The problem is the board is all just like him. They are all very left and are not likely to get rid of one of their own. I think the whole board needs to go and get some people on the board that actually ride a motorcycle. There are plenty of excellent business people in this country that ride and understand what this company is all about.
I own a couple hundred shares of Harley. Originally purchased my shares in 1992. The last couple of years I've voted no on all the board of directors. Also vote no for the executive compensation plan, stock plans and no on the independent auditors. Sounds like they recently back tracked on the policies - I don't trust them to follow through.
I see a lot of Harley riders saying, "if you don't buy stuff from companies that have gone dipshit, then you will have nothing". I ride a Honda, so I don't have any skin ($$$$) in this Harley game, but here's what I know from experience. If you let your dog/cat shit on the floor and never punish them for it, they will keep doing it. If you let your kids tare stuff up in your home just because they want to, and don't punish them, they will keep doing it. If you let companies keep shoving this woke shit down your throat, and don't punish them, they will keep doing it, and more companies will see them getting away with it, and they will do it to. It's not a BRAND thing to me. It's simple cause and effect. Everything WOKE is shit. Bugs for meat? All EV vehicles? Letting criminals run rampid while locking up people who just defend themself from the criminal? If we allow companies, and countries, to shove this shit down our throats, then we will SOON have nothing WORTH buying, and no country worth living in. P.S. Not siding with the DEI stuff, but it's ironic that their customer base has been perfectly fine with HD shoving the fake biker wannabe culture down everyone's throat all these years--leathers, jail tatts, trucker wallets, nicknames, dewrags, no safety gear--pretty much the definition of cosplay--but don't like it when they're actually called out as acting like members of the Village People. The facts are as long as they keep getting away with it, the more they are going to do it. They have been doing this shit and getting away with it too long already, and as long as they keep getting away with it, why would they stop. To stop it, it's going to hurt. I don't like that lots of people ( not just in Harley sales and parts, ) will loose money, it's not their fault that the company got stupid. But as I said in my first post, if they are allowed to continue, what will be worth buying? Do you want to eat bugs? Well I won’t buy anything else HD until that CEO and the board are no more. I’ve spent 60k with that company over the past 4 yrs but no more. He started to expose Jack Daniel’s and they found out and before he could do anything JD came out dropping their DEI BS.
I remember that commercial, loved it. I was in Sturgis and didn’t notice anything about a dead Harley booth, but I’ll say this. I don’t ride 1800 miles each way to enjoy my week in the Dakotas to go test ride new bikes. Shoot, I can do that right here where I live. On the current status of HD, as long as these leftist financial groups have a stake in Harley, the company is doomed. Fortunately there is no shortage of used Harley’s out there.
Harley's first mistake was pushing the whole fake biker wannabe culture. Potential millennial and genZ customers have zero interest. Mistake 2 has been with the product itself--numerous safety recalls, lawsuits, ripoff dealerships, cost of purchasing and owning, bikes sitting for months waiting on parts, and all the US plants they closed. There are horror stories everywhere, look around. People were already leaving. The DEI thing offending their remaining customer base was just the cherry on top. The boycott is ridiculous though, major corporations always have exit strategies, CEO doesn't care, and HD owners have done nothing but tank the resale values of their own bikes. Brilliant. Nothing like paying off a $30K bank note on a bike that'll now be worth $6K when they're done.
It's hard to blame reduced motorcycle sales on a backlash from DEI policies. You have to also look at the federal fund rate soaring since spring 2022 at less than 1% to summer of 2023 at over 5% - this causes loan interest rates on motorcycles to jump as well - which makes a lot of people want to wait to buy that new toy. Especially when the cost of living is up across the board, which also reduces the amount of "fun-money" in an average person's budget.
Sometimes the idiots in charge pick the worst time to make stupid decisions. In 2008 Myrtle Beach passed laws to discourage their Bike Week right before the recession.
That’s a question you should ask the Harley Dealers Association. They are the ones that put on the rally since I think 1949. Black Bike Week or Atlantic Sportbike Association, what ever you want to call it was started at Atlantic Beach to promote tourism there after desegregation along the Grandstrand beach hotels were competing for black tourist. It was started by a group of friends that were riding buddies and formed a club. The rally started small and has become a very large rally.

Took off early today abd debadged my 2007 Road King Custom - it felt SO GOOD!!! I also replaced my timing cover with a blank one off Amazon. NO HD badges on my bike now... feels right. Boxed up, gave away or about to donate everything with HD on it i have put together over decades of riding HDs. Ride on, but take a stand...it's important in this life and the next!

