To me a good movie and screenplay is something that has great characters that you are compelled to follow. Generic plots doesn’t mean a movie can’t be great, to me it’s the nuances of a film that take a simple plot and make it a blast to watch. So for me that’s what makes this movie great. But good review !

Movie was amazing, to me it's easily the best video game movie and topped the first one by a mile. It was awesome seeing the trio on screen together, almost made a grown man cry.. 😂

I don't like the notion that a Sonic (or a video game adaptation) movie shouldn't be expected to have a good script or good characters. It's a new medium, and IMO should have elements that expand what is hard to do in a video game.
I think personally Sonic 2 still has likeable and great characters and pretty good effects but I do think it's still not fleshed out enough yet. I like they expanded the lore and the third act was great but I feel there's still some restraints given to it to not really fulfill it's potential IMO.
I still think it's better than the 1st, although it's more flawed. Even if the humans weren't as prominent here, it still felt there was a tug-of-war on how much needs to be focused on them. I think they're good enough and the wedding twist helps connect it to the lore.
Overall a good watch but I hope we should expect more from the later movies especially if a certain someone gets added, hehe.
