For those craving for Geo Detective - it has not gone! I’ve been working on a a particularly tough one for some weeks now - it’ll be with us soon. PS sorry about all the tapping in this vid 😅
Looking forward to it! The tapping is kinda satisfying to listen to, please keep it!🙂 (much better than those deafening keyboard sounds some geoguessr players make every time they make a guess)
Now that A Diverse World is gone, you can start playing A Community World. That's the one the pros are playing nowadays and is also the map that Geoguessr is using for its higher ranked competitive duels
im pretty sure hes aware, the reason why hes probably choosing world is that ACW has some exceptionally difficult nmpz locations, compared to adw its about same difficulty on no move, but way harder on nmpz.
@@Ten_Thousand_LocustsI think World is the total amount of Streetview, while ADW evenly spreads the amount of Streetview per country so you won't get as much Russia, USA and Brazil.
Really quite like this format Tom with the little bits of text showing your thought process and still with your reactions without the need to be commentating endlessly since I know that is near impossible to do consistently when trying to get good scores on these short time limit challenges. Great vid as always
Consider playing on A Community World, it is a map made by the geoguessr community that was meant to replace A Diverse World as the de facto world map.
Hey I know this would have taken a lot of time to make and edit. I just wanted to say the format with putting the text with your thoughts up there was perfect for fast paced videos. Also loved the ???? In the Lake with the 24000 in sight. Great job.
Lack of confidence resulting in consistently good guesses isn’t luck, you’re just better than you expect due to subconscious knowledge and instincts that you can’t even explain.
I love this format! The notes on screen with your thoughts really help us understand how much information you get out of a single picture. Loved it :):)
The things you're noticing popping in real time in text form is a great little addition. Reminiscent of how Sherlock's observations about people are portrayed in Sherlock.
I really appreciate you adding the words on the screen to give quick context clues as to why you guessed what you guessed. Quick and simple but very helpful!
Tom, you were my introduction to Geogeussr 2 years ago and I think I'm an Ok player now. I've taken up your challenge with 10s NMPZ on the world map but aiming for 20k first. Having managed a 17.6k which included a Singapore round, I can appreciate just how hard the challenge you have set yourself is. Good luck for 24k and I'm hoping to get 20k before you manage it so I can stretch to 24k. BTW my wife runs ultramarathons and she gave massive thumbs up to your football across England video. Keep up the good work. Chris
Okay Tom, I have an absolutely insane, but absolutely PERFECT challenge for you: There's this route planner called "OmnesViae" that maps out the road networks of the Roman Empire. Many of these are no longer really roads, so it would be quite the adventure to retrace them. Sooooo, my challenge for you: *A roman road trip!* Just imagine, a mission across Europe using nothing but historic Roman routes! It would be kind of like a straight line challenge, following a line and all that, but at the same time both far longer and far simpler considering that roads tended to follow topography in a convenient way.
i am not well travelled, nor have i studied much geography, nor am i trained in this game at all. but it's fun to guess along with you. I get how you get a vibe and it's not really explainable - probably really good at pattern recognition. i guessed some that you didn't (purely off of vibes) but mostly i'm in awe of you.
2:01 I think that's the local school right off of Teaneck Road, right? That's in Ridgefield Park, I passed by that sometimes when driving to friends who live in that town. Nice to find a place I recognize!
I loce to see this series, seen as I got my most insane game on this format yesterday. Got 24616 points on the Community World map which is basically the new diverse world. Please continue this series
That guess that you had in the preview and around 24 minutes in in Maryland is a gas station I’ve been to a number of times! So funny to finally see something close by home in one of your games. 😂
23:38 that one to be fair it’s really hard for non-taiwanese people. you can tell it’s liyu lake by the green water and those big mountains around the lake (central mountain range). also the cloudy weather just looks like the classic taiwanese climate). ohh there are also a lot of big pylons on the mountains
Definitely nice to have the text for when you don't have enough time to explain, I came for the adventures and still prefer those but geoguessr is super entertaining as well, don't stop doing either! I'd echo other comments saying that some GeoDetective would be super welcome!
That very first guess on the first run, the location you clicked on in New Jersey, is literally about 5 miles from where I grew up. Of all the places in the world ... :)
yesss! so glad to see more NMPZ. the notes detailing your thought process during the guesses is a welcome touch. love watching these during my breaks and such, keep it up Tom!
For the Geneva one, there was a Swiss flag on the sign to the left. Not a safe giveaway of the location (since it's used as a brand logo quite often), but still a valuable hint for a 10 sec. game
Geoguessr is just like golf for me. You can be having shit guess/shot after shit guess/shot and then a real good one pulls you right back in and for an instant you're the GOAT.
I live about thirty minutes from the one in "Bali-More," as you said it. I guessed Owings Mills and was shocked 😂. My only guess in the video that I got other than just saying the correct country for a few
Hey. 5:20 is right around the corner from my hometown. De Groene Kruisweg. The second longest continuing road in The Netherlands and the main artery of the island Voorne-Putten into sub-urban Rotterdam.
I used to grind this game mode for hours a day multiple days a week on ADW back in lockdown. Never could break the 24000 mark my best was just over 23600. This vid makes me want to get back into it, insane guesses all throughout
Let's be honest, you really deserved that 1 point for the Melbourne one you guessed in California. Cars on wrong side, cars not USA, gumtrees, aust power poles. Haha. That Vienna guess and the Italian one was insane. Same with Portland and Germany. But the lack of context for Vienna was amazing.
7:37 The correct pronunciation is Oh-Ray-Gun. 😂 14:28 Horizontal traffic signals are much more common in Florida and coastal Texas compared to other parts of the US in part because they withstand high winds better than vertical signals so are less likely to be blown down by hurricanes.
Oof at 4:38 when you started zooming into Slovenia I was: "wow he might score super high" but then you went middle between Celje and Maribor while the landscape suggested SW Slovenia, the Kras area between Gorica nad Bistrica...
22:29 That’s actually New Albany, which is where I live! Wild! I go walking around there all the time. Small world. The building to the right was once a shirt factory that sat unoccupied for years before a development company bought it and turned it into senior living. It’s on Main Street about seven blocks from my house.
Good work! I know from experience there's many hours of frustration condensed into this package. Not surprisingly, a lot of the comments are recommending ACW, but I'm glad you've first done your own thing as usual and had a go on the World map. As you say, it's not diverse enough, but it is still an excellent challenge.
For those craving for Geo Detective - it has not gone! I’ve been working on a a particularly tough one for some weeks now - it’ll be with us soon.
PS sorry about all the tapping in this vid 😅
the tapping makes things better imo
Looking forward to it!

