- In today's vlog we stay home and take care of some house stuff. Watch Tim do things and sweat a lot! We even found a tree that walks?! (jk it was just Tim) Then we make a Hello Fresh dinner meal and I tell you guys why we don't really love Hello Fresh anymore and why you haven't heard us talking about it much recently. Let us know if you've had similar issues with a meal subscription service.Then we watch the new Beauty and the Beast movie and give our reviews. I have to admit I love the fact that you have projects that you work on every now and then. I'm the same way and seeing someone else doing that makes it feel all the more normal:) It drives my wife crazy but that's the way I roll.
Jenn-I love your cooking vlogs! Regardless of what your cooking, it always looks delish!! A good friend recently tried Home Chef, she said it was awesome. Easy to follow directions, everything was fresh and no hassles with the delivery. I'm looking forward to see what you try next! Good job on the yard work Tim!
Tim, we had the same experience when switching to the yellow "bug lights". I had been begging my husband for years to install a couple of outdoor ceiling fans on our porch near the back door (it's Louisiana, if you want to sit outside during the summer, a fan is a necessity!). When we put standard white bulbs in the new fan kits the flying creatures that were attracted next to the opening into the house were so bad I thought I'll either never be able to use the fans at night or never be able to open the door! He replaced the white bulbs with the yellow ones and wow, what a difference! They provide a soft relaxing light and do not attract bugs at all. Amazing!

You guys actually inspired me and my husband to try something like Hello Fresh when you first started and we actually went with Home Chef. We haven't used it in a bit, but when we were getting deliveries we had no problems with them! :)

YAY for a new fence that take up the humidity in lovely hot Florida. Here in Jacksonville we are supposed to get a lot of rain this week. Haha sweaty butt Tim but his mustache is still glorious. Thank you Jenn for making me hungry! Keep up the awesome work. :)
All that work and Tim's mustache still holds up! (Well, until the end anyway!)

I have had the same problems with Hello Fresh. I get rotten produce at least one every box. I just left them last month. And I started with Blue Apron and I have yet to be let down by them! So maybe you guys could have the same outcome??

Yea, I think it has to do with the heat in Florida and us being the last ones one the delivery route. I hope Blue Apron is better!

I love my vinyl fence...I am sure you will love it as well...zero maintenance unless your panels get damaged
I feel your pain Tim. Just repaired a fence and it was about 90 degrees but low humidity. slept good that night. Nice green glow coming from the pool.

I don't understand what a thunder shirt is. I keep hearing about them but have no idea what they do! My cat's scared of storms. She gets so scared and I'm the only person who can comfort her. Bless her! I'm honoured to be the one she runs to!

I had the same issue with Hello Fresh and got some credits because of it, i have tried nearly every meal delivery service and I 100 million percent recommend Home Chef!
Definitely check out Freshly - meals come pre-packaged and are delish! Saves some time and they can be brought on the go (e.g. to work, travel, etc).
Jen is always telling Tim how cute he is😄😄.

Have you thought about converting your pool to a salt water pool? The conversion cost is high, but the long-term maintenance is very low. Usually pays for itself in 3 years. Just something to consider.
I recently broke up with Home Chef. But I'm still on board with Blue Apron. They are the best. I've been a loyal subscriber for almost 2 years. Their customer service is great, and their vegetarian meals are delicious.
I'm planning to try a few of the other boxes, and I'll let you know if any are good. But for now, can't go wrong with Blue Apron.
Shanon Connelly We dumped Home Chef too. I think every week for over 6 weeks stuff was missing or rotten and they had to issue credits.

I had a few stellar vegetarian and pescatarian meals in the last few weeks.
My household has a monthly subscription with Farm Fresh to You (we live in the San Francisco Bay Area). It's a CSA, not a meal prep delivery, but it cuts down on a lot of produce shopping and I end up meal planning around it.
i've had that piizzzzaaaa-legoland-chief stuck in my head ever since Tim and Adam went to Legoland. Then after your Moana-pizza-musical-vlog I couldn't help but repeat that PIIZZZA over and over everytime we had some. now this video made my day as I'm sitting here giggling about Tim repeating it again. thinking about setting this up as my new ring tone for incoming messages :D :D

