Solid body guitars are electric, but they are also acoustic, and the pickups are amplifying the acoustic sound of the guitar, which improves as it's played and dries. Vibrations from playing a guitar gradually set the grain on a molecular level, which is more important on an acoustic guitar, but an solid body is acoustic too.
So weird I watched your original video yesterday as I’ve got serious GAS for an Eternal strat like yours and then you post this. I’m gonna tell the wife it’s a sign that I must get one! 😂
Thank you so much Mike for these videos on Eternal, your videos inspired me to get a set of timeless 59' pickups and I can't put this strat down ever since, great playing and best demo ever, what you capture on these demos is exactly the sound and your enthusiasm in my opinion is honest and not exaggerated or borne of " my new guitar syndrome". I wish I could afford a 63' repro from Eternal but the pickups alone in the strat i have are the best i ever played through. Thanks Mike !
Aww this is great to hear! They are such amazing pickups, and Dave is such a lovely guy too. So pleased to hear you’re happy with them. Thank you very much for the kind words, means a lot
I absolutely loved this guitar when you were kind enough to host me in August Mike! It’s the Strat that the Fender Custom Shop wishes they could make! Congratulations on becoming a dad mate…I’ll definitely look forward to catching up with you when next I’m in the UK🇬🇧! Big love to you and Laura❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great video and I totally get what you say about a guitar taking time to reach its best. I bought a Fender Highway One Strat in ‘08 (satin nitro finish) and after about a year it felt, and sounded, like a properly complete guitar. Everything about it just blended perfectly - even the pickups seemed to mellow together. I’ve never really experienced that maturing with other guitars to the same extent and I think that’s what makes me a Strat guy at heart. 🎸
So nice! I have a Friedman Vintage S that's so heavy relic'd it looks like either a junk pawn shop guitar or just what it is... a vevy heavily relic'd Surf Green over 3 Tone Sunburst worn down like SRV had played or for 20 years diamond on the rough! It's a beautifully ugly guitar... but in the hands and the overall quality... 2nd to none in my collection. Previously owned by Phil McKnight... he traded it for a Vintage T and I happened to be in the right place at the right time to get that off his friend Dane's hands while vacationing in the area.bOf your every in the area, check out Zimm's Guitars in Mesa, Arizona... just a few short hours from Sedona and the Grand Canyon! Great listening to you playing that Strat, Mike! 🤘🎸😎🐦
Bought a Fender american performer 4 years this August. It's my number 1, by no means perfect, but it plays like butter and sounds like a dream. Had to get rid of a couple of others, but it's the best instrument I've ever played. I wish I could afford another guitar, though, haha
Mike I got a swamp ash, fiesta red with rosewood neck and stainless steel frets strat guitar that weighs 6lbs 9oz hand made for me by Nick Oswald guitars in holland. I got my first teensie weensie ding and I hated myself for about 4 weeks.
Nick Oswald does make beautiful guitars 🎸, I am waiting on my newest from.him soon, been nearly 12 months for this one, but will be worth every days wait
This stat is an amazing guitar and the guys at vintage guitars have done a great job. I don’t anyone else could get the sound that you get out of a strat
The wear on that guitar after a year is remarkable. Mine from K-Line is 18 months old, use it every day, but nowhere near this worn. I guess I have to play more (or maybe I'm just not clumsy enough to keep dropping it)... Haha.
I've got a set in my 73' strat . Totally amazing, and mind blowing. Timeless 59' have that airy killer tone, and the feel is is like velvety creamy butter.
Hey Mike! Apologies if you mentioned it and I missed it- but do you have one of the tone knobs wired to the bridge pickup on your strats? Or do you leave the bridge alone and just have a tone for the neck and the middle?
Hi Mike, great video. Do you have any videos on the basics of dialling in an amp for a good strat sound. I noticed how full you bridge pickup sounded when you switched from the neck. Thanks, Phil

Yeah right 🤣🤣😂

Hahaha definitely a sign buddy

Aww thank you my friend! Yes look forward to seeing you again soon!
I love the tone you get from this strat. It's exactly what I'd like to get from mine. Great lesson yesterday, by the way :)
Aww lovely to hear, thanks Carl

Great to hear, played a couple of friedman guitars, and they are really nice. Great necks.
I got my last ever Les Paul, and now I’m after my last ever Strat.
These things definitely exist

Aww great to hear Joe, play it loud and proud!

Ooh nice! I’ve heard great things about Nick’s guitars. Aww I hear you, but Strats and Tele’s look better with some dings! 😊

Nice one Mike! 👍

Hahaha thankfully I haven’t dropped it yet! (I’m sure it will happen 🙈) It has been played a lot! It’s certainly not intentional the wear.
Congratulations on being a Dad, Mike!
Thank you very much.
Sounds great! What brand of pickups and model name/number have you got installed?
Thanks Mike, these are the eternal 59 timeless pickups

It would be interesting to hear some A/B comparisons with your other Strats.
I’m sure something could be cooked up

Or do you leave the bridge alone and just have a tone for the neck and the middle?
Hi Alex, yes the tone knobs can adjust the bridge pickup, I like that on all my Strats, sometimes you need to roll a bit off
Ironically I have that exact same strat as you mike same colour same everything 😂😂❤
Both have great taste!
Do you prefer it to your cutlass?
The cutlass is a fantastic guitar, but I always pick up the eternal, so there’s your answer.
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day Mike also I subscribed to the channel ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
Aww lovely to hear, so pleased to have you on board.
Hi Mike, great video. Do you have any videos on the basics of dialling in an amp for a good strat sound. I noticed how full you bridge pickup sounded when you switched from the neck. Thanks, Phil
Thanks Phil, I have done some videos in the past on this, will try and do some more. Thanks for asking.
what kind of pickups are on that ? sounds nice and clear
Thanks, they are also by eternal guitars. The timeless 59 set
So new Strat video next week then 🤘🎸🔥
Hahaha 😂🤣🙈
A Strat is a Strat is a Strat...
Not sure what you mean, I've always been astounded at how different various strats are even though they all look similar.
@@pharmerdavid1432 The look does not a Strat make.
What is difference between the eternal and your fenders do you think build quality is better or pick ups
Def the build quality!! It’s one man, as oppose to loads of different ones. It’s all the little attention to details.
I’m just the same but with my les paul
Everyone says it’s the last guitar until the next one. Haha.
😂🙈🙈
My strat says "Probe" on the headstock. is that good ?
😂🤣
I've been playing 50 years this year. Too many guitars not enough (any?) talent 😂
I’m sure that isn’t the case.
Never the last one
🙈
Still missing an SG Michael😮
Maybe! 🙈
It’s cool but the headstock and decal font, color and placement are so lawsuit.
No it’s not 😂
😂🙈
🔥🔥🔥
first
it's awesome. looks better than my cs, would you agree. now i want one, hahah!
I reckon yes, this is better than a custom
Shop for sure! You should want one! Hahaha