We all know your are googl'ing these guesses now with the typing
@@mrstocks Honestly think that would be more impressive in the 10 seconds.
@@IDeltic I can make a child in 10seconds, jokes on you
The notes on the screen during the guesses are great!
I agree. Instead of a usual voice over, the captions are a great substitute in their own right. Saying minimally what needs to be said.
For a moment i was worried that Tom wasnt recording but 11:25 he checked
@blackn... thx for the laugh. ✌🏻 clever cmt.
Like it or not, but you'll never be as relieved as Tom is when he confirms he is recording.

Yeah in my experience a Community world is a step up from a Diverse world, many more remote and unique locations compared to Diverse world
@@Lennli if acw is too hard nmpz, he could try playing AIW or AAW instead
What's the difference between World and A Diverse World? And why is the latter gone?
@@Ten_Thousand_LocustsI think World is the total amount of Streetview, while ADW evenly spreads the amount of Streetview per country so you won't get as much Russia, USA and Brazil.
A Community World has replaced ADW as the go to map. Its even used in duels for masters and champions levels
World map has so much USA, and too much New Delhi 😭
I like the on screen annotations showing what you were thinking. Nice.
I love the ''inner thoughts'' as plain text on the video. Really helps having a view inside your head :)

yeah you can see quite clearly with this video the regular world is vastly USA favourable
10 second NPNZ is to hard on community
Man, there's nothing like a half-hour classic GeoWizard video. Thanks for sharing your skill with all of us.
That 5th Taiwan round is just madness. As cruel as it gets.....
yeah no kidding. "Guess this generic lake in a generic forest!"
And the 5th round in Russia, so unfortunate
