Hey I hope to be coming out there for orientation hopefully middle of September. I’ve been doing a lot of research watching a lot of different videos. I really do appreciate you posting these videos and also doing the questionnaire answers with the others. Dustin is my recruiter and he’s doing an awesome job. Again thank you very much for all Of these informative videos you rock.
I used the CDL Prep app and passed both my Class B and Class A permit the first try. I just passed my Class A permit August 27th and now I'm saving money to cover my bills and have some spending money while I'm away at training. I'm considering coming to Prime for Flatbed division. I've tried talking to a recruiter but they told me they can't discuss anything with me until I fill out the app.
William Webb Great Jon on the Permit!! And yeah I agree that app is a lifesaver for the permit test! Good luck as you transition into my trucking world.Pre trip videos available on my channel that will be your next hurdle.
@@CrazyBags You have what it takes!!!! I retired and unfortunately, not thinking ahead, voluntarily gave up my CDL. NOW I REGRET IT BECAUSE I WANT TO RETURN TO TRUCKING. I'm very interested in your company!!!! Can you give me info on how I can go about getting my CDL back and coming to Prime please? Many thanks :)
Good videos CrazyBags. I'll be at PSD this Monday, November 12th. I'm 59 years old and this is something I have always wanted to do. Very excited to get started.
Mister T good luck to you Sir,my last student was 66 years old and showed me your never beyond being successful at something you desire,he finished all his training and has had a very successful beginning to his new career!
Do you have any up to date like 2020 videos on this specific subject??? I’m scheduled to start orientation this Wednesday (sept 2020). It would be super nice possibly helpful and I would be grateful most likely if there is anything up-to-date on this situation, subject!!!
Hey man, love your videos! The pre trips are extremely helpful! I watch the full set daily! I will be starting at Prime this coming Monday (28th). Any chance I can learn from you? I really want a trainer that cares, which you seem to, very much!
I filled out my application talked to my recruiter I be staying in my home state going to a truck driving school . In Philadelphia I don't know what will happen until I start
I have a unusual question.. I have a class a cdl with out an airbrake endorsement.... long story but I guess it is possible cuz I have it. So clearly prime would help me get a full cdl but would I have to retake the entire test..And do the schooling ? Or will they just make me test the air brake section and move me forward ?? Would I need a permit ? Or do I have to start from scratch? I do have the tanker and double/triple endorsement.. but no airbrake
Johnnybtv I would highly recommend you study airbrake test and go to your local DMV and get it done before coming to Prime it’s a simple test and not very costly, otherwise you may have to switch to a MO permit and basically start from scratch
CrazyBags problem is I don’t have access to a truck with airbrake. I passed the air writing test but took my drivers test with a truck with no airbrake.
This was a great video. Very informative. I would really like to get hired on with Prime. I have a question for you. I previously drove for Schneider from 2002 to 2004 and I really liked that job. Unfortunately I was in a really bad motorcycle accident on my way home from work one night. I ended up having to get my left foot amputated and therefore had to eventually give up my CDL. I want to get it back again and drive. I miss the road and the job so much. Would Prime even consider hiring a person with an amputated foot? I will have my CDL before I even apply. I've been a freelance Audio Engineer for the last 7 years and there is no future in it for me. Thank you in advance for any insight you can provide. Give it to me straight...
Cynthia Johnson turn on hazards bring truck to slow speed enter on to the shoulder of the roadway bring the truck to a complete stop and pull both brake valves that will conclude your emergency stop
@@CrazyBags I have spoken to recruiter and she said MO is not only the training center, the second one in UT for those who reside in the west coast. Also for retired military who has been stationed overseas and came back home straight from their last duty station (Europe, Korea etc) you w9n't be able to apply unless you live in US for at least a year. The reason is they need your driving record to check for the past 12 months
Also a training facility in PA now as well but when I made this video a couple years ago they did everything out of MO and that’s good info on the over seas return, I had never heard that
Great videos, just found your channel. I'm headed to prime but I haven't seen anything about the DOT Physical. Are we lifting weights? or what? Not concerned about medical or drug test. Any info you could give would be greatly appreciated
I had to lift a small box of weights they wanted to make sure you squat to lift, also flatbed drivers have to do an agility test which includes lifting a tarp over your head and a few weights they have to lifr.
Alex Taylor I know it’s possible yes and depending on the amount of time you are talking about will dictate what the process will be for most people if it’s short periods of time it’s a simple self declaration form for longer times I’m not sure of the process.
CrazyBags 357 thanks for the response I did call and they said I’ll need 6 references due to it being 5 years so I’m gonna apply soon thanks again and your vids are very helpful
Chihuas The Trucker 2018 Everyone takes a physical at prime they want their doctor giving everyone a physical now for the permit if it’s a Missouri permit your good you’ll just do orientation and start PSD without going through the permit testing but if it’s from another state I think you have to get a Missouri permit otherwise you can’t test out at Prime.
If I am in PSD and I do not want to continue. Do I have to pay for the training? that is, since when does the contract begin? from the orientation or since you have your CDL. Do I have to pay the school fees?
Thanks for the information sir! During your tnt training do you try to get home time for you and your student or is it run, run, run to try to reach the mileage goal? I know TNT can take a couple months sometimes
Until you obtain your CDL its $200 a week loan, usually takes like 3 weeks on average to get your CDL thrn the TnT part of training you get paid $700 a week
Angela Purvy just depends when you come to start training one student takes me about 10 weeks start to finish so 4 students a year is about all I can do, so depending if I’m ready for a new student when you come to Prime would be a big factor

