Sorted Ammunition is also a very good Smoky aug, I have been using that in the past, it gives you a guaranteed crit every 4 shots, and also -10% reload time, so you shoot faster. Also tip for autocannon: it's worth using with hornet/dictator, because crit damage isn't reduced on it, so it can put out crazy dps with the overcharge (or whatever its called) effect

I dont know why tanki, or anyone else, is mentioning the fact that unlike other turrets smoky has increasing critical chance. Each hit increases the chance of you getting the critical chance, and paired with status augs, smoky turns into status turret.

Russian (which i believe has more updated data, might be incorrect) wiki shows static chance of critical chance for every turret, even thunder with its aug for guaranteed crits, the only that doesnt have static crit chances is the smoky. But page about damage mentions that increasing critical chance for all weapons. Im going to message the tanki support, will post what they say about that.

The wiki page for damage states "For most turrets, these parameters (step and maximum chance value) are constant, but there are turrets for which these parameters can be upgraded;", so yes, the growth of smoky's crit is its feature, but it hardly gets attention, even in wiki. I've checked all the pages for turrets, and yes, its static for every turret but the smoky (railgun has an interesting behavior regarding its penetration, but otherwise its still static) So yes, smoky is the only turret with crit chance growth.
3:57 was a good exchange with Pulsar - 1st crit he was not able to get a shot off, 2nd crit you negated his shot while he was charging up. I'm wondering if Stun would have the same effect but would occur more often since it is only a single-effect augment
The smoking cannon has always been underrated. In 2021 I played it a lot, got some rare changes and I say: when mk8, with the help of a good drone and conservative plays, you can get excellent results
Fun fact: Smoky was my first Mk8, and it is a really easy turret to master. I hope I have jammer shells for smoky, idk cuz it's been 3 months since the last time I played on my main account, but I'll hop back for halloween.
I wish they would nerf the critical chance for Smoky Pulsar, its augment I fear to go against, very annoying. Looks like you don't have Sorted Ammo, that is decent with -10% reload and more critical hits; but if the other team has armadillo then it isn't as good. True, most players don't use smoky protection compared to thunder/rail protection and I like to use Smoky sorted ammo or Thunder strict ammo to get those annoying critical hit kill missions. One problem with smoky is a nice versatile medium range turret, but long range it sucks. Anyone know an effective combo to knock out those elite striker vacuum? They are usually hard to hit like up high on a ledge or cliff; hard to hit to disabling them by that time they just explode a missile above you and eventually you die, 1 problem.
No one had prots because it sucked compared to the others. (This is coming from a once upon a time smokey main). If you compared smokey with no prot to other turrets with no prot, then it would be pretty low if not dead last on killing time.
Smoky was always my favorite turret back in the day. It felt so satisfying to get chip damage on tanks across the map
