For those not realising, heavy handed proc's of your super's melee kills. This is an orb for you that you can use for healing, and proc'ing woven mail after the fights.
Try the bombardiers now! With threaded specter, they are the ultimate shotgun apes counter because it's an instant kill on anyone within 3 meters, and if they are dumb or if you are lucky, up to 6+. My favorite way to start a control game is to grapple as high and as fast as possible to the enemies spawn zone and drop a dodge in the middle of their entire team while they cap the point. It's so fast that they normally think you're a teamate if they see you at all, then your dodge explodes and gets you a 4k
Love it when Mayhem comes around. Break out the weird setups, mess around with lesser used Subclasses etc. I have used it a few times with my Shadebinder learning when to move between cover, light attack etc. Never even thought about being able to abuse Grapples & work out weird places on the map etc. Hopefully I'll be able to play tomorrow! Had a seizure a couple days ago, beat my head real good. Concussion protocol from my doctor haha. Looking at the TV for too long gives me a nasty headache. Need to farm the Rocket Side Arm from Warlords Ruin too!
Sorry to hear about your seizure! I hope your condition has improved in the week since you left your reply. Have you had a chance to hunt down that Indebted Kindness? LegoleFlash has a really deep video about what rolls he chased that helped me identify what I'd want from the weapon, and if you haven't already watched it, I think you'll like it. Best of luck to you my friend!
Bless this is exactly what I was looking for. I'm a fellow last word enthusiast trying to get better at pvp and strand Hunter has been a fav of mine. Gonna be trying this stuff tonight 🙏🏾🙌🏾
About that Mayhem bit, I'm surprised stasis turret spamming warlocks were not on that list, I remember playing some mayhem just for a bounty and I matched against a stasis warlock on osmiomancies, easily some of the most cancerous gameplay Ive had to endure, it was only a single stasis warlock so any more would've probably just had me leave the match, and I say all this as someone who plays stasis warlock in normal pvp though without the stasis turrets, fighting against it when ability uptime isn't infinite is fine to me but mayhem just aint it
oh they definitely are. I just listed the first things that came to mind. While I still think it's cringe to optimize mayhem meta, I have to get the hell over it because mayhem despite that still gives me the fastest practice reps.
@@cammycakesgaming Ah I see, good to know It wasn't just a me thing, only sort of saving grace is that stasis lock is not super common in pvp in general so finding one in Mayhem is a bit rare.
I love Strand, a lot of the getting to mid gameplay is very evocative of a rollout in a more classic shooter like Team Fotress 2 & I am very here for it
It would be cool if Threaded Spectre also worked with the super, but I imagine that’s not the case as it overrides the normal dodge while the super is active the same way Arc Staff does.
Solo players with meta mayhem load outs may be just looking to get the seasonal challenge done as quick as possible, so they can get out of mayhem. That's what I do.
I much prefer the clone to the slam, you can hit your clone with a dart to bend the dart around corners to safely clean up after a close fight or pre-damage a pushing player for a free kill. That combined with it being a makeshift barrier and the radar manipulation makes it too versatile to pass up. This is probably the highest skill ceiling/most versatile class we will ever see in Destiny as a franchise.
Clone is pretty obviouly waaaay stronger. Dive is a lot more fun though and lends more to the aerial playstyle. Also clone is cringe and is likely on the table for a nerf
@@JakeFish5058 I like playing dive and it does have its specific uses but I agree that clone is far stronger. I would prefer that it remains as is since I consider clone to be the most effective direct counter that hunters have to desync teleport melee titans. I don't think reacting to knockout titans is reliable enough to be viable so preempting the engagement with damage is favorable. Smoke bomb or sidearm + bakris were my previous choices but they are less effective IMO. All that being said I still do understand that a nerf is deserved.
I would love to see a similar video for warlocks and using weavewalk + grapples for movement. I can tell the potential is there as a Strandlock main, but I just don't know how to fully tap into it.
The most annoying thing for me in mayhem is stasis turrets. They’re just sooo fckn annoying. You try to go speed, but then just can’t jump or slide or sprint even. And they just get so many turrets, you have to kill 3 before being able to fly in with grapple. And you’ll probably die trying to kill them sometimes, or they’ll throw more while you’re killing it. And it’s just unplayable if more than 1 person has stasis turrets
A fun centric loadout for Mayhem: 1 well, 6 rat kings, 4 kepri sting and 1 omni hunter You can turtle in a hole and spam smoke grenades while sitting in a well, and be completely annoying to the enemy All 5 hunters are on deadfall to deny enemy supers, while the warlock keeps them alive.
I am in an abusive relationship with ensnaring slam because holy shit having 2 options for spacing is ASS. Like i either go no were or like a pixel away from the person so you get no suspend.
They need to buff strand hunter's super durability by just giving it woven mail because I shouldn't be less tanky than a golden gun. FFS I got 1 shot by a Joutunn at full health!!
What are some good cues of when to use your grapple? i find myself tending to only use it defensively as a getaway, and less of a means to get positioning, grapple melee, cool movements, etc.
I always watch your videos, but for this one, I am commenting on this eye-opener video like this one. I do know from the 3 classes hunter strand is skillfully better to go for neutral game. But you level of detail that you explain is out of this world. I thought I was going crazy when I used the super because of my aim, but now that I know it is a different behavior between inputs, makes my day. That blew my mind. Anyway, I am a warlock main but are you able to do something like this, but for Strand Warlock? I am still baffled about the level of detail and complexity this subclass has. Anyway GG and amazing video.
That match on Meltdown was insane! I'm curious how much of your sniping is checking common lanes, anticipating a pattern for certain players, or just happening to see them in time to take the shot? As I try to improve, I'm noticing game sense is the next thing I need to work on and I hope I can get near your level one day
I play on controller as was curious my k/d is usually negative ngl so I often don’t fight high skill players if not at all are there any controller players who in the air alot and if you do you have any tips about weopons, exotic armor, mods yk etc I main hunter btw
And mfs on Reddit or in comments try to say that arc Titan is the best subclass or even bubble Titan when this thing exists. Please. As long as there is not directly an objective strand hunter outclasses by a long shot.
I think this class is really cool, I just really despise how its balanced, mainly how it just takes every hunter subclass identify, and says why not all of it, and then some. It has a potent melee that can refund like solar hunter, which also comes with damage mitigation from void hunter. It has hyper mobility like arc hunters (amplify and blink). It has radar manipulation like void hunter, it has constructs to brake line of fire, like stasis. It has a lethal dive mechanic like stasis, but its lethality is tied to your dodge, not grenade, which is just a faster cooldown. And the worst part, it does almost all of that, at the same time. Idk who cooked, but they put the whole damn kitchen into it, and it makes for a very frustrating experience when you have to play against it. Even the lower skill ceiling meta of threadling spam is just shinobu skip grenades that are green and ping reliant, like wut
I was playing mayhem for my seasonal challenge and some guy was hard pressed trash talking me and begging me to 1v1 him. It shocks me that people like that exist like bro im playing mayhem chill out
I know you prefer threaded spectre, but I think not covering ensnaring slam in a movement guide is a disservice to the movement utility it provides, especially while in super. Good content otherwise.
The super is terrible in any mode other than 6s. The damage resist is practically non existent and the actual attacks of the super are insanely weak for the effort it takes to get close to opponents without instantly dying to teamshots
When Cammy shows you the skill ceiling is the actual ceiling
For those not realising, heavy handed proc's of your super's melee kills. This is an orb for you that you can use for healing, and proc'ing woven mail after the fights.
Is that including the orbs from Super final blows? If so, that's really neat!
yoo i think i seen u on nomads server
That’s why I miss/love bones of eao so much. Having triple/strafe jump would go crazy on strand.
The one thing that could possibly get me to take my bombardiers off
Ok, thx Cammy, this really opened up my eyes on the art of grappling. Time to put the 6th Coyote back in the vault...