But... I had to something. I couldn't just be silent and accept this woke, leftist, anti American and anti traditional values agenda that corporate HD has taken the company I've been around for decades. 1989, 2 days out of the Army infantry and back on US soil... I bought my 1st Harley... I saved for it for years. I rode that '86 883 basically all over the USA... I've bought 10 HDs over time... untold hundreds of thousands of miles since I have had plenty of times my Harley was the only transportation I had running , snow or ice or rain or whatever. This woke agenda seeping into our culture is because we didn't stand up against the craziness in it's very beginning...and now to have these loonies openly saying they want to, intend to, and work to bring down everything that's been good and right in the world... they can't even be honest about what a woman is... or that America is first.. should be first... anyway..this is too long now. @benodie02760 got rid of my 11ish year old riding vest (honestly it was really needing it) and had a new one sewn up...nothing but my 4th ID infantry patch, name tape, out son's fire dept patch, and some Christian patches...I hear ya on the aftermarket... I spent some time these past 2 weeks and found an independent shop if I run into trouble, bought a Haynes service manual for my TC, contacted and talked with Amsoil for next and future service needs I'll do myself. It's a shame HD loses me... but at this point they do. If they really do a TRUE about face on trying to destroy the brand and traditional values... that would be great, but i'm not holding my breath. Enjoy the miles! I take off for a group breakfast in an hour and then I'm gonna go find some back, empty highway for a few hundred miles of peace, praise, and prayers - and a while lot of smiles! 👊

First just let me say to each his own. You do you. I rode Harley's in my early days and have since switched to Indian. Not because of any perceived wokeness or DEI policies. I switched because of the price. I live in Iowa and can ride my bike about 4 months out of the year. I could not and will not fork out 30-40k for a motorcycle. There are way too many excellent used bikes out there for much better prices. Harley's, Indians, etc. I am boycotting high priced new bikes more than any policies or beliefs. And let's be honest generation Zers are not growing up and getting into the lifestyle and gen Xers are getting older. That's not a good equation for companies trying to sell these ridiculously high priced new bikes. Not to mention selling a $5 t-shirt for $30,$40, $50. You're out of your mind. If you want to boycott great, that's your absolute right. Like you guys mentioned though, It's not just Harley. There are hundreds of companies out there you better add to your lists. And like I mentioned I do ride an Indian and have for the last 4 years without one single problem. It's got everything I could want in a bike. So I take exception to you calling them garbage. Bought my first road king in 2007, bought a new 2019 FLRGU, just sold, loved my Harley's but needed a change. Now I'm upgrading a Kawasaki Concours. Maybe I'll buy again after they fix their issues
Ok this is way off target but might help someone with an M-8. I have a 2021 FLTRK and while on a road trip it started tapping and when I was about 135 miles from home it got really loud. It sounded to me like it was a lifter. I was pissed and ride it the rest of the way home. When I got home it was as loud if not louder. The next morning I called the HD dealership to come get it. To make a long story short one of the spark plug wires had come loose on the forward cylinder. Once it was back on it’s quiet as a church house mouse. 🤬 Before it was put back on the guy who picked it up wouldn’t start it to unload it off of trailer. My bike sat almost two weeks for a loose spark plug wire. Smdh
When Harley is made in another country they will be no different than any other bike. They think they will still be able to charge $25,000 for a bike made in Thailand. I won't be buying one.

Even if they pop the Zit the board won't hire a mom n pop dealer owner who has a true pulse on its customers. They will just get another lackey to do their bidding. Besides the Zit is just going to be the fall guy. This is just a short-term issue easily delt with. Long term they have way bigger issues. 1) No fully liquid cooled big bike motor. 2) They consider 60k a "high mileage bike" at trade in. That alone shows what they think of the product they produce. 3) Emissions compliance in the EU and taking over here in the US. 4) The biggest issue to consider is they moved all fully liquid cooled / smaller bikes overseas. Keeping only air cooled / bigger bikes here stateside. A) Will they split the company. Making making liquid cooled bikes "a division of" Harley. Or sell it off? Easy to do that now with the seperate production lines / facilities. B) Will the Thai side of Harley start making bikes not US/ EU compliant? Strictly for asia/ india type markets? 5) Attracting the younger generations to ride? 6) No 250-600 cc bikes or Buell type sport bikes? Or just stay in their lane with big azz / big dollar "premium" bikes. What I would like to see for myself to buy is a ST style bike with the rev max motor. Also, a bike 2/3rds the size of the current ST and liquid cooled. Something for the 5'-5'6" people. Narrower, way lighter, lower. And finally, something to make you laugh, Will they ever have a "meet the CEO" day at a Harley tent at a major rally? Sadly, those days are long past. It would have been "interesting" this year.
I have been boycotting HD apparel since 2000. They stopped producing a lot of their apparel in USA early2000. I do not buy Harley shirts unless they are 20.00 or less. They started manufacturing most of their apparel oversees which I can understand the cheaper product cost but they never lowered the price to the consumers. I can still get behind the motorcycle due to the fact that they are still assembled here but if they are going to start assembling bikes elsewhere not in the USA they will also loose a client. They have not been The American Legend as they claim for a long time.
How is the apparel better? We are still paying 45 bucks for a cheap t-shirt that costs 12 bucks to make. If they used a quality t-shirt like In n Out it would be different. They charge around 25 bucks for a shirt. Sometimes less.

