If anyone is on the fence about paying the subscription, Jonny is the real deal. Serious player and theory master. I've been playing 40 years, most of it professionally and I learned enough in the first couple days to pay for it.

This is my favorite OP video. He demonstrates so many different piano styles--effortlessly. He plays with the strength of an NFL lineman, and sweats like one too. Thankfully Niels are Barney are there to allow a sweat break. Jonny, your skills are amazing too. This video is worthy of more videos if you had time.

This is a great analysis and explanation of Oscar's approach to improvisation. He was the greatest of all Jazz pianists in my book also. I am so fortunate to have had the pleasure of seeing Oscar on many occasions at his performances. The best ones were at Baker's Keyboard Lounge in Detroit which was a small intimate setting where patrons were able to sit up close to Oscar and the trio (some tables were within a few feet of the low rise stage).

I thought I'd be annoyed at the frequent interruptions with explanations of what was just played -- very good quick analyses and demonstrations, by the way -- but I actually didn't mind the breakdowns immediately after hearing a run! Your explanations were quick and concise, and I liked being able to view that top keyboard that shows the names of which piano keys you pressed! So we could see your fingers AND read which piano keys you pressed, which was kind of fast if we just had to look at your fingers. I also liked that you told the chord progression he used which was slightly fancier, and the smooth diminished passing chord between dominant 7ths. I enjoyed watching this and will study it more. Wonderful. I look forward to the next one!

I liked that analysis, explanation and demonstration of style and technique very much. Peterson is my favorite jazz pianist too. One thing that he could do that amazes me is play any improvised lines an octave a part using both hands. That is, he appeared to be able to execute anything with his left hand that he could do with his right.

    I have a doubt:
Oscar thinks in chord changes on a blues progression? I mean, playing on key of F, when he plays Bb(IV chord) or C (V chord), he plays Bb or C major blues scale or minor blues scale instead C blues scales for all chords?
