My rent and bills are less than £600. Also south. I used to be closer to the centre for under £500 bills included but the building was falling apart and is up for demolition lol.
Thanks for sharing this video. I am moving to London for work for the first time this summer. £783.50 for a room (plus bills) seems reasonable then and probably matches up closely to what I will be going for. I will be renting a house for approximately £3.5k/month (working on the basis there are 3 or 4 of you flatsharing). Not the cheapest but it is London after all. Oh well, will know firsthand once I get there!
8 pounds a day commuting? That’s hard Abbey. I had been to London for a couple of days in 2006, didn’t find the public transport that expensive. Perhaps you live away from the city (I lived for a week in Berkshire on that trip) which must be why it’s costing you so much. Would buying a car improve things ?
800GBP to 1000GBP for a room share, plus bills in London?, that was about 400 a month, including bills in 2006 when i lived there for five years, you could get a 1 bed apartment for about 700 to 800 in 2006, so it´s more than doubled in 15 years. One room in South London I had lined up was about 500 a month, including bills about four years ago. Sounds out of control to me.
thank you so much, I'm moving to london this summer for my next job and your video make me feel much less nervous.
I hope you love it!
It's the London hard water (or the stress of living in London) that could be affecting your hair. You could try a shower water filter.

Thank you!
The water bottle... Oh my goodness... 😲 Is there gold hidden in it?
Greetz and take care. 🙋🏻♀️
Finally someone who is not whining about the living cost crisis and actually has a more positive mature take on it!