Nice video bro, I am here now I just took the CDL permit test today. Passed it on a first time go. That app definitely helps. Thanks for the video.

How’d it go?

What if you have your CDL and Haven't driven trucks for years, And have no OTR experience?
Pedro De La Cruz you will have to go through the training program start to finish just your testing is different because you already have your CDL
What if you already have the permit and the dot physical?
What if we already have our DOT physical and permit?
Hey man, love your videos! The pre trips are extremely helpful! I watch the full set daily! I will be starting at Prime this coming Monday (28th). Any chance I can learn from you? I really want a trainer that cares, which you seem to, very much!
The new rates are higher.
Why would I ride a bus when I could just drive there?
I filled out my application talked to my recruiter I be staying in my home state going to a truck driving school . In Philadelphia I don't know what will happen until I start
Why do I have to give my CDL. To get abother state CDL. Then take a agility test. Damn..
Matt McClellan it you already have your CDL you keep the one you have only students without CDL have to change their license state

I am not a reliable source but I heard that DOT physical can decide if your condition could be waived.
Would you please show us an emergency stop?
Cynthia Johnson turn on hazards bring truck to slow speed enter on to the shoulder of the roadway bring the truck to a complete stop and pull both brake valves that will conclude your emergency stop
Go to your local CDL DMV Facility and get a CDL Manual/Book and read it to get used to the Terms and familiarize yourself
I read that a student has to come to PSD class WITH CDP already. Now you are saying that I have to get it from MO DMV. 😕 I am confused...
This is an old video, they have since changed the way things are done

If I apply now, about how long would it take to get to orientation if I don’t get rejected?
1-2 weeks

Great videos! How old can I be I'm 72. Am I too old?
Crazy bags are you from PA? If so, how is freight coming to thru PA?
Charles Williams Freight is never a problem in PA, it pays great going in pays like crap coming out!
If I am in PSD and I do not want to continue. Do I have to pay for the training? that is, since when does the contract begin? from the orientation or since you have your CDL. Do I have to pay the school fees?
Already have my permit and med card what should I expect?
Same as everyone else other then having to take the permit tests, everyone takes a physical at prime even if you just had one somewhere else
Thanks for the information sir! During your tnt training do you try to get home time for you and your student or is it run, run, run to try to reach the mileage goal? I know TNT can take a couple months sometimes

CrazyBags 357 okay thanks for responding! ☺
Very informative...
Thanks for the info ... Thor"s Hammer Has Been Swung ... that means Thumb Up...
Can you not just drive your own car there?
Yes you can just talk to your recruiter about parking
If I come to training with a cdl permit from my home state, would that help? Do I have to transfer that over to the Missouri permit when I get there?
That's what I'm wondering to.
Cristcdl.com is a great for studying
