» is the French title) is a cult movie. As far as I’m concerned, the bit with the kid (« Do you like gladiator movies? Do you like when a dog rubs your leg? »…) is an unbeatable all-time classic. Now « Le cœur a ses raisons » (which is a French Canadian show btw) comes indeed from the same place and has some of the best scenes in goofy comedy ever. This pilot episode is just an appetiser. More incredible characters, insane writing… Just have a look at Brenda (a female character played by the same comedian as Brad/Brett) in « Brenda téléphone à Becky - Faites l’Etoile ». That’s hilarious. I’m still laughing twenty years later.
It's very funny, but it's Quebecois, not French. It's a parody of American soaps which are broadcast in Quebec (Canada) often with dubbing by French actors, so there, they make fun of the French accent a little (so it's Quebec actors who imitate the French accent, which sounds ridiculous to French ears. But this show wasn't broadcast in France).
It's Canadian but from Quebec, the region where people speak French (like Céline Dion). We don't hear the Quebec accent (which is very specific), so I guess it's dubbed with the French accent.
Hi there ! Just to let you know that the guy playing Brett ( and Brad ) Marc Labreche, did some sketches with Lara Fabian in his TV show called : Le Grand Blond , back in the ´90. I´ll try to find you the link. À bientôt !😅
It's a parody of soap TV series like Supermodels. And yes, same absurd humor than Airplane! The main actor (Marc Labrèche) is one of the most creative artist in Québec, and the main actress (Anne Dorval) is accomplished and won many prizes on the international stage. This series is cult in Québec AND in France. The writer (Marc Brunet) turns everything he touches to gold, a comedic genius!
Will you see the following episodes? I grew up with this comedy, and 20 years latee, still excellent! The first episode might be the weaker one. But the rest 🤣! Made in quebec but with a french accent to reach France and also to mimic the precious accent of rich people 🤣
This Canadian serie is pretty fun! i discover it with you! However if you want French humour, there some exemples: Louis de Funès, Les Inconnus, Les Nuls (with Alain Chabat) are great French humorists/humorist bands or more recent "Kaamelot" (parody of King's Arthur legend) or "H" (taking place in a hospital) are great humoristic series
hello from france , if you want see a french comdey , try kaamelott but its very french humour, all in language . its a very very populaire comedy in french
Hello from South France, Uncle D, 🌴🌞 It could be interesting to react to French films and their American remakes, like “Le Père Noël est une ordure" (Santa Claus Is a Stinker - available on Ntfx), which became “Mixed Nuts” in its American remake. or "Intouchables" (available with English subtitles on prime) and its American remake "The upside" for example. Peace, folks. ☮👈😎
I was taking the elevator everyday with Marc Labrèche (Bret-Brad) at my job. The production co. where he had contract with was in the same building. In Montréal Québec, we all know him as a clown but in private he looks so sad and withdrawn.
I love Le Coeur a ses raisons, but I think Airplane or Top Secret are superior because they it's not only stupid jokes, it's smart visual comedy that uses cinema clichés to subvert expectations, creating comedy "Le Coeur a ses raisons has some of that as well but you can feel it is very limited buy the budget so they cannot invent new tricks every scene, it's moe about the dialogs. Les Nuls tried that kind of humor with their comedy "La Cité de la peur"
In French, it looks like it's a "pastiche" of bad American series! Sorry ☺

Brendaaaaaa.

The title refers to a famous Blaise Pascal's quote: "The heart has its reasons that the reason ignores".
To discover the best of French parody, you should try "Les Inconnus".
I have watched this comedy here in Montreal by the way it’s not French but rather from the province of Quebec for years so funny and hilarious ❤😂👌

I loved the "Airplane" films, with Leslie Nielsen, Lloyd Bridges and Robert Hayes 😂
ah sorry, so its CANADIAN? Well Sorry, I was told from someone it was French...well...it kind of it lol

It's French Canadian, produced in Quebec
Well I think it could be from another country - or even another PLANET - and I would still have laughed the same - I thought it was excellent

A great parody of the U.S. soap operas . You will maybe recognise
