    It's great that even the entry-level stuff is getting good. When my dad started getting his home gym together in the early 90's, the affordable stuff was really weak and prone to failure. Many of my challenges and early injuries were because the equipment was so bad. I also can't count the number of times I got slivers of chrome in my hands that peeled off the spinlock dumbbells.

    You can put Olympic sleeves on this which helps to minimize movement of the plates. Also easily added a pulley and handle on each side coming off moveable pins that turn this into a DIY functional trainer - allowing chest fly etc.

    I have this rack and it works great. Regarding the standard plates… just add some Olympic plate sleeves and then your plates won’t move around on the lat pull-down. Also, I store my 45lb plates on this rack with an attachment they offer. I wish they would come out with more accessories for this rack since so many people have this.

  • @Jositoooo
    @Jositoooo 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Y’all should make a video acknowledging how great prices are right now! You mention this rack being $300 at the time due to inflation…I just got it for $249! And the Flybird bench everyone said was a good buy at $150, it’s now $111. I got some CAP 45 lb bumper plates for $34!! That’s cheaper than *used* iron plates. It’s crazy after getting so used to products being like double the prices mentioned in 1-2 year old videos. I guess I picked the right time to build a home gym, seems like I paid maybe 40% less than what it would have cost for the past few years. (Of course I also just bought a house at 7% interest for 2x what it would have cost 4 years ago, so you win some you lose some 😂😅)

    I bought this Squat Rack in early 2020 right before the pandemic started, so having had it for a little over 3 years now and using it consistently I will tell you it is an amazing starting Rack. I still have it and will actually be purchasing the Lat Pulldown attachment for it soon. I am far from being a rich person by any means, so having an affordable Squat Rack like this has been great. The only real downside to it is that I wish it were a little wider like mentioned in the video, as when I try to re-rack the bar after doing squats I've nearly had my fingers crushed as the j-hooks are so close together and I can't bring in my arms any closer. Which is why I started using a safety squat bar instead and things have been fine since then.
    Happy Lifting!

    What a coincidence! For space reasons, I had this whole setup purchased in March 2022 but only had the rack itself. Just a week and change ago I finally got space and added the lat pulldown and fell MORE in love with the rack. Adds way more stability/less wobble, and far as the standard holes, Amazon has a ton of cheap olympic sleeve adapters-- I got a PAIR for like $12? Works great! THanks for the idea of putting the leg lock for lat pulldown lower and use for Bulgarians! This is why I love this channel: doesn't matter if its a $300 rack or a $4,000 rack, you always go in depth and show off versatility so all viewers and buyers get the most of their purchase!
    Would like to see a review on the Hulkfit/BalanceFrom (same umbrella company) rack with cable crossover setup. I think the lowest I saw each piece was like $220 for rack, $240 for cable crossover and it seemed interesting. Prices change a lot though, but would be curious to see a comparison of that versus this Fitness Reality for the best budget rack and cable setup, and in review show off exercises you can do with them, even if you make recommendations for cheap Yes4All accessories. Thanks Coop and GGR team!

    I purchased an ER Kang squat rack with lat pull down/ row attachment because that's all I could afford at the time. The hole diameter was .89 inch, so I purchased a 1 inch step drill bit to make more holes and add better attachments. It's a pretty decent entry-level rack, but I'm saving up for a Bells of Steel rack next year!

    I have this rack and like it. Weight storage - I took the arms off of a floor stand and bolted them on the bottom sides of the back uprights to hold my 35s and 45s. Put arms on the sides top to hold my 25s and lower. bought the rack in 2018, then the lat pull down 2019. I have the landmine attachment as well. It's still holding strong.

    The Major Lutie and ER Kang racks with the built in cable system, are the best value out there. I say this as I have the ER Kang cable system rack and have been using it for 10 months. The Only difference in the Major Lutie and the ER Kang cable system racks is the ER Kang has laser cut numbered uprights where the Major Lutie has no numbers on the uprights. Both are nice but I like the numbered uprights so I got the ER Kang rack. It's not the biggest or the best but it is the best value out there for someone who wants a power rack and a functional trainer. Biggest con is they are plate loaded but I don't mind that so I'm very happy with mine.
    Can't wait for this review, over the last 6 months I have mentioned these racks to multiple reviewers asking them to do a review but no one has done a review on them yet. Glad to see U are reviewing this Great valued prodoct.

    Hey Coop, and anyone looking to buy this rack. Quick comment.
    Weight storage is pointless on this rack. I have tried almost every configuration with some weight horns and I’ve only found one single spot on the rack where I can add a single weight horn on each side with 45s. Any additional weight horns just get in the way because of the depth of depth of the rack. It will prevent you from squatting or benching inside the rack.

