- Aidan Coleman and See The World win a Wincanton bumper from a near-hopeless position in a quite amazing horse race and a truly remarkable finish at Wincanton.
You have to see it to believe it!
Never seen anything like it in all my days racing. The fact the horse was front running as well makes it even more remarkable. I’ve seen things come from a mile back but not from the front, then stop then make up 15 lengths in 10 seconds!
yeah that is bizarre , I've not seen this. And I'm a professional been betting 20 odd years
As an Australian racegoer, I always am amazed at how heavy and soft some of these English tracks are. Great racing over there
What the English call heavy the Irish call yielding.
Another reason why winx wasn't nothing special, flat firm tracks every race.

Incredible. Reminds me of a recent race I backed, early this year. Can’t remember the horse or jockey but it was a 2 mile 4 furlong race... towards the start of the race the horse in question was being severely ridden along and probably about 15-20 lengths behind the leader, it went off at about 9/2 and shot up in price to 25/1, so I backed it with a £5 punt in race, (I’d seen a 25/1 win a race followed by a 40/1 win the next race a few weeks prior and thought why the hell not, anything can happen!).
Fast forward about 40 seconds and suddenly the horse I punted, fully expecting it to fade and be pulled up, started getting a second wind and caught up, not only that but in the final half mile it stayed on very well and shot past the leader in the final furlong or so. Netting me a cool £130 from £5.
Not the biggest win, of course, I once had £4,700 from a £10 accumulator, back in summer 2017, but still a nice profit on a single race, especially from what looked like a hopeless position.

I won 2pounds in 2012 on one football match . Bet high win high as long as a bookie will take the bet , I spent it wisely

@@samuelperezgarcia Correct, it's known as an "in-play betting market", more common on football, as there is more time for things to happen, but some bookmakers offer it. I used PaddyPower and they offer it.

wow, that horse put in some incredible big hard strides to catch up and win... the power and length was obvious against track conditions.... and following what happened earlier it was one of the greatest moments of horse racing i've ever seen.
That must have been so much fun for the jockey. Losing all that speed and then slowly picking up the momentum down the stretch to win. If only I was 119 lbs.
AP must of thought wtf ? When aiden breezed on by him mugging him on the line more or less, fantastic comeback !

david wack That incident happened in September 2015 at Southwell where he finished last of seven in the final race of the day. Two drunks got into the weighing room beat up Coleman. Two drunk guys and a drunk women arrested, who was interfering when police arrived. This race was at Wincanton January 2015.

Aidan knew he had some horse under him then. I think he's a great rider, was so chuffed for him when he landed his first Grade One on Paisley Park.

Only ran 5 times after that 3 hurdles and 2 chases, form reads, 3-PU-4-3-PU and hasnt races since 2017 never anmounted to anything after this freak performance
Sadly, See The World only ran five more times and never won again. 3/6, PU, 4/10, 3/7, PU*.
*This was his last race and he died away from the track about 15 months later in September 2018.

The travails of the winning horse puts its price out to 999/1 on the exchanges and the subsequent second horse then trades at around 1/999...you can see how easy it is to lose your entire bank
Jon Dingwall just imagine someone watching the race decided to back Sea The World in-running, they would have expected to have been matched at short odds but probably actually matched at massive odds as the horse looked for a second like it was going to be pulled up. As you say quite likely someone blew their bank.
Absolute nonsense. Book makers hate singles. Always and only stake 1% of your betting bank on each bet and then start compounding your 1% stake accordingly to your betting account. I started with a 3k betting bank in June last year (30 quid was my starting stake for each bet. 1% of my betting bank). By the November the very same year I had 90k in my betting bank. Now I can’t get a bet on with any book maker. A decent betting bank of 1k upwards to start with and doing nothing but singles is the way to kill the book makers. Your betting bank will never be at risk doing it like that also. PS always get early prices but never take SP’s. Take care.

You would think this horse would definitely win again, nah, it was beaten by at least 20 lengths in each of its next five races..
Coleman never had any problems with his equipment. He deliberately made his mount go on a tangent so that his finishing burst of speed would be saved for when the last hundred yards came and that is exactly what happened.
I don't blame the commentator for getting it wrong because it was only with hindsight that you knew what happened.
Yes you’d definitely set the pace, go five lengths clear approaching the straight and then pull yourself up and let two other horses go 15 lengths clear and then try and start going again with a furlong left. Said no one ever!

I wouldn't fancy this horse over the larger obstacles, even when he was running on he was all over the place and didn't want to pull up after the finish.
No call for interference when Sea The World originally had all of his problems? Surely the one horse who had to navigate around him was interfered with?

by the time Aidan was trying to get back to race See The World the exchange market at Betfair was getting crazy . 198 bets on 1000/1 were matched against the miracle winner and the easy-money pros of Betfair still blaims the commentator ! lol

He was off to see the world , then he decided to finish the race instead
