- True happiness cannot be achieved through the gain of material good (whether it money, fame, houses, cars, etc) as all material degrades into nothingness. Happiness is only achieved through spiritual means and the spiritual path.
Happiness ought not be confused with contentment, which can be begotten in situations of both comfort and difficult.
In this video I discuss happiness, materialism in terms of career (the pursuit of wealth) and the balance of happiness and sadness that comes with having a career in any field. I relate it to my writing as well.

You’re very right. Desire is the source of suffering and happiness is the satisfaction of a desire and once that settles there will be more desire in a never ending cycle. It’s human nature and that’s why you must find contentment in that. It’s yong and yang or the way. Etc.
i think some desires can also be morally right at times
In my perspective the moment you leave behind expectations you achieve happiness, everything in this world is meaningless there's no point in anything might as well flow with it and expect nothing.... you already have more than enough to be happy you just have to be
