Been doing this since they updated the beta. Very useful feature. It does a little extra gap sometimes, so a little trimming using the Speed editor in the cut page does the trick.

I use this most of the time since transcription was released and indeed a game changer. The Transcription tool also works for the whole timeline under the media pool too which is also good to recheck any silent parts of your editing that you may need to fix further.

You definitely know this already but the option to be able to search for certain words is very useful. Especially when you get a 4 hour video and you need to find a specific part that you don’t know where it is but you know what was mentioned in that moment of the video so searching the text takes you to that moment. Hope that makes sense . Great til this . Always using it although it still has its imperfections . Sometimes it doesn’t do the whole audio at least in my case . Have a great week everyone ✊🔥

Just a heads up, this isn't a feature in Davinci Resolve, which is in the title of your video. This is only available in Davinci Resolve STUDIO, the paid version of the program!

This is crazy! However personally I can’t get through a talking head portion without multiple takes for almost every segment so I’ll still have to do it manually 😂
Still helps tho! If you do one long take this method will save you a ton of time even if you have to cut a bunch of segments out

Ya it looked preety cool. Here's how I think he may have done it. It looked like he used some kind of a clear png overlay that was used to mask the cuts. The zooming and fading at the end of that clip is done through key-framing. That's my guess at how he did it.
How do you record your screen so crisp and clear?
I guess he records in 4k plus some additional OBS settings.

I think this is also great !! However what I haven’t worked out is how to get it to cut my additional audio track from my Zoom or DJI main track and have it cut in the same places. I spoke to BM and have put that in as a request for the future. For a video track with embedded audio it’s phenomenal but for my work flow it doesn’t give me everything I need :-(
Further note: You’re a clever DR expert Jamie, if you can work out how to do this, I would be eternally grateful as I can’t be the only one ?!
Can you create a clip of the external audio with the aligned video and have it work that way?
@@jmiddleb I’ve tried something similar by unlinking the video audio track and then linking the additional audio track but that didn’t work. I’ll give that a shot thanks !!
Sync all the audio/footage in a timeline, create a compound clip, then generate the transcript of the compound clip!

The paid version is davinci resolve studio it’s not hard to put it on the title no? So many other videos have this problem please be better than them it’s why I subbed
What’s included in the studio version and the free version changes sometimes. So I leave it up to the viewer to know depending on what version that have.
@@JamieFenn Come on bro. Right now, this is a feature only available in STUDIO, the paid version. Why be misleading? In your video you even say Davinci Resolve. But it's not available in Davinci Resolve....

You have to mention paid version as the first thing. Also, it's a new feature hence can't be called cheat(Because you yourself just started usi ng it).
Transcript doesn't include timecodes and it's only on the paid version - so I'll continue to use Prem Pro for this kind of thing..

Doesn't work for anything but talking heads witch aren't real Videos anyway. Even Sb Titles doesn't work crap for real world video. Even with remote Mics it's marginal at best but a lot better then transcribing by hand unless you're a court reporter or Medical transcriptionist.