Here's the thing, you are right about it's been around for a short minute. I remeber talking bout it 10 years ago. Back then it wasn't the Alphabet crew involved. It was just companies forced to hire people based on percentage of race not by skill. Now it also includes the woke agenda of supporting mutilation of our kids. my first Harley was a '68 FLH back in 1971. Been a devoted Harley rider since. After I found out what that gay boy Zeitz is all about and what he did to the Motor Company I've kept my bikes in the garage hooked up to their battery tenders. Zeitz needs to go, the riders I associate with won't be satisfied until the execs do the right thing... for the faithful who pay their wages.

Maybe, in today's world, we all need to let go of belief in anything. I know I won't let go of my love for new HD motorcycles until HD abandons the USA, which they are in the process of doing, but I will still love the old bikes, when Harley was Harley. After they abandon U.S., they will become a diluted company of what they once were. They will go bankrupt and one day they will beg for their old customers to come back. The sad part is, in the interest of worldwide sales they're willing to become something antithetical to what they have always been, all the while betraying their core customers who are viciously loyal.

I like watching you guys and I ride an Indian. I agree with most you said, but I still don't get why some Harley guys have to say Indian bikes suck. They don't suck! I've never had any issues with my Sport Chief and I've done no engine mods and I can keep up with Harley's that have done engine work. So it's a reliable bike, it's a nice looking bike, they are a fast bike, and they don't cost an arm a leg to buy, how do they suck? And I did notice more Indians at Sturgis this year. I don't have any skin in the game, but the Harley CEO does need to go!

I went with Indian three years ago, not because of any woke garbage, but because it’s a better bike (for me that is). After thirty years on Harleys, I was bored with them. No longer bored riding the same bland thing as everyone else. If you like H-D, cool, you do you. I haven’t given them a dime for the past three years, and don’t plan to. Got a more fun bike now.

I own a couple hundred shares of Harley. Originally purchased my shares in 1992. The last couple of years I've voted no on all the board of directors. Also vote no for the executive compensation plan, stock plans and no on the independent auditors. Sounds like they recently back tracked on the policies - I don't trust them to follow through.

I ride a Honda, so I don't have any skin ($$$$) in this Harley game, but here's what I know from experience. If you let your dog/cat shit on the floor and never punish them for it, they will keep doing it. If you let your kids tare stuff up in your home just because they want to, and don't punish them, they will keep doing it. If you let companies keep shoving this woke shit down your throat, and don't punish them, they will keep doing it, and more companies will see them getting away with it, and they will do it to. Harley's first mistake was pushing the whole fake biker wannabe culture. Potential millennial and genZ customers have zero interest.
Mistake 2 has been with the product itself--numerous safety recalls, lawsuits, ripoff dealerships, cost of purchasing and owning, bikes sitting for months waiting on parts, and all the US plants they closed. There are horror stories everywhere, look around. People were already leaving. The DEI thing offending their remaining customer base was just the cherry on top.
The boycott is ridiculous though, major corporations always have exit strategies, CEO doesn't care, and HD owners have done nothing but tank the resale values of their own bikes. Brilliant. Nothing like paying off a $30K bank note on a bike that'll now be worth $6K when they're done.

It's hard to blame reduced motorcycle sales on a backlash from DEI policies. You have to also look at the federal fund rate soaring since spring 2022 at less than 1% to summer of 2023 at over 5% - this causes loan interest rates on motorcycles to jump as well - which makes a lot of people want to wait to buy that new toy. Especially when the cost of living is up across the board, which also reduces the amount of "fun-money" in an average person's budget.
There's no doubt the economy plays a big part in the struggles. But the Harley Haters don't wanna factor that in!

