Your take on the EA taking credit for Mira's melanin pack is interesting. I looked at it as super ironic seeing as how Mira mentioned she couldn't make herself in game and made the pack so she could only to end on a challenge where she had to make herself with the game's skin tones that don't really represent her. It's a little messed up 😅

It’s definitely ironic! And given that this was a year ago at this point you would hope EA would be rethinking their swatches a bit

Nice that you aren't afraid to be critical of EA, it is refreshing. You are so right about them seeming to take credit for Xmira's creativity...i knew something was weird about that section but you hit the nail on the head.

One of my favorite things about having been a sims fan so long is that I remember the days when EAxis was still kind of a faceless entity to the community, for better or worse

In so many ways it could have been a toss up! I’m glad you enjoyed my review

You’ve probably seen it since recording this, but SimGuru Lindsay issued a statement saying they are going to fix the skin tones first up (the dark ones are super pixelated!), and work on introducing more. I’ve really loved watching your reviews. I agree that both entries were excellent. I couldn’t pick a favourite, and they both made me teary. Each had an edge in a different way (I thought the transitions between voices/phases in Cowplant’s and the “she’s playing Sims” edit in Llama’s were both very clever pieces of editing/storytelling.) I did find it weird that they never said which judge voted for what. Like, in the previous part they went through the tortured count of votes for the split decision, and if this was also a split decision, why forgo the drama? 🤔

PS Do you think, with the benefit of knowing which team would win, the show’s editors spun stress in Team Llama into drama so that they could have the “underdog team triumphs” narrative?

I’m glad you liked these videos! I always appreciate your comments as well. I’ve seen the statement! I’m glad that they actually shared the concrete steps they’re taking instead of just an affirmation. I wonder if they didn’t want any of the judges getting hate for who ultimately won? And the contestants not ultimately knowing might preserve some working relationships. I do think they played up the disagreements in team Llama, but the other teams were made up of people who seemed to already be friends or at least friendly acquaintances, while I think Team Llama didn’t have much of a relationship between them at the beginning, which did probably lead to a rockier experience at first.
