There is a reason I have a 52 & 42 inch Bravias. People moving out of my complex left them behind or just upgraded.
My Sony surround sound unit is wigging out tho from the PC hdmi. Flip a coin. One day it is fine, next day no.
My tv is less then a year old, I have done the factory reset many times now.the tv will work temporarily. Then it will turn off automatically and the red light will flicker on and off.i grew up owning sony tvs all my life, but this is a huge disappointment. Yep Samsung, Panasonic or Lg would be the way to go Sony Bravia tv's are horrible tv's cheaply made poor quality overpriced crap!

Yes, the tv works for fewer hours and then goes back again with the red flashing light. So I have to reset it every time, but what is the real problem with the tv. Need a repair???
I have an older model Sony TV(KDL46XBR4). The red light began today. I have done all the troubleshooting shown but still NO picture or sound.I can hear the sound when I attempted with the Home theater system on. Trying to figure out is it worth servicing. I had it since 2008 and love the picture.

Peter, I have the same problem as you. In addition to this video, I went through online chat and customer support phone number. I was told I need to take it in and pay for repairs, get a % off a new TV or pay for a refurbished one! I bought it in Jan 2011 (Model KDL-46EX710). Would like to hear your experience too. If I buy a new TV, I definitely won't be buying a Sony again!

Alert Alert.. I just remembered my Sony Smart TV only works when connected to the Internet- it being a Smart TV. Unfortunately I was late to pay my bill and was shut off for 1 day. Maybe we all just need to connect via Wifi or Direct Plug. That helped me.. Lets see if after you do the factory reset- or maybe before. Blessings to you.
I have an XBR that shuts off and blinks red 4 times. I grounded the BL_ERR circuit and it works fine now. I really with Sony provided more info for advanced users on what causes the problem and how to troubleshoot. I found that disconnecting power to the LD board (which controls backlight) should tell me the LD board is bad, yet the TV still shuts off. With all cables connected, It wasn't until I removed the cables going from the main board to the TCON board that the TV finally stayed on. This would indicate an issue with the TCON board, however the 4 blinks points to backlight issue. Plus, the TV works absolutely fine with the BL_ERR circuit grounded, which tells me that the LD and TCON boards are functioning normally. I did notice that the 12V power wires going to the TCON board from the power suppply board are showing 0V.. but then how is the TCON board getting power? I can't figure out whether the problem really is the LD, or if it's the TCON, mainboard, or power supply board. Again, I wish Sony provided troubleshooting assistance for people are aren't afraid to use a multimeter.
Bl err circuit ? Where do I find it and what do I do to fix it ? Simply remove it / cut it out of the circuit?
thanx scott 4 repling but if it was hat easy i wouldnt have posted i've tried resetting the tv i'm pretty sure it has something 2 do with the audio since it makes a pop as it tries to turn on then cuts off i'm just hoping its not a shorted circuit if so is there a frequent area this may be in thanx again for the help

I have a 13 inch sony 1990's type and picture was losing color, blinking picture when first turned on and the standby (RED) light was blinking on and off 5 times whether tv was on or off. I took back off and saw no adjustments but a LOT OF DUST!!! Cleaned dust and what a difference..no problems what so ever! I guess 15 yrs of dust can cause problems LOL!!!

I have a KDF60XS955 and was giving me 5 red flashes. Right now it's not flashing red... it just comes on... about a min later... cycles off then back on flashing green like normal.. pic comes on a bit odd then goes off again. Does this over and over. I saw some other things about 5 red flashes but that was for a later model and am not totally sure it applies to this one. It's been an absolutely great tv and would like to see if I can fix it and keep it going! Any ideas about the 5 red flashes on this model?

Hi, Please help me, my Sony Bravia KLV-32EX300 had the blinking red problem but it work by itself again, then now whenever I connect it to the power outlet without connecting anything to the set itself I get a normal non-blinking red light but when I turn it on the light changes to a non-blinking green but the screen isn't showing anything and it freezes like this and the only way to turn it off again is to remove the power cord from the power outlet, any suggestions??
I replaced a main board. After this the indicator was flashing red and green but not turning on. You said to leave it I think for 5 minutes...it just needed time...came back on ok. Thanks

Hi John, ok I just starting getting this problem today on my KDL65HX729 I and the TV is not yet a year old. I notice it started to happen right after it updated it's software. keeped shutting off after 3 time red LED flashed 8 times ever few sec. I did a lot of researching and the I tried a factory restet and it seems to work. Haven't went out yet.. hope this helps
I have a Sony KDL-46S4100. We had a power surge through the cable and now the red light blinks 5 times. I called support and they said it had something related to the panel and I needed to contact a local Sony repair technician. Do you know what part I would need we are going to try and fix it ourselves. The closest answer I found online is it could be the G board.

