Just a note: Once you start getting female lemurs, you can really only keep one male lemur of each species in the habitat, otherwise they start to fight. Love the series and can't wait to see more!!

You've kinda raised my standards for people, it's wild... I've been binging all the zoo series for a bit now, especially when i have trouble sleeping, and they're super comforting. I love how you genuinely try to achieve the goal of having an zoo with little ecological impact but also care about conserving the animals and making it as accessible as possible, even for people with invisible disabilities, like with the path around the lemur enclosure. I know this is just as game but seeing the effort means a lot and makes me incredibly happy. And then you refer to all animals you don't know yet with they/them like it's the most natural thing in the world, it's so comforting and just makes me feel safe and hopeful. And all the tips showing other people who might struggle with the game what to look out for and how to use different game functions is so sweet even though i don't even have the game or really care to get it! Thank you so much for all the effort ❤

Also, fun fact, AWD and hyenas are actually genetically very different! AWDs are obviously canines, but Hyenas are actually more closely related to cats than dogs. If I recall correctly, they're in the same-ish family as mongoose and meerkats!

Don't forget to link the Talk Points to the seating for the African Wild Dogs. I don't think you did that.
For staff training, you can just click the box at the top of their category (Keepers, Mechanics, Vets, etc) then down at the bottom you'll get a Staff Management dialogue where you can click the training up arrow once and have them all get trained with just the one click, instead of having to go through and do them all 1 at a time.

Love your the new Eco Zoo series!! Any of the zoos you build are great, but as someone who studied environmentalism and conservation, this is my favorite so far!
Just a small note: I don’t know if either you didn’t link the seating to the podium for the African Wild Dogs, and/or if guests can even view the speech since they can’t reach the bleachers - they are outside the pathway fence.

Hyenas are actually more closely related to cats than dogs! You see, hyenas are closely related to mustelids - mongoose specifically - which are in the weasel, wolverine, and civet family; and mustelids themselves are *feliforms* (cat-like carnivores)
Though note that hyenas are in there own family: Hyaenidae. They aren’t cats. And they aren’t mongoose. 😌

Just kind of a fun fact, but hyenas are actually genetically closer to cats than dogs, belonging to a suborder of carnivores called Feliformia (which includes cats, as well as other animals like hyenas and mongooses apparently).

Yep dw I pick this up in the next episode as I didn’t realise the anti climb feature I’ve never used it haha! This is how you always used to have to fix it but must have been sorted out in a free update or something 😊

I haven't seen any comments mentioning this so: hyenas are not closely related to canines. They're actually feliformes! They're more closely related to cats than dogs! They fill a similar sort of ecological niche so they've developed similar traits.

0:15 8 months late but hyenas are actually closer to cats then they are to dogs, the reason they look so similar is convergent evolution.

Despite some similarities in appearance, hyenasa and African wild dogs are very different, they look similar due to convergent evolution, but hyenas are not even canines. Their closest extant relative (aside from other hyenas) is the Malagasy mongoose.

I think they were hungry as our keepers were too busy / too many keepers assigned to the same keeper hut but hopefully I’ve fixed that in the next couple of episodes 😊 I put food enrichment in the African wild dogs habitat so they should be fine with just that 😊 glad you’re enjoying the series it’s really great to hear!

Not sure if anyone's said, but if you're breeding for conservation you can always buy an animal of a certain species and add it to your quarantine. Once it's in your quarantine you can then compare mates with the animals in the trade store and your quarantined animals. Sometimes, even though an animal has low fertility or no fertility, if bred with a compatible animal, the fertility outcome can be quite high! Always worth a check cause you can get some absolute bargain animals that appear infertile and actually arent.

I’ve just got a laptop for Christmas and it’s capable for gaming I bought the two planet games coaster and zoo and I’ve binged all these eco zoo episode and it’s awesome I still have a little to learn I tried putting 3 male crocs in the same habitat and it didn’t work too well lol. Actually one of the biggest differences is hyenas are way more closely related to cats being from Feliformia. And African Wild dogs are from canidae being more closely related to dogs

OH! There's actually a pretty big difference between wild dogs and hyenas. Wild dogs are canines while hyenas are so unique they have their own classification! It's pretty hard to believe but scientist reckon its because of a thing called 'ecological niche' where a species evolves to fit in a missing spot within their ecosystem and can take on characteristics of other species! Its why fox's, while being a canine, has a lot of feline features! :DD

Fun fact: hyenas actually aren’t dogs at all and are in the feliform subgroup of carnivores-meaning, more closely related to cats than dogs. That said, they aren’t cats either-their closest living relatives are mongooses, civets, and aardwolves.