Yo! It was really fun to play on your team in that first match in Pacifica. GGs bro!

opening clip nuts as usual
Thanks for making this!

Dude that poor shadebinder getting sniped everytime he pops 😂😂
Hey Cammy. Love the vids as always. The 'shoulder charge', is that an unpowered melee??
Its an extension of the grapple and does not use a melee charge
It counts as a powered melee for the assassins cowl invisibility, at least.
Im not sure, but I don't think it generates orbs with heavy-handed.
@althechicken9597 it works with heavy handed. It works with firepower as well, just not both at once anymore
@@althechicken9597nope it works, it’s coded as a powered melee afaik. Works the same on titan with HOIL

Using Strafe jump at the end of grapple also gives you a momentum boost that Tripple jump doesnt.

Rodeo reminds me of the old aerial Arcstaff combos where you did a little helicopter and got some extra air.

You're UN. Believable, Cammy.
Now have saywallah make a part 2 to this video. He can explain how to be a crackhead strand hunter. 😂
seriously, Wallah takes the skill ceiling of strand hunter and breaks it.

14:27 I run a hunter with the wall hack exotic smoke, mercy melee recharge makes the enemy radar look like battle royale.
The ability to do the grapple thing is pretty weird, half the time you can touch the ground and still have it and some other times it takes it away
It has been a month since you made this and I’m curious if you still think the clone is better after they nerf’d it and now it stays out half as long?
2:04 a grapple is a grapple, you can't say it's only a half
you deserved that exotic
This is a perfect example why I don't use strand. Due to my disability I can't do quick combos and I usually just die trying.
Ngl I need one of these for strand titan
bro how on earth did you get triple one hundreds??????? im struggling for a single one!!

Hey Cammy! Long time fan. You wanna run some games?
Mayhem over momentum control there I said it
Why does every Hunter sweat use that same cloak with a grayed out shaders?
Because in destiny 2 most hunters cloaks aren’t compatible with the fit
Ngl that cloak with the helmet that takes off the hood does go hard, but should make it an actual fit and not just all bland color goober
