Twiggy, when I started your videos, I was living in Colorado Springs, then I lived in Mexico for a couple months, and a few weeks ago I found a place here in Leavenworth, Washington (the little Bavarian town you show in this video). I'm loving it so far and plan to settle down here for a good long while. I've intentionally been spreading out your videos because I don't want them to end. I hope you do another big hike in the future for us to live vicariously through. I'm still hoping to do the PCT next year, and I'm trying to get in as many hikes as possible to prepare.
Hello Twiggy, You have such a great talent for making such captivating videos. I'm 69 years old, stuck in a wheelchair, even though you have me sitting on the edge of the seat, enjoying all the awesome scenery you have amassed in your wonderful adventure. your eye for nature scenes, such as the cute little creature carrying the twig, was so cool. I watched it 3 - 4 times trying to figure out what the heck it was. Washington certainly has many awe inspiring lookouts to boggle the imagination. Thank you so much for showing the beauty of this state that I no longer can physically travel to. You are fulfilling my dreams of beautiful places I always wanted to venture to, and experience. you are a gift from god to me. THANK YOU!!!!!!! YOU ARE A LEGEND!!!!!!!
This was the most beautiful of all of your hikes. A friend of mine saw an article about you in an Orlando newspaper. She said she wanted to be you in her next life.
So look forward to your videos! The scenery is almost indescribable! Bob Ross like scenery ! Love your commentary and your enthusiasm! You are one very special determined young lady! ❤️❤️❤️🥇🥇🥇⛺️⛺️
I think I say it every video and perhaps you are tired of hearing it. Thank you for taking the time to take the videos and upload. They are spectacular. They are a blessing to all of us. :)
This was a great episode Janean. It's such a beautiful section. Falling off the log into the river may be the thing you remember the most later on. Our brains tend to do that.
Lovely video! So ... when are you making the move to Washington? My father used to visit Washington with his dad. He vowed that he would one day move there ... and ... about 50 years later ... he did! I certainly can understand the attraction. One suggestion: DON'T wait 50 years!
Magnificent, beautiful, beautiful scènes. Thank you for taking the time to film, and show us your country and animals 🐿️🐹 (Nice slow overviews 📽️). I'm so surprised that your body made it all those months 🤦incredible! Greetings from Holland.
You have evolved over the course of this hike. I see it and I think you feel it too. I am happy for you and think you will take the lessons you learned on the trail and about yourself as your life unfolds. You really soaked in the beauty of the trail through the rough patces and the easier terrain. I shall anxiously await your next video.
You should move to Washington, one of the best states for outdoors. I know almost every PCT trail road crossing. Because my off-road trails cross the PCT at various points. it’s fascinating talking to these hikers that started 3-4 months earlier and come from other countries to do this trail Oh and September -October is when the bees in Washington come out to look for food for their hibernation. They get super aggressive.
Good Sunday afternoon Janean. What can I say? These videos just keep getting better and better. - but that's to be expected from a strong and talented offgrid woman such as yourself. The video is evocative of the poem "The Four Seasons" by Cecil Alexander" "The fields are rich with daffodils, A coat of clover cloaks the hills, And I must dance, and I must sing To see the beauty of the spring. The earth is warm, the sun's ablaze, It is a time of carefree days; And bees abuzz that chance to pass May see me snoozing in the grass. The leaves are yellow, red, and brown, A shower sprinkles softly down; The air is fragrant, crisp, and cool, And once again I'm stuck in school. The birds are gone, the world is white, The winds are wild, they chill and bite; The ground is thick with slush and sleet, And I can barely feel my feet. The last is done, the next is here, The same as it is every year; Spring -- then sunshine ' autumn ' snow, That is how each year must go." That being said, thanks for sharing a tour of your wonderful life homesteading on your farm - and of course, always stay in touch. 💖😍🌼🌻
Hi🙂‼ Normal good upload from you 👍With normal high standard of capture 👍 You make traversing all these mountain passes look as easy as falling off a log ‼ These place look great in summer while "on holiday" perhaps not so good in winter from the point of view of getting to work ? My experiance was Spain which is great in summer not so good at -11C with snow drifts blocking the road ‼ Anon ⁉ Braveria dose not actually look like that but its a brave try though 💯👍 Wonder what the little animal was you wanted to take home ?! Don't think it would have liked you doing that ☹ Looking forward to the next one( we really do need to fill in that gap💯) 🤩😍🤗😚
"Day 151: The Pikas have now accepted me as one of them." You saw quite a few, and from what looked like fairly close even if you were zooming in on them. Usually they're a bit more bashful.
@@twiggyhikes WOW I am impressed. I guess it is really the smart move since if you don't do it now then you may never find the time or energy to come back out and do the missing piece. Was your original plan to NOT complete the missing segment during this trip?
Videos like this make we wonder why anyone is still sitting at home? If you´re able to walk, get out there and start walking! Even if it just a mile per day, start walking!
Yep that’s exactly it. I wanted to finish at the Northern Terminus. Unfortunately while I was busy finishing Oregon the Northern Terminus closed for fires 🙃
@@twiggyhikes That's bad luck. But anyway, love the movies, tons of respect for what you did out there. I wish I had your courage, but at least I started planning!
@@twiggyhikes Sigh. It was also a tough year to get through Oregon. I met only one couple on trail who made it from the CA border continuously to Timberline Lodge. Seems like 2022, everyone was jumping around due to fires. The PCT gets trickier every year.

I was trying to figure out what that creature was too. It looked like a mythical creature with horns! Thanks so much for following along 🙌🙌
This was the most beautiful of all of your hikes. A friend of mine saw an article about you in an Orlando newspaper. She said she wanted to be you in her next life.
That’s the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard 🙌 Tell your friend I said hello 😊

The Hungry, Hiker Kathleen, trail name Token who lives in Washington. Might need a asst. coach. look her up.
Awesome, I might do this section of the PCT, too. Can I just ask during what time of year you did your hike? Thanks!
March 22- September 21! I was in Leavenworth late August. I hope you get to hike that section it was beautiful!
WOW.... how did you get up there...helicopter.....
heading back to Oregon? are going back to finish those other miles that you had to skip due the fires?
Yep! I wanted to fill in every mile I reached due to wildfires before reaching the Northern Terminus so I flipped back down to Oregon mid-Washington 😊

25 miles omg

@@twiggyhikes Do you think you wouldve completed the long walk, if you hadnt skipped the fire zones?