    • @ProflexFitness
      @ProflexFitness ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not true at all - I have 4 sets of weight horns on the Fitness Reality Rack and have no problem doing anything.
      I have the very classic 1980's YORK Milled Weight Plates bought by my Dad at the York, PA Warehouse Outlet Store (Note: It was Not an Outlet Store back at that time)
      4- 45's on the Front Bottom,
      4- 25's on the Back Bottom,
      8- 5's on the Back Top (up at eye level),
      8- 10's on the Back Top (up even higher than the 5's)
      4- 2.5's on accessory pins I made myself on the Front Top
      = 410lbs.
      All this weight keeps the RACK very stable and I also use this Rack to Store most of my other Bars and Cable Accessories: 47" EZ Curl Olympic Bar, Resistance Bands, Hanging Ab Straps, 2 pair Cable Handles (for Chest cable Crossovers, Back Rows), Spud Inc Belt Squat Belt, Olympic Barbell Landmine Eyelet, 47" Straight Olympic Bar, 2- Cable Attachment EZ Curl Bars, Valor Fitness MB-A Dip Bar Handles, 47" Lat Pull Down Bar, Cable Attachment 20" Straight Bar, etc.
      If you find my website, you might find pics of the mods and hacks I have created.

    This rack was my gateway drug into fitness. I got it in 2018 and have now lifted with it for 6 years. It’s got some paint chips but man has it held up well. To get weight storage I ended up buying outside the cage spotter arms and weight horns for the back. This makes it incredibly stable and makes it easy to transition weights to the lat pull-down/barbell on the front. It’s funny though. I’ve got fully expanded power blocks, an echo bike, and other expensive equipment sitting next to my 300 dollar rack 😂

    I have used the Marcy Cage Home Gym | MWM-7041 for the last two years. Not flashy but for the most part does everything I need it to do. It’s a 2x2 frame so not powerlifting worthy in my opinion but I regularly have 500lbs and up in here and it’s not a problem. Only suggestion is upgrading the j hooks, the ones they come with are okay for someone not going over 300. All in all I can attach a lot to it and having a cable system sold it for me. Marcy is a popular beginner home gym brand, I’d give them a review on what’s worth it and what’s not.

    You did the weight drop and rack survived. I'd like to see a strength test on the cables.
    My concern with buying Low priced cable attachments is a cable end eyelet snapping off, which could be disastrous.

    Through a series of events I've wound up with my friend's old roommate's ex's Powerline PPR200X rack. I will say this about lightweight racks, when I do pull Ups or using a nordstick under one of the feet, I can easily move the rack. Not the most stable thing in my gym. But using my barbell as a counterweight, I can easily do Nordic curls, so it's not a reason against buying a lightweight rack

    Sunny health review would be frickin SWEET! I just bought it and love that they offer accessories right off amazon. I got the landmine and the barbell holders for silly cheap! Im super impressed so far and like the look of the boxed out safeties . The pin safeties just look cheap to me 🤷‍♂️. Love the content dude, thank you!

      Pin safeties of 1" solid steel bar. Maybe cheap, but they are plenty strong. Cut up a pool noodle for them and use it for rack pulls to keep the barbell in great shape.

    I have a list of racks that I would like a review on.
    - Synergee Power Rack Cage with Pulley System
    - RitFit Power Cage with Optional LAT PullDown/Cable Crossover System
    - VANSWE Power Cage with LAT Pulldown Attachment,
    - RitFit Multi-Function Power Cage PC-410 CC with Cable Crossover System

    I have the cable crossover/ Lat pull-down version, and some things I would add is that 1. It’s a pretty tight space, you definitely have to position yourself correctly within the rack 2. Getting the barbell in and out of the rack is a bit of a hassle 3. Because it doesn’t have alot of holes, if you have any attachments on it you have to often move things around whenever you adjust the safety bars. Benching can especially be a pain since you have to bench inside the rack if you want any sort of safety bars. 4. I would suggest going on Reddit and finding how they made this into a 6 post rack because if you add weight horns to the rack you will bump into the weights during every exercise lol other than that it basically does exactly what you expect from a power rack

      @Gymgineer ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. You have the double lat attachment from fitness reality? I would love to know what you think of it. Sounds like your listed comments are about the cage itself.

    • @stevenarvizu3602
      @stevenarvizu3602 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Gymgineer it’s honestly pretty great, probably better value than the rack. It’s compatible with the rack so you don’t have to worry, it pulls from both the top and bottom, and the cables are pretty good quality. When you do cable crossovers it’s kinda weird since the cables are close together when your arms are at about 45 degrees it give way, so it’s best to do cable crossovers downwards but it’s still easily possible. It also makes the rack more sturdy and shake less.
      Important info would be that the plate mounts are designed for 1” diameter weights, and don’t come with an adapter so if you want to use Olympic plates you’ll need an adapter, and also it is a bit of a pain to build by yourself, but considering titans single Lat Pulldown without the bottom pulley is 300$, it’s great value

    Review the Titan T2! Most reviews of it on TH-cam were on the old version - now it’s 12 gauge steel and has a ton of attachments; I have almost all of them and my home gym can do basically anything now. It even has monolifts! You can’t really find those on a rack in the “budget” tier.

    I just installed mine and it doesn’t feel smooth at all, I had been hoping to do cable raises using the low cables but when I use lighter weights (I.e) 10-15lbs, I literally have to wait for the slider block to start dropping before doing another rep. I believe there may be something wrong with mine, but can anyone confirm? And yes I have lubricated it.