It really worked for me in mintutes.. i can see my favorite programs... 🤗 🥳🥳 .. but if change any system settings like picture mode or sound mode or any system default settings, it is going into same stage.... Automatic turn on and off for 3 or more times and going to leed blinking state.. so i am using system default settings .. is there any hardware troubleshooting , soldering of wires to avoid this problem completely

after 2.5 years it kept blinking 6x red randomly (some days did, some days didn't) but the frequency was often that i decided to get rid of it . since the repair is 1/2 the price of a new sony tv unit i went for a new Toshiba and i am very happy with it.

The same thing happened to my TV too it kept resetting. It's all good now, Sony needs to make sure that their servers don't cause this problem again. Never did I ever imagine a server error would cause this, I should have removed the ethernet cable first but who knew LOL. Sony is pretty irresponsible for letting this happen though.
I have a Sony Bravia KDL46V3000 & it's had an intermittent problem for the past 2 years or so. The picture will suddenly go black, then standby light flashes once every 17-18 secs. When it first started, the picture would come back on after awhile (1 or 2 hrs, or sometimes a day). It finally stopped & lasted about 18 mos. problem free, then recently began doing it again. Now, it hasn't come on for about 4 days. This video does me no good. Is there any chance it's an easy fix or am I screwed?

My TV doesn't turn on anymore, when I plug it in (and yes I tried all the steps in your video, even waited 1 hour instead of 5 mins), it turns on, Sony logo appears, then goes back off, after a few tries, it doesn't show the logo anymore, goes from Red to Green then instantly back to Red.

I have a sony wega lcd kdf-46e2000 and it went out today. It turns on green for a few seconds then goes to constant red blinking and turning itself off and stay red blinking. Hi again, I took the back panel off, and when I disconnect the cables to the T-CON board the power green LED stays on. It seems that the board is damaged. I paid a lot for this TV. i have this KDL40EX523 with same issue... when you turn it on it will reboot and the red LED indicator will blink 8 times pause little bit then 8 times again repeatedly... i tried all of this but nothing happened... i checked forums and they suggest a firmware upgrade... but how will you upgrade it if its not turning on completely? any suggestions

My tv just turned on when we have this power black out day after i commented on this video...and when the electricity backs in it just turned on without anyone operating it- its just plugged in, it work few hours until i turned it off but the next morning it doesn't work again ang blinking 8 times... then i performed a factory reset and it works... but i noticed that it respond very slow on the remote control even on the buttons in the tv itself. any idea?

If yes, does the green POWER light indicator flash on the front panel of the TV while doing the reset procedure? If yes, please try it again. The two blinking light code is a power board fault. I repaired mine for $15 by replacing 2 MOSFETs and one fusible resistor on the power board. It was pretty easy if you know how to use a soldering iron. Same fix applies to ex500, ex600, nx800, nx700, nx810 and other sets. MOSFETs q6102 and q6101 and Resistor r6536 need to be replaced on ex600 and nx800 sets as it is a common fault on these boards.

Is there any possibility to turn on or off standby mode with ps3 remote on ps3 3d (24"display)
My KDL-46W3000 turns off and the standby red light blinks 10 times. From internet research this seems to be either a tuner board or digital board issue. Does this TV have both of those boards? And is there anyway of knowing which board is causing the problem?

TV was blinking red 6x , that was it, nothing from this video made it work, i was a tenth of an inch to trash it because it was out of warranty (2.5 years old). i decided to remove all the screws form the back, opened it and just reseated firmly all the connectors, it turned back on (OMG), reset it and updated the firware via USB.... its been 4 days and works fine. i hope it stays.
My sony bravia's standby light was blinking, so I used the methods in this video, and they did work. The next day I tried to turn on the tv, but it started blinking again. I tried both methods shown in this video, again, but it did not help. Is there a more permanent solution?