That’s a question you should ask the Harley Dealers Association. They are the ones that put on the rally since I think 1949.
Black Bike Week or Atlantic Sportbike Association, what ever you want to call it was started at Atlantic Beach to promote tourism there after desegregation along the Grandstrand beach hotels were competing for black tourist. It was started by a group of friends that were riding buddies and formed a club. The rally started small and has become a very large rally.

Took off early today abd debadged my 2007 Road King Custom - it felt SO GOOD!!! I also replaced my timing cover with a blank one off Amazon. NO HD badges on my bike now... feels right. Boxed up, gave away or about to donate everything with HD on it i have put together over decades of riding HDs. Ride on, but take a stand...it's important in this life and the next!

I've bought 10 HDs over time... untold hundreds of thousands of miles since I have had plenty of times my Harley was the only transportation I had running , snow or ice or rain or whatever.

I spent some time these past 2 weeks and found an independent shop if I run into trouble, bought a Haynes service manual for my TC, contacted and talked with Amsoil for next and future service needs I'll do myself. It's a shame HD loses me... but at this point they do. If they really do a TRUE about face on trying to destroy the brand and traditional values... that would be great, but i'm not holding my breath. Enjoy the miles! I take off for a group breakfast in an hour and then I'm gonna go find some back, empty highway for a few hundred miles of peace, praise, and prayers - and a while lot of smiles! 👊

First just let me say to each his own. You do you. I rode Harley's in my early days and have since switched to Indian. Not because of any perceived wokeness or DEI policies. I switched because of the price. I live in Iowa and can ride my bike about 4 months out of the year. I could not and will not fork out 30-40k for a motorcycle. There are way too many excellent used bikes out there for much better prices. Harley's, Indians, etc. I am boycotting high priced new bikes more than any policies or beliefs. And let's be honest generation Zers are not growing up and getting into the lifestyle and gen Xers are getting older. That's not a good equation for companies trying to sell these ridiculously high priced new bikes. Not to mention selling a $5 t-shirt for $30,$40, $50. You're out of your mind. Bought my first road king in 2007, bought a new 2019 FLRGU, just sold, loved my Harley's but needed a change. Now I'm upgrading a Kawasaki Concours. Maybe I'll buy again after they fix their issues

Ok this is way off target but might help someone with an M-8. I have a 2021 FLTRK and while on a road trip it started tapping and when I was about 135 miles from home it got really loud. It sounded to me like it was a lifter. I was pissed and ride it the rest of the way home. When I got home it was as loud if not louder. The next morning I called the HD dealership to come get it. To make a long story short one of the spark plug wires had come loose on the forward cylinder. Once it was back on it’s quiet as a church house mouse. 🤬 Before it was put back on the guy who picked it up wouldn’t start it to unload it off of trailer. My bike sat almost two weeks for a loose spark plug wire. Smdh

When Harley is made in another country they will be no different than any other bike. They think they will still be able to charge $25,000 for a bike made in Thailand. I won't be buying one.

Even if they pop the Zit the board won't hire a mom n pop dealer owner who has a true pulse on its customers. They will just get another lackey to do their bidding. Besides the Zit is just going to be the fall guy. This is just a short-term issue easily delt with.
Long term they have way bigger issues.
1) No fully liquid cooled big bike motor.
2) They consider 60k a "high mileage bike" at trade in. That alone shows what they think of the product they produce.
3) Emissions compliance in the EU and taking over here in the US.
4) The biggest issue to consider is they moved all fully liquid cooled / smaller bikes overseas. Keeping only air cooled / bigger bikes here stateside.
A) Will they split the company. Making making liquid cooled bikes "a division of" Harley. Or sell it off? Easy to do that now with the seperate production lines / facilities.
B) Will the Thai side of Harley start making bikes not US/ EU compliant? Strictly for asia/ india type markets?
5) Attracting the younger generations to ride?
6) No 250-600 cc bikes or Buell type sport bikes? Or just stay in their lane with big azz / big dollar "premium" bikes.
What I would like to see for myself to buy is a ST style bike with the rev max motor.
Also, a bike 2/3rds the size of the current ST and liquid cooled. Something for the 5'-5'6" people. Narrower, way lighter, lower.
And finally, something to make you laugh, Will they ever have a "meet the CEO" day at a Harley tent at a major rally? Sadly, those days are long past. It would have been "interesting" this year.

I have been boycotting HD apparel since 2000. They stopped producing a lot of their apparel in USA early2000. I do not buy Harley shirts unless they are 20.00 or less. They started manufacturing most of their apparel oversees which I can understand the cheaper product cost but they never lowered the price to the consumers. I can still get behind the motorcycle due to the fact that they are still assembled here but if they are going to start assembling bikes elsewhere not in the USA they will also loose a client. They have not been The American Legend as they claim for a long time.

