Car Buying Hacks - Part 1

- Kia Seltos is one of the most popular cars in the last 3 years.
The company has sold more than 5 lakh cars with 60% coming from Seltos. My dad bought the middle variant 2 years back for around 16L. Very soon the whole city of Mangalore was filled with these cars.
Now the manufacturer wants to sell the new model to make more money.
Have you ever wondered what happens to the test drive cars then? They go on sale at a bargain price.
If you’re low on budget when buying a brand new car just wait for 6 months. The test drive cars will be on sale.
Three things to remember:
1) The dealer will try to pass it on as a mildly driven first hand car. Never fall far that. Always treat it like a 2nd hand car.
2) Do not pay as per the age of the car. Pay as per the kilometers driven. Deduct 1.5 to 2% of the car’s value for every 1000 kms driven.
3) Ask for extended warranty and to fix the dents and scratches if any.
The dealers are very open to negotiation coz they want to get rid of it asap. All test drive cars are not great for purchase. The more number of drivers who test the car the more the clutch gets damaged. Prefer automatic cars when buying test drive cars. Also brake pads would be damaged a lot. Check that out and ask the dealer to refurbish it.

Fans of Sharan are his regional people. These are impractical ideas. Lots of people to buy car for 1 lakh discount.
@wennwenn1422 This one isn't an impractical idea. I got a Skoda Kushaq this way. It depends on the dealer and his willingness to sell the test drive car.
The thing Sharan didn't mention was that you should have an external mechanic check the car, as many dealers don't report exact kilometers when selling a test drive car.
@@hrushikeshavachat900 depends on the car. I went to look 4th gen honda city demo car too. It had discount but not much than a new one (considering it was abused). It was driven around much too. If its demand car they don't reduce alot.
My Point to this video being dealer may give you 80k to a lakh discount but they will never give 2 lakh discounts (unless its a low demand car or 40lakh+ car). Thats the impractical part.
These bs shorts create scenarios or 1 in a million scenario that can be concluded by saying impractical.
@wennwenn1422 I got 2.5 lakhs discounts. Depends on your negotiation skills and the car. In demand cars won't get much discount. Similarly, if it is a Maruti Suzuki, espresso won't get 2 lakhs off. But something like Kushaq may. This is due to the proce of new car.

If spending 10 lakhs is better to spend 2 lakhs more and buy a really unused car. It's like buying a semo laptop for 2 lakhs instead of 2.25k to save 25k. At that point with potential maintenance of the used laptop it is better to put in that 25k more for peace of mind. Same thing here.

Never ever buy test drive/ demo car. These cars are abused by customers, sales person, dealers. We Indians don't respect/ treat other property/ car with care. These cars are usually red lined by potential customers & sales person. Best is to avoid it.

Dude all the refurbishment and warranty is already given by BYD whenever you buy a 2nd hand car from them also you will always get cheaper cars compared to the market in BYD. I got a my fortuner at around 4 or 5 lakhs less. Also, there is no tension of getting scammed as they give a 10-day no questions asked car return guarantee. They can give such affordable cars as they use a bidding system in which you bid on your dream car. Even if you want to return the car you will get money back instantly.. in seconds

I worked in a car dealership and I can say that all of this is only theory... Most of the times the test drive cars are registered as personal vehicles in the name of dealership owners for some reason and they rarely sell the test drive cars... Plus the test drive cars are really abused everyday, so it would be better to buy a year old car from the 2nd hand market then to buy a test drive vehicle
