ram there are many madrasi communities in karachi till today .. apart from hindu thamils there are many muslim families whose ancestors came from chennai and hydrabad, so dosa was there from british time itself .If you go to england , middle east or us for instance we will see pakistani brothers and their families come to saravana bhavan for veg south indian cuisines.

Just to let you know there are certain regions in South India like Mangalore and Chettinad where non veg dosa (chicken/mutton) are quite common and is actually a speciality....

Assalamualaikum Zia bhai I am from South India Hyderabad, I was happy seeing Dosa in Pakistan. Yes It usually a brkfast in south india and the cost of Dosa in Hyderabad streets is 30 rupees for plain Dosa and 40 Rupees for Masala dosa.
I am from Bengaluru -Karnataka. I can proudly say over city is having a number of Finest Dosa hotels in the GLOBE....like MTR, CTR, Vidyarthi-Bhavan, also I surely say most of Over South-Indian can make different types of super TEASTY DOSAS...

Lovely to see the Pakistani version of the Dosa..I come from the land of Dosa's, Bangalore where we have Dosa prices starting from Rs.40 to Rs. 110 in some places... I'm guessing it's really difficult to find Dosa in Pakistan, as difficult as finding nihari in South India.
No it's not that uncommon (in karachi that is). My mother's side is from hyderabad and we are dosa lovers. I have personally attended dosa-only gatherings in karachi as well. It's just that because people are unaware of what dosa is, they don't know the places where it is available.

This place "Bahadur Abad" in Karachi is named after Bahadur Yar Jang, a famous person from the state of Hyderabad.
Several thousand people from Hyderabad state (now in India) migrated and settled in this part of Karachi.
There is a mini replica of CHAR MINAAR on the Bahadur Abad roundabout, which was shown in this video..

Good effort. Lovely to see that you are enjoying the classic masala dosa. In India too people are trying cheese dosa, noodle dosa, schehzewan dosa etc but the best is the original masala dosa. Masala dosa could be from seventy rupees to two hundred. Depending on where you eat.

Back in 2006, we use to get a masala dosa for Rs. 12 INR.
Now it can cost anything between Rs. 45 - 90 INR in Bombay at a roadside stall.
But considering how selling Dosa in Karachi is a rarity, he's charging an exorbitant amount as there's no competition. Over here, after every 10minutes there's a dosa stall on the street of Bombay, hence the prices are realistic.
He's charging for the exclusivity, not the dosa.
Here it costs about about 1,100 INR :)

Dosa is very uncommon thing in Pakistan I live in Lahore and i doesn't find dosa in whole lahore so this is the reason why Dosa Prices is too much
Dosa and Idli is like roti and rice. Vegetarians eat with vegetable and meat eaters with their curries . Vegetarian dosa became a Resturant food. But meat sides with dosa remained at home . Still you get mutton kheema and chicken dosa in Empire resturants outlets in Bengalurus malls. Also Aapam ( a kind of dosa from Mangalore is quite popular with mutton stew all over Bengaluru and costal Karnataka.

Depends on where you are eating. It can range between 20-150 usually. Indian coffee house offers it around 70-90.offcourse quantity and quality varies. Its a super food. Healthy, tasty and eaisly adaptable to local taste. Like how it's being altered here. Great video.