How is the apparel better? We are still paying 45 bucks for a cheap t-shirt that costs 12 bucks to make. If they used a quality t-shirt like In n Out it would be different. They charge around 25 bucks for a shirt. Sometimes less.

my first Harley was a '68 FLH back in 1971. Been a devoted Harley rider since. After I found out what that gay boy Zeitz is all about and what he did to the Motor Company I've kept my bikes in the garage hooked up to their battery tenders. Zeitz needs to go, the riders I associate with won't be satisfied until the execs do the right thing... for the faithful who pay their wages.

I know I won't let go of my love for new HD motorcycles until HD abandons the USA, which they are in the process of doing, but I will still love the old bikes, when Harley was Harley. After they abandon U.S., they will become a diluted company of what they once were. They will go bankrupt and one day they will beg for their old customers to come back.
The sad part is, in the interest of worldwide sales they're willing to become something antithetical to what they have always been, all the while betraying their core customers who are viciously loyal.

When you go in for a Double bypass surgery do you want to know the Hospital hired the best heart surgeon they could find or they hire that person because he/she was a minority transgender democrat to check a social issues box?? I like watching you guys and I ride an Indian. I agree with most you said, but I still don't get why some Harley guys have to say Indian bikes suck. They don't suck! I've never had any issues with my Sport Chief and I've done no engine mods and I can keep up with Harley's that have done engine work. So it's a reliable bike, it's a nice looking bike, they are a fast bike, and they don't cost an arm a leg to buy, how do they suck? And I did notice more Indians at Sturgis this year. I don't have any skin in the game, but the Harley CEO does need to go!
I will do I video on why I don't think they are as good as Harley... but I'll admit I have limited experience with them so take it for what it's worth

It really has been interesting watching the TH-camrs who are tied to Harley in assorted different ways make excuses for the company. You guys, Bob and Tam, Pro Monkey. I think I'm getting it. Everyone does it so just let it go. It's just the way it is. And then you wonder why it is the way it is. It's just some a-hole looking for clicks that brought this up in the first place. Interesting thought considering the platform we are all on right now. I bring this up again because I just listened to Pro Monkey on the Grease and Gears Garage show. It kind of pisses me off how he gives Harley a total pass on this. I like you guys. I like what you do. I just don't agree with you guys on this. That being said, I'll keep watching your channel. Hopefully we can just agree to disagree on this one. My previous post on this thread explains why I think Zeitz and most of the board should be gone. My opinion and I'm sticking to it.
I'm not sure why you think we are defending them. Is it because if I don't blow up my bike or sell it, I'm agreeing with them and defending them?? I'm 100% behind people voicing their opinion publicly and on social media and noylt buying there stuff.. but I also think it's in all of our vest interest to get Harley to Understand we the primary aharley consumers don't think it's ok and get them to change rather than put them out of business.. I don't think it benefits anyone for them to fail. Not sure where in this video we gave them a pass or agreed with them !!
P.s. I watched the live on Grease and Gears and whole heartedly disagreed with Monkeys take and the hosts take. I think they were missing the biggest issue. And I assume it's because they don't like addressing the political nature of it!!

The trick is to get the wokesters, for lack of a better word, out of there without ruining the company and costing people their jobs. We certainly agree on that. I just though the video went off the rails a bit and it became as much about Indian, to me anyway, as it did about Harley, see my previous post. Ok here’s my take if it’s a Fortune 500 company there is DEI and they will be helping the woke groups in one way or another the company that I just retired from had training series that was not required but was pushed for all to do but now it’s mandatory. They have these in place so they won’t get sued to death it’s a shitty deal with the world we live in since COVID it was going on prior but it ran crazy since 2020. In my opinion you have to vote be involved don’t let what so many died for be stolen from the rest of us if you don’t want to participate in the greatest place in the world get the fuck out of our country. Harley has a problem because the people with the money and credit are old and most younger guys and gals are not into cars trucks or motorcycles cold hard truths. Harleys are like Glocks with the aftermarket support if you don’t need to have a new one you can re make yours how ever you want many times over. Much respect
I went with Indian three years ago, not because of any woke garbage, but because it’s a better bike (for me that is). After thirty years on Harleys, I was bored with them. No longer bored riding the same bland thing as everyone else.
If you like H-D, cool, you do you. I haven’t given them a dime for the past three years, and don’t plan to. Got a more fun bike now.

As an Indian guy, I’m not thrilled with all the stuff going on with Harley. My brothers ride Harleys, and I know y’all will disagree with me on this, but it’s not what brand you ride, but the fact that you ride that matters.