I have a Bravia 52"KDL-XBR4 and it works nice until all of a sudden it abruptly shuts down and the red light keeps blinking twice. In this state it cannot be turned on by neither power buttons. All I can do is disconnect it from the plug. This is a recent problem...it happened twice in a month. Hopefully it won't occur too often! I haven't tried to do a factory reset. Any idea how to prevent the shut down with the red blinking light?

Look at the back of the TV and make sure the outlets are plugged in.it just happen to me 5 minutes ago so it should work
My Sony KDL55EX621 was turning off and then on again by itself at inconsistent intervals. Then I noticed the red standby light flashing 8 times before pausing then repeating. I am going to try the factory reset process to see if that works.

Also. I have instructed as much as i can over the phone on "hard resetting" via holding power button and "up" button on remote. And "up" button on remote with the tv power button.

i have a sony kdl50r550a when i try to power it up is show the logo of sony but it keeps on looping there for 3x then it turn off any solution for this?
my kdl52w3000 just quit. No light codes & no standby. I think it is capacitors or the entire power board. Still the best tv i ever owned, look forward to fixing it.
I have a Playstation 3D display PS398078 and it will not turn on. I bought it over a month ago and lost the receipt, so I cannot return it. I press the power button and the blue light turns on then a green light appears on the left side and then finally it is replaced with a blinking red light. This all happens while the screen is off so it never really turns on (no blacklight). The red light continues blinking until I press the power button again. Can you help me?
Model: KDL-55HX729. TV Keeps restating every 1 min. After a while it will blink the red standby light 8 times. I tried to reset it, but it will become unresponsive and reset before I can get through the initial setup again. I have downloads turned of. This is very frustrating and this TV was a replacement for my last Sony TV that went bad too soon as well. What can I do?

Heeeeeeelp! I have an old tv. Its a KV-13FS100. It went into sleep mode while I was playing Call Of Duty on my PS3. I havent been able to turn it on for hours. hi sony - my KLV32u300a dont want to go on standby - it switches off! i must put the tv on & off at the wall and then it makes a dubble click sound - then it dont come on at all! have to wait for hour or two before it will come on! please help?

My KF-XBR800 projection LCD television has been a faithful, reliable companion since 2004! However, lately when I turn it on it will just give me 6 red light blinks on the front panel, pause, and then do it again. It will actually come on if I then turn it off and back on again (usually), but why is this happening? I've definitely gotten my money's worth out of this beast over the past 15 years, but I still love it and want to keep it going for as long as possible!
is there a way to do the last part without a remote?

I have a KDL-46EX620 that just started turning off and on again by itself. It does it for about 5 minutes and then shuts off with the red led on the front blinking 8 times. I tried following the instructions in this video and then did a "Power off reset" followed by a "factory reset" and NOW IT IS TOAST. IF YOU ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM, DON'T DO A FACTORY RESET!!! After doing a factory reset, I lost all the local channels and it began the initial setup. It shut off before setup was complete.
I have the Bravia XBR65X9000C bought in 2016, and i have the blinking red LED (4-5x then shuts off), and then back to the blinking red LED again. I did the factory reset several times and the TV does not even turn on. Please Help.

Hi Tina! Does the yellow spot show up on all sources like on TV channels, DVD movies or video games? If yes, please turn off all your devices and just leave the TV ON (black screen). Pull up the TV menu using the TV remote and check if the yellow spot is still visible over the menu or on the background of the VIDEO INPUT. If it is, then your TV may require service. Hi, I have Sony Bravia KLV-32EX500 which is 4 yrs old. After powering ON, the red LED light switches to green LED light and stays green for 10 seconds. Then the initial start up sound comes and immediately it goes back to standby mode where the red LED light is blinking for 5 time. With gap of two seconds the red LED again starts to blink for five times.
Please provide your inputs on the problem in TV and how it can be resolved. Thanks in advance..
When the green LED light is ON tried factory reset by holding the up arrow in the remote and hold on / off the power button in TV. But this doesn't work since the TV goes back to standby mode within 2 to 3 seconds

I have a Sony KDL-XBR6 that is displaying the colors in a bad way, it's
like it had somekind of purple filter activated all over the screen, the
blacks looks grayis and/or transparent, it also hace tenue grayish
lines flickering in an horizontal way.
That happens in all sources, and it's not something that has to do with video settings.
What can I do?
