    If I had a 3-d printer I’d buy all your plans. Your machines are amazing. I’m a huge fan of RC and always been a small engines guy (see profile picture) and this is absolutely amazing. You’re brilliant and you have a certain skill set that a lot of people strive for. Keep up the amazing work.

    I had a comment on one of my videos yesterday that I should hook up my greenworks 13Amp electric corded snowblower to the plow on my riding mower. I've had that thought myself. I think it would be neat to make an electric snowblower than can slip on overtop of a plow very quickly. You can plow when you need to plow and when its better to blow, just slip the plastic blower on and go to town. I think electric snowblowers could be a common thing. I had my doubts about my electric snowlbower, but I made a sliding hill on my flat yard that is 15ft tall already. Your new one is only 7" short on both sides to being the same as a typical plow width. You would have wings 7" wide on both sides that guide snow into the auger box and make it 42" wide. We can test it out on my rider if you want otherwise I might make a video doing the mod with my greenworks and just power it with like a 1500watt inverter. Cool stuff!

    You might consider adding a floating mechanize to your design. Most snow clearing equipment has a feature to float the blower or the plow. It keeps the operator from having to adjust all the time. Basically it lets the hydralic lift bleed pressure off so that the plow stays on the ground. Where you have the lift for yours on a linear actuator you could add a cable to the end that allows you to release tension on the lifting mechanism.

    Have you tried the baking of PLA vs using ABS for strength? I am tempted to try that over going through the difficulty of printing ABS. There is a shrinkage adjustment to do when printing...

    • @thegreatestmoo
      @thegreatestmoo  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have never used anything by ABS so I'm not sure. Shrinkage for sure, but only matters on the CNC aluminum parts to line up with the ABS parts. The whole thing shrinks equally so it all lines up.

    Noticed you can turn augers on and off without getting frozen up, like the smaller one. Mine will always freeze if i turn it off.

    Hint. From old timer. Run an oval path down the outside then make EASY turn back up middle then same easy turn back down again.
    Progressing into center (going down) and progressing from center to
    outside (going up)
    That way it will be non stop plowing. Thats the way farmers do fields.most effective/efficient way.

    I'm thinking the best way to use this if you don't want to go out in the cold way not not put a camera on then use cell phone as a monitor.

    This is amazing, I can't wait to order one. Just a thought... Since you have to continually raise and lower the blower attachment manually, have you tried letting it rest on the ground naturally? Obviously you need to be able to raise it, but what if that could be dis-engaged, letting the blower just fall and ride the ground? Just a thought, I'm sure that would pose its own set of obstacles, and it would get caught on things here and there. But it might make for an easier time keeping the blower riding along the pavement. Curious what your thoughts are on this.

    • @thegreatestmoo
      @thegreatestmoo  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey that doesn't work at all, the very first mini blower prototype I made was like that and it simply rides up on top of the snow and misses it all. The auger too helps it climb up the snow. It needs force to hold down. The 2X KAT can supply around 55lbs of downwards force on the blower with its current setup.

    • @MikeErickson1082
      @MikeErickson1082 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thegreatestmoo That's really interesting, I didn't consider the auger 's rotation as a factor. I suppose something like springs pulling down on the blower might help here, but even just having it be able to engage and dis-engage the raise/lower mechanism would be way more complex. Thanks for the reply!

      28" wide, almost out for sale, the KAT will be listed before the blower, by about a week or so gap.

  • @skipperskipper2936

    Also never plow or blow snow against the wind.
    That will cause your driveway to fill in quickly with drifting snow.

  • @skipperskipper2936
    @skipperskipper2936 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Try not to plow / blow snow to the up side of a hill. That will cause melting snow to run back onto driveway and freeze.
