Great Video Brian, Some users may notice that Keep files settings and apps is not available to them if they download say the English International version of Windows 11 and their computer default language is English United States. Yes, I do, but some may have to add this registry key for version updates: - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup\AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU And set it to 1. But don’t edit the registry if you are not sure what you are doing as it could kill your installation! @@ekolog8201
Awesome video. Been struggling with my bios for a few hours now. I was ready to give up when I came across your video. Windows 11 is installed now! TY TY TY
Nice one Brian I have had Windows 11 Pro on my older Ivy Bridge build for some time now and back then I used the method of applying registry hacks (Bypass CPU and TPM version via the Rufus feature) and this is a much easier way of getting Windows 11 onto an older computer. I have had so far no problems in the almost two years I have installed it with the updates but am anticipating that when version 23H2 becomes available that Microsoft will deny access to it. But all the same it has worked as I said for that amount of time.
I just used Brian's guide to revive my old i7 7700HQ laptop, which I'd given up on. I'm cock-a-hoop with it, it seems be snappier with W11 than W10, so now I'll have it as a mobile backup to the full-on desk-top I built last year, and it's getting a new battery and SSD in celebration. Thing is, MS can't very well cancel the use of W11 for older PCs now, or they'll have a world-wide riot on their hands. I see W11 being able to keep old PCs running until they are just too decrepit to carry on, while W12 will arrive in a year or two, with even better security, for the more up-to-date PCs.
I used Rufus to get around the TPM Check etc. My laptop’s CPU was one generation “too old.” win 11 worked fine because I didn’t have money for a new computer at that time. I eventually found a Thinkbook 13s for $400 down from $750 and now use that laptop.
Thank you for the best tutorial I've ever seen on this issue, it might take a lot longer on the installation however, it's well worth it. The best and easiest conversion ever!
Well done on a very clear instructional video to solve a really annoying Microsoft restriction. I varied my upgrade slightly, by copying the Windows 11 iso to another PC on my WIFI network, to avoid filling the PC to be upgraded, with another 6GB of files. I then shared the ISO across the network, and mounted it as, say, the E- Drive, from the Windows 10 PC I was upgrading. I then ran from the CDM window, as the administrator: e:\setup /product server It then installed just as you have shown 😎
Thanks for the excellent tutorial. I'm in the process of upgrading my computers to either run Win 11 or be replaced, this will help with some of the ones too good to simply ditch, but not capable of a regular upgrade. I still don't understand the logic that is making so many computers obsolete
Thank you very much. It works! I am installing Windows 11 by upgrading from Windows 8.1 using the same method, not merely on non-supported PC but indeed a non-supported Mac. I am able to use Windows 11 smoothly on a Mac Mini mid 2011 (5.1) with no problem. This model of Mac not even got a bootcamp of Windows 10 or above but this method works. Amazing and thank you very much.
Thank you! You saved me from having to buy another laptop! I kept getting the incompatibility messages when trying to install windows 11 on my laptop. I got so far and to add the windows 11 files unto a thumb drive, but it wouldn’t load from the thumb drive without the incompatibility error messages or just stalling somewhere on install at some percentage. I followed what you said and copied the filed to the C drive from the thumb drive and everything worked perfectly. I have been thinking there HAS to be a way around this. I seen someone put windows 11 on a 15 year old handheld pc. I knew if I just watched the right video I would get the correct advice. Thanks a million!
Do not worry Microsoft will use any psychological trick to get you with Windows 11, i have laptop's with Windows 7 working just fine, no problems. Microsoft just want's you to buy a new pc and a now license if possible because they are corporate greedy bastar*s. And the tons of junk that are getting installed so Microsoft can use data and other things. Windows 11 also makes computers act like they are working slower, lower fps's than on W10. Why cant they just leave one Windows number and just use Names for releases like Apple does, it would be to easy...... i know.

Brilliant workaround to some absolutely unnecessary restrictions aimed at selling more PCs. We all knew if a PC could run Windows 10 it can run 11. Can we safely delete the "Windows11" folder we created after installation is complete?
Very nice job,Brian. I have already installed windows 11 on my old PC but the screen stuck after 5 to 7 minutes but the cursor can only be moved. Can you please help ? or is it my old graphic card doing this ?
MS will not prevent using W11 in virtual machines for business reasons so there must be virtual solutions which can be interposed between hardware and VM. This is all about revenue and adding difficulty for corporates would be unwise.
If you don't like command line, another method is to open the iso through either mount or explore, open the "sources" folder, find setupprep, right click and make a shortcut to desktop. Edit the shortcut entry "Target" by adding "(space)/product server". Now you simply double click the shortcut you created and you are off and running. less chance for typing errors, and if needed to try multiple times, just run again.

I'm really not to keen to do this, I have done it, and probably will do it for people. I'm kind of a stickler and I like Microsoft's registry key workaround that allows you to ignore CPU and TPM 2.0, but still make you have tpm 1.2, secure boot, uefi, all that, those computers very much deserve to run Windows 11 and keep working.

is it the same upgradring windows 10 to windows 11 using create installation media without using windows 11 installer from flash drive or anything that is usb removable storage device?
I'm really not to keen to do this, I have done it, and probably will do it for people. I'm kind of a stickler and I like Microsoft's registry key workaround that allows you to ignore CPU and TPM 2.0, but still make you have tpm 1.2, secure boot, uefi, all that, those computers very much deserve to run Windows 11 and keep working.
Whats the advantage in doing that way? More secure?
It just closes installer prior to blue screen Installing Windows Server like nothing happened (time 4:49 from video)
Not sure why it's not working on Dell Latitude with Intel i5 6th gen. 😢
Will you get updates as well using this method? I didn't update cause I didn't want to get stuck with windows 11 with no updates
Great video thanks for posting
After the screen on 4:42 after it’s done my setup screen disappeared? How can I fix this?
