    Good timing Jezel…..if anyone wants to work with Jezel, she is an excellent provider. She did more blood work than all of my regular docs. TY Jezel.

    You are a gift. If all of us had access to your services in general, we might actually see people getting better. Thank you so much and I’m referring your information to several people.

    You’re amazing. I’m learning more from watching your videos than from many lectures at uni. Thank you so much and please keep posting these gems.

    Thank you. A lot of information so will have to listen to again. I've had some of these done but not all, this was a pretty broad list.

      Yes, it is a lot of information, so take your time and take notes. Then bring this up to your provider if you feel you need more labs done.

    Thank you so much for the breakdown of indicators. That was very informative to help educate and advocate for ourselves. I am looking forward to doing the dna bundle ! I believe that will help me so much!

    Hi Doc...and thank you! Thoughts on Gene Sight?

    • @LevelheadedMind
      @LevelheadedMind  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Gene tests have their place, but remember that gene SNPs are dependent on environment as well and just because you have a polymorphism does not mean it is expressing itself. I would do a test like gene sight if I thought that the patient was having excess side effects to medications or not responding to them to check for SNPs of metabolism. It also checks for MTHFR as well and I would suspect that if homocysteine was elevated. However, I would prefer genomind over genesight since they look for more SNPs that have to do with methylation processes and even one for BDNF.

    Wow, this video is awesome! EXTREMELY helpful. Question: what happens if you have too much free testosterone? Any symptoms related to that?

    • @LevelheadedMind
      @LevelheadedMind  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Women are going to be affected by elevated testosterone. They will have irritability, and anxiety symptoms. However, elevated free testosterone has to be looked at in context with total testosterone and even SHBG. Because you can have elevated free levels but not be utilizing it and have low total and high SHBG and even low DHEA. So if I see that, I typically refer to hormone specialist.

    it is great basic lab tests, I developed something similar in my own practice. I check usually some more steroid hormons for anxiety or ocd, but for depression you covered all basic.

    Are you doing a summary of blood work done by primary doctor?

    • @LevelheadedMind
      @LevelheadedMind  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Many primary docs don't know how to read labs for mental health symptoms or don't even order the tests needed to properly assess underlying issues of mental health.

    @LevelheadedMind At what time of one’s cycle should the blood for hormone check be taken? Does it matter, especially with progesteron and estradiol

    • @LevelheadedMind
      @LevelheadedMind  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! For menstruating females, the week before your period is the best time to draw hormones. However, if you have someone who understand hormones and how they fluctuate during different times of the cycle, then it really would not matter when.

    Question: I did just start venlafaxine literally tonight but it gave me the worst stomach ache. (Diarrhea, gas, cramps.) .. i watched a couple of videos on the side effect of it and a few did say these symptoms should subside and not a reason to stop., but question to you and after reading through your services im intrigued to seek more tests and educate myself before continue this road of meds.
    Would this be a smart decision? To stop now and get more labs and dna from you done then do consultation and action plan after.? TIA

      In my practice that is what I do. Look for root causes first while doing therapy. That's the best way if you are not in crisis.

    I'm wondering - if you are currently on medications, does it upset the blood test results? Does a patient need to be free of medications to get useful, accurate results?

    • @LevelheadedMind
      @LevelheadedMind  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Generally speaking, you should get labs while on medication, but vitamin supplements should be stopped 48 hours prior to testing.
