Hey David, thank you for the update video! We've missed you so much during the time you were away. It's nice to see that you've never let fame get into your head. The industry is fast paced and it can be gruelling, but you should never have to feel like you have to please others all the time. You have a talent which not many in the industry has and that's the reason why we have stood behind you. Keep doing what you want to do and you're comfortable with, rather than what you have to do for the likes of the "higher-ups" and we'll always be there to support you in whatever you wish to do for us or for yourself, sweetie :)

This is an old post but David really cares about his fans to live an update. He was growing up at that time & he was learning to be his own man instead what the label wanted him to be. He had a metamorphosis sort to speak.

So glad you're back and write from your heart and don't worry what other people want. I have loved you since the first song out of your mouth on Idol and play your CD's all the time. Saw you in concert in Kansas City a few years ago and loved it. I'll come to see you again the next time you're in town. I do want to tell you that your Xmas CD is my favorite for the holidays. I can tell you sing from your heart and believe what you're singing. Take care and make more music.

I thought after the missionary, I will finally see him just be happy and satisfied but I still feel like he is still in the search of something in his life. And a true musician doesn't make it about himself. People can make it about themselves if they want but music can also be about service and that's what you are doing. Hey David. I know what you felt lad. We get into a 'rut' trying to please everyone else. All that does is take away who we are.
Lessons I've learnt, if you don't put yourself first, your no good to the people that really matter. I lost the most precious people in the world, to me, my daughters. I have 2 grandchildren that live not 50km from me, but I've never seen them or felt the touch of their little hands. Their mother, my eldest, has cut me out for more than 8 years.
Now, I live for me first, regardless of what others think or feel because those that love me and are precious to me, get the best of me. You have a God given talent, given to YOU. Share that when, how and with whom you want to share it. Then it will be your best and ultimately, it must make YOU happy which means you are sharing a special gift with your listeners, you happiness.

They spend their lives making the industry happy and sacrificing their own morals and happiness just to make a buck and stay in the spotlight. Your music is beautiful and I absolutely hope to hear more from you but it's totally natural and okay that you need to figure out who you are and what you want first! Live your life and don't feel bad about your choices! As long as you're happy, you are doing the right thing!

Finally getting my own space & independence. Sorry for being late to the party David by responding to this vid as of lately now that we're year in 2022. Was just gonna say I'm happy for u for all the accomplishments & progress u made since American Idol till now. You're very talented & have always been a huge fan & always been supportive of u since that time. So happy I finally got to attend to your concert! For the Christmas tour. Hey David! Bienvenido a Estados Unidos! Well, take it slow. After a mission the transition can be overwhelming, especially to someone as famous as you; maybe try to find a balance between overwork and doing nothing...usually people choose one or the other so just take things as they come, don't add to the pile that wILL accumulate on its own. I recommend Tyler Ward, Kurt Hugo Schneider, and Lindsey Stirling as some self made successes who can help you with video production, music,etc. Well I guess that depends on whether you want to be a more of a performer and less of a TH-camr or a hybrid of both like the aforementioned people. Patreon is a new way that more and more artists are using to finance their music through fans and fans alone, and I recommend it as a great way to do what you want without unwanted interference. Bueno espero que has leído ese parafo porque solo quiero ayudarte como puedo. En verdad como fan no puedo hacer mucho hasta que unes a Patreon...en pocas palabras no sabes que tus fans de verdad escriben con sus corazones. Cuidate mucho, sigue adelante con Dios! :) :)

IF he is gay, I'm sure he has a lot of inner turmoil going on. Since he's so intertwined with the Mormon faith he was raised in, coming out would be exponentially harder. I can imagine he would feel a sense of shame and think he's disappointing a great number of people if he comes out of the closet. He is a great talent, and seems genuinely kindhearted. Please be true to yourself David, gay or not. Be your authentic self and happiness will follow.

Viviian G I think other people are getting offended for the simple fact that, whether or not he is gay or not, it should be his decision to tell people and he shouldn't feel like he's forced into it because of what others are saying. It's the same thing that Lance Bass and countless other celebrities went through when there were so many rumors swirling about whether or not they were gay. They felt pressured and self-conscious about coming out and confirming their identity to a bunch of strangers, especially when it's so taboo and especially with someone who is so into this faith, it has to be difficult seeing so many people saying that he's gay when he's been raised to believe that it's a sin. Just like you said, no one has the right to judge how he lives his life....therefore no one has the right to judge him to be gay or not and shove him out of the proverbial closet if he doesn't feel ready to come out, or in fact, doesn't even need to come out because he's straight.
David you are the best. I love the fact that you went on your mission. What a great example you are to our young ones. As you speak that, :you are back from your mission", I can still see it in your eyes that the spirit is still with you. By the way, my little one is on her mission too. I know all missionaries are great blessings. As a convert, I am grateful for Missionaries.

Hi Izzy, David came in second place on American Idol, Season 7. and if you have been following his career, Janice Kie he has been in the limelight since he was very very young. He sang in the Mormon Church as a little boy and performed with his Mother. He won the Junior Star Search Competition show at age 12. He has performed in public ever since.

you need to break away from that church mentality. you have a very beautiful voice. sing something that's not religious in nature once in a while. actually produce an album that will be heard by everyone from every background. your religious beliefs are holding you back. i know you aren't completely happy. you need to face your fears and just let it all out. :) love you.

David, Thanks for the update. I am at a similar place in my life. It is hard, when for years you have wanted to please other people and have misguided beliefs about what it means to do so. But as you mentioned, you can't "make" everyone happy. When you do start to explore who you are (and not what others think you should be/are), it is hard to switch that thought process. But please know, that when you are you, you shine. That is what makes your music so beautiful, and why people value you. I've found that when I stop trying to please people, and instead try to experience the present moment with that person, I am giving them an even greater gift. Your viewers will be just as happy when you start sharing your love (of life through music, volunteer work, etc). Best.

David; Super glad you're back in the states and glad you enjoyed South America. Haven't been there since 2009 myself (visiting family).
