Congratulations to this nest.. the wonderful Mom, The First Lady, and Dad, Mr. President, for DC4! It's interesting how, basically all eagles do the same thing in brooding and eaglet rearing, but each has a little different style. Here, I see the mother very active in helping along the hatching process.. moving, rolling, and getting up and moving/removing the shell (looks like she ate some of the shell), while at other nests, the mother may get up and look, then go back to brooding. It's fascinating, and I never tire of watching these nests. DC4 is a beautiful little (bobblehead) eaglet! Thank you for the excellent camera work and amazing close up. :)
How exciting! My daughter's first grade class at Meridian school watched the hatch live this morning on their Prometheus Board! How great this is! So many questions, "What is the mother doing", Why is she putting under her?"
This observation brought tears to my eyes. The powerful mother eagle so tender; she will feed them for many months. I believe that is where daddy eagle comes in; he helps keep them fed and safe. Then they have to be taught to fly. What a lesson for humans. Than ks be to God for His creation.
Are the eaglets referred to their numbers, etc DC4, as to being laid first or hatched first? No matter how many times I watch an egg hatch it just gets more majestic everytime.
