One of the best surströmming videos I have seen on TH-cam. You try it seriously and without a bucket for vomiting or any other nonsense. Your video was 10 out of 10!
You rised finnish "rally english" to whole new level 😅 Our rally drivers are very thankfull! Mutta hyi saatana, mitä moskaa, on teillä rohkeutta! Mä huutoyökkään jo pelkästä kuvasta.
@@Temuttaja22 yeah your language has a strong influence over the way you speak english. By the way the girls have uploaded another cool and funny video👍
Your twos commentary is still always so great. "I like all the fart smelling cheeses" "It's supposed to smell like piss" hahaha. And it would have been great if you intentionally gave your sister a prop knife that was never going to cut that tomato. The defusal around 7 mins was phenomenal too. Glad to see you two still having fun and putting out videos
Coming from the area of Sweden where this insane tradition have it's strongest seat I can confirm what some people say. It doesn't taste as bad as it stinks. The taste is just repulsive, the stench is undescribable. Kiitos for uploading!! Greetings ruotsinen!
There's a reason the Finns prepare this outside, and I got to thinking that I can't remember when I ever gagged and then proceeded to eat the thing that made me gag. You are both braver than I. Bon appetite.
hello from Texas. that was hilarious. what fascinating accents you have! i have only ever heard the hydraulic press channel guy and he is Finnish also. the way y’all roll the r is awesome! I can’t even do that it regular American accent.
Love the channel! You are both soo funny! Love the chemistry between you both! You should try haggis! Scottish "Delee cassy" haha. Love from scotland! Keep it up!
In Finland there is a little bit similar food as haggis called _"maksalaatikko"_ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maksalaatikko liver casserole eaten with lingonberry jam as a condiment. While it's nowadays made with rice, traditionally it was made with barley groats, which are not so far from oatmeal used in haggis. It is one of the casserole dishes commonly served in Christmas dinner although nowadays it's available year around. Some other Christmas casserole dishes include turnip casserole _"lanttulaatikko"_ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lanttulaatikko and sweetened potato casserole _"imelletty_ _perunalaatikko"_ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imelletty_perunalaatikko which could be compared to "neeps and tatties" served with haggis, So they probably wouldn't be any shocked about haggis.
As a Swede I can inform you, that this is NOT a swedish delicacy...it may be swedish cultural food from the north..but this has nothing to do with the word delicate and I can assure you, I never seen in my entire life, seen any swede eat it..but its fun to see people try on youtube..
Hello from England! I came from your TikTok channel because I liked learning Finnish words and immediately subscribed because this video was so funny! You should try making Stargazy Pie! :)
2 lovely, brave, happy Finnish ladies who will make me smile every time I think, dream (nightmares) about Surströmming. Love the Snoiku ? comment at 13:17 "..oh, you're an innovator". Well done ladies, you put many many men to shame, including me 😁
I love surströmming, the potatoes have to be warm and then skip the creme fraiche , tomatoes and dill. Eat it on tunnbröd if you find the hard tunnbröd choose it, so, bread butter warm potatoes fish and onion. Drink beer and if it’s party have some vodka. Enjoy!
The fish sticks :D I'm so glad you're removing the entrails. I've seen many people who try surströmming without doing that and of course it tastes awful then
I grew up in the village where they make Oskars surströmming, another famous label, my girlfriend when I was a teen worked there for the summer, you could smell the surströmming in her hair for the whole summer, no matter how many times she washed her hair. 😅
I've lived in Scotland for over 2 years + 10 other countries. The Finnish black sausage (mustamakkara) is slightly better than haggis, in my opinion. I wish you visit Finland one day and make your own oppinion and let me know how it was. Much love to Scotland!
@@samulimaunula5208 wowsers thank you for replying, the haggis description is right but it is encased in coo (cow) stomach. 10 countries? jeebus. amazing. i lived in Bermuda for aboot three years, it was great because there was all sorts of different cultures, people from all around the world live there. apart from americans ? not a bad thing. i must have mustamakkara .finland is my new have to go . fuck iceland wi there shitty volcanos that disrupt flights, haha.
I tried the exact same Surströmming when i was in Sweden: 1. The can is thicker than other cans. I litterally broke the can opener and had to use a swiss army knife to finish the job. That wasn't fun at all. 2. The smell is pretty bad, but the worst part for me was the consistency og the fish itself. It had like a fizzy texture from the fermenting process still going on 3. These girls are batshit insane for opening this can inside their actual appartment 😀 I guess you can move out for a while
I love it when you both are filming together, Do you like Star Trek? Would you both dress as Klingon Women warriors please. I think you both would be very good at that.
You are both hilarious 💀and inspired me to order a can of surstromming 😅 I’m a fan of fermented foods and consider about fermented herring for a while. It is the time 🫣
Try norwegian Rakfisk. It is also fermented fish, but its trout. Smells very bad as well, but it's not so strong. Might be hard to find there though, because it needs to be kept in a fridge.
Kräftskiva and surströmmingsskiva is about same time of the year. Finaly i see some ones who try to eat it as it is supposed to. When eaten right its actually good. And as many other foods we eat at feasts is old ”poor mans food”. Se halve many traditions around that. For me at age 40 its party food 😂😅
Surströmming actually exsist thanks to Finnish people. The story goes that some Swedish fishermen by accident fermented some barrels of fish and then sold it to some finnish people living on an island. And the next year the finns wanted to buy more of the delicious fish they bought last year. And that made the production of surströmming to start.
Fermented fish is an ancient tradition, but outside of Scandinavia I only know of sauce varieties. You also eat it in Norway and Iceland, so that means it must have been around at least since Viking times.
your a new youtuber but a fun one..and i love your spirit, the inglish is not the best but we understand you,, Fun to take your sister in your vids,, Half of the swedes and rest of the world dont like surströmming...its an old tradition in whinter to stay alive.. "I can't smell anything" are famous last words.
Or "wadda fuck is that smell?"
It’s refreshing to see someone try it the correct way, and not just put an entire fish straight into their mouth. 😂
I rewound the video like 6 times when your sister says "I can't smell anything" and then immediately dry heaves. The look on her face is priceless.
Finally someone has the IQ to gut the fish before eating it
IQ? 2 grown ass woman cant open a can. Also no need to debone as they are soft and gut juices are the best part.
and eating it the right way. Im so glad to see this
lack IQ to use a can opener tho.
