    In this video I show you how I installed a new throttle and a 48v 1000w controller on my Razor E300 E200 electric scooter, I also hacked Power Tool Drill Batteries and set them up inline to make 2 Kobalt 24v 2amp batteries into 1 48v 4amp battery. This setup will allow you to go super fast up to 30mph depending on your scooter the Razor e300 or Razor e200 and your weight. Thanks for watching.

    is the reason theres no video showing you going 30mph because youre running 1000w through a 250w motor and the motor has since burned out?

    My question is does that handle 48v? Because isn't it a 24v motor and you are essentially doubling the volts and watts.... How long do you think that motor will last before it burns up?

    • @TheIllusiveWorks

      Not long, the most you can do is double the voltage/wattage but it will shorten the life spawn, what he is doing is 4x what that motor is rated...it will burn up

    I did this same modification about the same time to an E300, but i used 18V dewalt batteries, and USB charging adapters, same throttle, and same controller, but i also upgraded sprockets and chain. Sourced the bits from aliexpress and ebay. Motor ran fine at 36V for ages, but 2.0ah batteries just don't last long enough to use the scooter to commute with. Sold the E300 with the mods, but got given another E300 for free not long after. I bought a Xiaomi M365 for last mile commute each day, but still think the E300 was a lot more stable and am considering building an E300 with outrunner motor and big batteries.

    What does "inline" mean to you? you got all the basics wrong here it's in series and if you add the volts amps stay the same and if you add amps (parallel) the voltage stays the same can't do both! and a major issue for me is a proper charger to charge 48vdc @ 2Ah...... as each battery pack has its own bms that includes a current shunting circuit and yes the motor would get very hot because the windings are too thick prob not enough of them for the higher voltage. A hub motor would be better or at least a 48v replacement motor any info is appreciated cheers.

    • @npham54
      @npham54 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes either scenario would work. You don't get as much torque with 24V batteries and a 500w controller but overall speed should remain the same as that's dictated by the motor RPMs and tire size. So it just makes it harder to go up hills. Now changing out the motor will change the speed and torque, depends on the specs for your motor.

    Is there a reason you're not routing the power through the switch and using it or were you just being lazy? This is a serious question. It might sound like a criticism, but it's not. I'm planning to do something similar and you're the third person I've seen who bypassed the switch and I'm trying to figure out why. It seems like it'd be a simple matter to just use it rather than having to pull the deck off and disconnect the batteries every time you're done riding so I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

    The stock motor on a Razor E300 is the MY1016 (by Unite Motor Company).
    Rated at 24 V, for 250 W (which at 24 V is ~10 A)
    Dumping 48 V, and current of up to (1000 W / 48 V ~= 20 A) will fry the thing in no time.

    • @scottwilliams895
      @scottwilliams895 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess the output of those tool LiPo packs might be below 20 A, so maybe that would be your limiting, and possibly protecting factor.
      Still, that motor is gonna release its smoke right quick.

      or I used ride an e100 on 6s Lipo 50C 5000 ( $25-$30-ea) $30 for lipo charger with transformer. You can fit 4-ea in the battery bay...but its the charging time if you dont have enough chargers. ( $100-$125) either way..if dont have those eq already. The lipo will have more power than the lion....However.if you choose 24v lion...you can also use them
      in Powerwheels ( you can get cheap on F,B, market..i have over 10-ea powerwheels $15-$50) My grand kids loves it. ( You cant use 24v Lipo
      on powerwheels. it's too much amps..but 24v or 6s lion are fine)
      For the older kids...I'll basically take parts from the razor and mount it
      on the powerwheels ( 350 watt to each wheel) 24V..12-15 mph..with breaks...The motors from e100-175 and chain drive will work too.
      It'll basically eliminate the plastic gearbox 10-12 mph is plenty fast
      for powerwheels.

    I feel like this is way too complicated and if you’re spending already that much money might as well buy a high end scooter that goes 30mph stock
