you spam enough uncharged Chaos Spears and destroy the debris flying around, you'll charge your Dark Meter. The debris constantly respawns, but you should be able to get a full charge in under 10 seconds. Once you've charged up, get close and double-tap Chaos Blast (remember that you have a brief window to use it a second time immediately after firing). Chaos Blast bypasses Devil Doom's invulnerability AND does more damage than Charged Chaos Spear, with a double blast taking out about a third of his health. It's still tight, but much more manageable.
14:47 caught me so off guard i literally forgot about the challenge and was invested in how it happened. But its probably best that its not opened again. Fun segment though..................
Shadow 05 is a mess. It's a fun mess. It's not mega broken like 06. It's a mostly well-functioning game. Fix up some of the bad design decisions (slippery shoes, strict enemy kill missions, bad level designs like The Doom, Lost Impact, and Mad Matrix Dark Mission), and it's a fine game. And the story and writing, like the game, are a mess, but a fun mess. It's so edgy and dark and serious in a franchise about talking animals with superpowers that it overflows into being goofy and dumb. Plus there's SOME genuinely good parts of it.
I have no idea whose idea that cutscene of Shadow saying "Are you kidding me guys? This is like taking candy from a baby, which is fine by me" was, but they deserve a medal for writing one of the dumbest cutscenes ever made.
Well we've gotten a Sonic Classic rerelease collection so maybe we'll get a release collection of Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog. Well, I mean we got an announcement for Okami 2 so honestly anything can happen.

I’d love to see this get a remake. The story is really messy, but The Last Way really ties up Shadow’s story and (in my opinion) gave birth to modern Shadow’s self-confidence and generally healthy attitude.
the middle paragraph here feels friggin' ai generated, with the sonic critique stock phrase used to praise the speed of the game with the _slowest_ speed character in the era
it's not even like it tracks with the lack of non-speed characters as player characters, because you still get sent on scavenger hunts and extended combat sequences ( most often paced like sonic heroes's before you level up your team, at that ) to vary the pace regardless of the game being all shadow, all the time
Never thought i see a challenge run for Shadow the hedgehog before? 😉 This is going to good!
This is one of my favorite games
That is good
FUCK YES I absolutely love Shadow the Hedgehog. Legit one of my favorite sonic games. Although I am a sucker for edgy characters
Has to be an SMT game, considering it stars The Devil, From the Bible.
I love the part where he screamed PERSONA! (kaching) then escaped from the city plays. Chills.
Damn he did all alignments instead of just law or chaos or neutral
This game is way too overhated I’m really sick of pretending it’s bad when it’s not true at all.
Edit: This is sarcasm the game is pretty mid but it’s fun.
Did not expect a Shadow video from you and I am ALL for it. Keep cooking.
23:19 Exclusive to the Gamecube version, you can actually see the test grid below Black Doom in this cutscene. A minor leftover.
This is the weirdest looking Shin Megoomi Tensei 4 Apocalypse challenge I'm seeing. If I squint real hard I guess the black comet isn't too different from the Cosmic Egg.
I wouldn’t mind seeing the other challenges for the game you had in mind.
Expert mode is literally the answer to anyone whose main complaint is the paths. I didn't even know it existed. I beat single paths a few times as a kid, but I've watched a lot of videos about the game. What the hell?!
Only one mission requires Rings, so...
Also, Sonic content on this channel? And someone who LIKES the game?
Based!!
9:06 Xenoblade intensifies 🛟
Hi Jaff the agrat simp
Well, he does kill demons so I guess this counts.
I wasn't expecting this in the slightest, but I'm completely here for it
On the Devil Doom fight, there's actually a well-known exploit to shred DD's health really quickly.
23:01 would have been a sin if you didnt show it that one little line is the main and sometimes only thing i ever remember about this game
That spindash jump in Mad Matrix is SO good
Awesome callback to those good old times, when you could just sit down and simply have fun playing a game, haters be damned. Thanks for nostalgia.
37:32 Caine: *pointing at the Digital Circus stage* "Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power!"
Seeing this video pull up is like the green goblin mask
Me: "I shouldn't it's over an hour long!"
"COWARD!" Yells the video at me
I would actually love more Sonic videos thank you very much
14:47 caught me so off guard
i literally forgot about the challenge and was invested in how it happened. But its probably best that its not opened again. Fun segment though..................
I'm actually really happy to see this.
It's so edgy, it actually kind is fascinating. I can't hate it.
A surprise for sure but a welcome one
From SMT to Castlevania and now we got a Sonic Challenge run on a game that Sonic Team explicitly doesn't want you to go Ringless.
YOOOO, I DIDN'T EVEN WATCH THE VIDEO YET BUT NYARLY PLAYING PEAK, I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE MY EYES
