As we expand our programs to more communities, the need for a United Community Car has never been clearer. Our mission serves 13 counties across Northern Nevada, and our dedicated staff travel over 1,357 miles monthly to activate vital programs for those who need them most.
Take, for example, our United Readers program. This program is the cornerstone of our early literacy efforts, helping children in our community achieve crucial literacy milestones. Last year alone, 95% of students in the United Readers program demonstrated a full level of growth in their literacy skills, a testament to the program's profound impact. A car would enable us to extend this program's reach, supporting our staff in their efforts to collaborate with mentors, students, and educators across the region.
Similarly, our Nevada Ready! Pre-K Program offers free, quality pre-k education to families who otherwise could not afford it. A car would enhance our capability to train childcare providers, evaluate and improve educational quality, and guarantee foundational learning opportunities for every child.
