From Ontario, Canada… picked this up a couple days ago and it’s a damn fine beer and great value. “Dangerously drinkable”… spot on. LOL. Great with burgers or grilled sausages. Most European beers come in 500ml cans and are cheaper than domestic beers here that come in 473ml cans. More beer for less money always sounds good to me. Suggest you try/review some good Polish beers like Zywiec or Okocim (get the black can Okocim Mocne, it’s 6.5%). Cheers!
I’ll give it a try. My Polish gf got me onto the brands. I mistakenly bought Warka once, 🤮. It was nasty, so I stuck with Zywiec & Okocim after that. Lol. Lezajsk isn’t bad either but I just read that it and Tatra are part of Zywiec Brewerys also.
Simon I think that the beer will taste better out of a bottle than out a can. Out of a can you can get a slightly metallic flavour in the beer because the beer has been canned, when you’re drinking it out of a bottle the metallic note Isn’t there. Maybe it would be interesting to comparing the beer out of a bottle with the one in a can.
I think this is over played! Beer is brewed in metal vats and draught beer comes in metal kegs! Most cans are plastic lined, anyway! Green or clear bottles kill beer, as they allow UV light in, which degrade it! Brown bottles block/reflect out some UV and are much better! Personally, I'd sooner buy cans, but it would be interesting to see a blind taste test, with a range of beers, in different containers!
In the 1980s yes, but canned beer these days is perfectly fine, and usually better as the seal is better than bottle and no exposure to sunlight whatsoever.
Worked in beer for almost a decade. If you pour it in a glass from a can it’ll taste better than pouring the bottle into a glass. The ability for light to get into a bottle beer causes it to “skunk” more than it would out of a can.
I've been drinking this for over 10 years. After the change of its look I feel a big difference in taste. It's lacking that rich flavor and that punch it had. Now it's like a flat taste to it. It really makes me sad.
I was the same Simon ordered a mass haul from beer merchants. Included 2 of hackers gold, weiss and Keller. Tried the gold last week and found it unusual taste but not off putting in any way will be interested in the second can if that changes anything. Had Keller last night and it was decent but same stinging nettle background taste. Feel that taste needs to be punchier as think its the passive nature that is not hitting any notes for both of us
The thing with this.... It isn't bad, it's just when you drink it, you've had the same kind of thing before, done better, All in all, it is a bit bland.
Didnt like it eighter too much. Its very easy drinking, but lacks of character or body, a bit pale. Similar to Andechs Spezial Hell maybe. I much more prefer fe. Weltenberg Kloster, Bayerish Hell.
You can see the Brexit effect with this one. £2.59 for regular Eurofizz. Frankly horredously expensive. I'd rather pay 89p for 330ml of Brooklyn Pilsner. Tastes better and isn't a rip off. This beer is a rip off.
The company sent me a bottle of this, once, and I loved it.

I'm also in Ontario, for polish beer, I like tatra, super cheap (2.70CAD a half a litre), 5.5% , smells nice and has punch. Cheers

@@steveallen1635 Yes, that’s what I’m curious to see too, this comparison.

@@richard99cookify Oh I didn’t know that, thanks for sharing! Thanks to you I’ve learned something new today.

Anything is better than Budlight, and I'm from the St.Louis area.

Awesome. Thanks for showing us this can. Wow, 1417, that is a long time to be in business. Cheers.
Lucky to try this one on draft at a local German Restaurant a couple of years ago. Tasty and easy drinking. Prost 🍻!
Drinking one of these now. Very smooth and drinkable. I will score it 8.75 - 9.0 out of 10.
I had the Hefe a year or so ago. Very good. Problem is that is not easy to find.

All in all, it is a bit bland.
I also think the "Helles" by Hacker Pschorr is pretty average... especially compared to Augustiner.
I got a nice honey taste from this beer. My absolute favorite.
Have you had it out of a bottle before Simon? I think it’s much better that way

You pronounce the "P" in Pschorr.
I was disappointed with this. 5/10
Great beer
Tastes like apple juice to me 🤢
Hacker wacker
Picked up a 4 pack of these for 4 bucks the other day. Went back the next day and bought like 10 packs 🤌
