Dealing both the single and double deck with ease. Learn the secret that few people know. Nothing to buy, its right here, for the folks that want to deal like a professional.
I’m a craps dealer who made the transition to CA and had to learn all the card games. Kept this video in my favorites folder and refer to it occasionally to tighten up my game. I appreciate you and your craft. Thanks again.
You are awesome! Most of my colleagues at the moment have 30+ years of experience, just like you,and you all seem to make everything you do look so easy, clean and fun...but the years and years of practice always show!Thank you for the good advice,I will do my best to put in the effort needed to learn the proper way!
Great video Dennis! I'm a dealer myself as well as a traveling magician. Pitching/sailing cards can be super fun. Our casino started using a shoe on double deck and only in high limit is the hand held pitched used. Unfortunately only a few of us know it! Great tutorial I want to show to others because we definitely need more dealers on it!
Dennis, I watched this video and I'm really impressed, it helped me a lot and your right, you do know what your doing, you seem like a real pro, I don't know much and I'm taking classes at the casino I work at to be a dealer and I'm glad you stressed game protection as much as you did, being the most important aspect.
That is awesome! You really know what you´re doing. I´ve been dealing for about 6 years but i´ve never dealt BJ with a single or double deck, always with a 6 deck shoe. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Hey, you likely dealt me Dennis! Anyway, I had read Prof. Thorp's 'Beat the Dealer', which I read and then practiced card counting. My buddy and me would ride our cycles down to Vegas, then play cards all nite. When I'd figured out dealing seconds, I'd practice in front of a mirror for hours, until I could not only do it, but noticed a slight swishing sound when done (I had better hearing then). Later, I mentioned to one dealer that the top card was getting a little 'dusty'. He just smiled.
Great tips. I noticed that when you went to get the cards you only had a single deck and I did that with relatively ease, but how do you do with a double deck without losing any cards while you are picking up the cards?
@BeauLeeman Yes I did deal at the shoe... As for peaking etc. I can change a hole card and a few other things but never did them on the game ... hard to do them to me...
Hi Dennis, Did you ever deal at the Horseshoe Casino on Fremont Street downtown? I used to go there in the 60's, and sometime play blackjack all night long. I did learn from watching, how to peak at the top few cards, and deal seconds (or even thirds), while holding the deck nearly vertically. I saw one dealer who would peak at the top cards (thumb motion seen), while pointing to the player and asking "want a hit?" Not that you did that Dennis, and the ones who did, did it only on occasion.
Hey I have to ask where did you get your black jack table? It looks nice. I just checked on ebay, but they have them around $1200-1500. While they look nice, but I do not want to spend that much. Or is that the standard price?
there are three positions you hold the deck in. the last position is the one you use when picking the cards. you hold the deck with your ring finger and pinky. look the video over again ... your ring finger sort of curls around the front of the deck..
Great technique for pitching cards. 'Elbows' in is the trick. I've seen many dealers look like they're trying to fly. My only issue is that as a UK trained dealer, I dislike this American style of Blackjack. I don't like it as a Player or as a Dealer. Pitching cards is for Poker.
