Hi Axe, airport food and retail pricing is typically a total rip-off. I've seen a few airports that cap pricing to not more than 15% of regular or street pricing. I didnt know this but dang thats actually a huge selling point for me. I wanted a simple large drink at McDonald's at Denver and it costed $3.78 thats insane. So street prices helps a lot

Perfect timing Utah!! It is opening just in time for the Covid-caused drop in air travel. The old terminal would have likely sufficed for the next 25 years given current trends.

Is the “greeting room” inside or outside of security?
Outside of security. Currently SLC airport is restricting entrance to ticketed passengers only, but I expect that to change very soon.
