    Great playing and tone. I use Helix also. A great piece of gear. Often with a Lawsuit guitar (Tokai) too 😁

      REALLY? Out of all the Les Paul solos and players, this is what got you on board? Yeah, it is amazing, but so are 1,000 mone players out there. You never considered, Slash, Duane Al, D Betts, Page, EVH, Buckethead, Paul Gilbert, Jeff Beck, Alex Lifeson, Eddie Hazel, Randy Rhodes, Peter Frampton, John Sykes and a thousand more to not be up to snuff??? OME ON!

      @@DaveClark-ib6sp I have nothing against any of those guitarists, I've just never been a fan of the Les Paul guitar. They are heavy, badly balanced (in my view) and I've never heard anybody sound better on a LP than they did on, say, a Strat or a Tele, with the possible exception of Peter Green's and Gary Moore's 'Greeny' with it's out-of-phase humbuckers. My preference has always been for Fender, I own both a Strat and a Tele, of which the latter is my favourite ever guitar, and I treasure it like a baby. These are just my own views, and I appreciate we are all different. It's what makes music so diverse and exciting. Cheers Dave.

      That's a Ibanez Les Paul copy. So many guitar companies were making knock offs of Gibson, Fenders and guitars. Gibson wanted to put a stop to this and chose Ibanez, mainly due to the headstock shape and bell style truss rod cover. They put a lawsuit against Ibanez but settled out of court without anyone knowing the exact amount or really what the settlement was. This happened in the 70's. Ibanez changed the headstock to be rounded. The neck was s bolt on neck. Head stock was the only thing that was actually being taken from Gibson. Ibanez had the bridge pickup with out a cover and pickup was it own design neck pickup was covered.

    This guy can play, switches between pickups at correct moment, when changing position or breathing in between passages or licks. This is a Ibanez copy of the Gibson Les Paul. Ibanez made copies from 72 to 77 I believe. The only real thing that was really like the Gibson was the headstock, emblem and the bell shaped truss rod cover. Ibanez came out with the bridge uncovered pickup before Gibson. The body was stacked, rather than 1 piece or book matched. It also has more wood cut away inside. Different hardware and a bolt on neck. But it was a decent guitar. I bought a few of Ibanez copies, the flying V and Explorer. Got lucky on Destroyer, it was a mother of pearl and abalone dragon inlay toward 5he lower bout but at the higher area. Bought a few of their Strat and tele knockoffs just for collecting reasons. I an article about the lawsuit with the LesPaul copy. Receit also. I'm thinning out my collection of 225 guitars. I invested in guitars to play, the love and investment. I knew that the early Fenders, Gibson, Gretch, Martin's, among other various brands and strange guitars would be worth money. Better than putting money in the bank or retirement. I've sold 4 and it's paid really well.

    Do you just work hard on a super light touch or what ?

    • @ClintCurtis
      @ClintCurtis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      All original, in fact the neck pickup only has 1 coil. The middle pos was out of phas so I open up the humbucker, and it was almost falling apart, one missing coil, I put it back in!

    Hello. Nice sound, could you tell a year of this guitar or serial number if possible.

    • @cyberspongethefirst
      @cyberspongethefirst ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Looks like a pre-serial or early serial number model 2351, so some time between 1971 and 1975. They were realeased in '71 but it can't be any later than '75 as it's still got the Gibson headstock shape - in '76 they changed headstocks because of the famous lawsuit from Gibson.

      All the classic players! Plus I grew up on a lot of the modern players like Satriani and Vai etc. So I have a very wide array of influences...and borrow away!
