- In this charming romantic comedy, three-time Academy Award nominee Michelle Pfeiffer ("Dangerous Liaisons," "The Fabulous Baker Boys," "Love Field") and "ER" star George Clooney find that opposites attract whether they like it or not. Melanie Parker (Pfeiffer) is juggling single parenthood with a career as an architect. Jack Taylor (Clooney) is a commitment-shy newspaper cloumnist who only has his daughter every other weekend. When their kids miss a school field trip, Melanie and Jack agree to share babysitting for a day, resulting in twelve hours of hilarious misadventures with one unexpected twist.

I used to watch this movie RELIGIOUSLY as a child, just had this warm and feel good vibe to it.
I did the exact same thing, recorded it on channel 7 on VHS in Australia, and watched it all the time, feel good vibes, miss those days

Brillant film, a classic good acting. Brings back nostalgia, throwback takes me back. The kids in the film are great, Sammy and Maggie make me laugh entertaining! hilarious!
This movie was a big part of my childhood. Watched with my mom everytime it was on TV, not noticing how handsome George Clooney was.A completely different experience as an adult lol.
We all used to love these PG to PG-13, 90's Drama, Romance and/or Family Comedies. This formula is missing from films today.

This is one of my most favourite movies of all time! But somehow there's hardly a rerun on TV nor cable TV. And the dvd is super hard to find!

Even as a kid that was around the same age as these 2 kids when this movie 1st came out....I was super annoyed by Sammy & loved Maggie. Now, in my 30s...my opinion remains the same.

Love this movie. Pity you can’t find this anywhere online. You can’t even buy it on i tunes or the google store nor can you stream it anywhere. Luckily i have the DVD, only way to watch it.

This was a good movie and it's realistic. Because both leads are both grown songle adults with small children. I always prefer when both leads both have children, and they are both single parents. I can't stand when you have one person that has children and the other one doesn't because it doesn't seemed realistic. No guy in his right mind would go for a single mother no matter how hot she is. But if they both have kids, they both have similar lives and it's more realistic and compatible.