Heya :) Fairly new-ish subbie here. Watch your new videos, haven't explored too many of the old ones yet, but this one was in my recommendations on my YT yesterday and even though it's 2 years old, I thought of something: Even though I know that you guys are about to have a bb any day now, but given how Jen said that you guys kept having so many issues with HF and how you both don't like to go grocery shopping, have you guys considered turning a section of your backyard into a garden? Something you guys share with those of us in the southern states (So Cal for me) is that we have an extended growing season, only you guys actually have it better given how you guys actually get that magical thing called RAIN. Lol. You wouldn't be able to have your garden season in the summer like most places of course, given how high of humidity you guys get (unless you grew all your tropical-esque things then), but you could do what a lot of gardeners here in the SouthWest do and have your main growing season in the winter. Idk, just something I thought of while watching this video, just thought I'd suggest :)
I have to say I think these are my favorite vlogs. I just love seeing you and Tim at home doing home stuff. Hopefully we get a bathroom reno vlog soon too.
Similar experience here, had "spoiled" veggies and greens with hello fresh more than 50% of the time. Went back to store shopping but maybe we'll give blue apron a try after reading some positive comments here. Thanks Trackers!!

The notification came up on my phone and all I could read was "why we're breaking up" and I literally felt my heart drop into my feet.
Not a meal delivery service but several grocery chains have grocery pickup! You order online, they put it all together and load it in your car when you get there!
If you just want the recipes, try eMeals. It's a recipe service with a lot of options and you can change as often as you like. It also includes a shopping list that can be specific to the store you use! As a vegetarian it gives me lots of options that are more creative than salad!

We have tried Blue Apron. Good service, no issues with bad/rotten food, but limited recipes. We also received an invitation to try Plated, and it was very good. A lot more selections to choose from each week.

My daughter has been getting Sun Basket, the vegetarian box and she likes it very much. Everything arrives looking very fresh so far. She has gotten 4 boxes, and so far so good.
My husband and I had the exact same issue with HelloFresh. Started in November 2016, had lots of great meals for a few weeks and then the troubles started. Missing ingredients, box not coming, rotten food, charged my credit card without my authorization. I was calling almost every week! We switched to Blue Apron and it's cheaper, the food is better and we haven't been let down yet.
As always another fun and great video. While I don't mind going to the store my roommate has ordered Blue Apron through a trial period he was given from a Family member. Our boxes usually come with 3 meals to prepare and can be set for any size party 1,2,3,etc. I have to say it isn't a bad way to get food and I have never seen anything arrive rotten or going bad. I can say that they uncooked products don't last long in the refrigerator, since it is supposed to be all natural, so they need to be cooked in the next few days after you get them. The recipes are easy to follow and have been pretty good. I even learned the other day how to cook Red Radishes and they taste delicious cooked.

We had the exact same problem with Hello Fresh. Rotten or missing produce way too often. We never had a problem with Blue Apron. Everything was fresh and great recipes.
I love watching you guys going to parks. But I really miss the hanging around the house working on stuff. Some of the best stuff to me was when you where moving in and fixing up your house. Anyways....love watching you guys!

We've been pretty happy with Home Chef. There have been a couple of misses, but they've been been pretty quick and easy with credits. Never had anything missing, and it's been great trying new recipes. I get home earlier than my wife, so I do the majority of the cooking during the week, and each meal takes about 45 minutes tops from prep to plate.
We have been getting the Hello Fresh vegetarian boxes for the past 3-4 weeks and haven't been getting bad stuff for the most part; however, the herbs we get are almost always half brown or have spots on them. Aside from that, it's been pretty good. Sorry that it didn't work out for you guys. Maybe it is where they ship it from other there? Hope you guys find another service that works for you!
Blue Apron and Plated are both great options. My wife and I have been really happy with both.
Tim and Jenn - you guys just made me glad I live in Seattle and don't have a pool! We also don't need yellow lights - very few bugs up here. Our wooden fences last a long time too - we don't have your humidity! But - I'd sure love a few Disney and Universal theme parks in my back yard!
Jenn if you don't like shopping you should try to do store pickup from Walmart Neighborhood Market if you have one in your area. You order everything online and park outside the store. They bring it right to your car.

Hi guys. Sorry to hear about Hello Fresh. My family and I have been using Blue Apron for about 2 years now and have yet to be disappointed. The food and the recipes have been great. I have been extremely happy with Blue Apron and I would definitely recommend them to you. I hope you give them a try. I am glad to see that Bandit is still doing well and I hope that you and Tim ( my husbands name is Tim also, lol) continue to be well. Take care.

Totally agree with you. Blue Apron may work but Publix has some many good options that I always thought I could always get everything there to make a good meal
Blue Apron is a little pricey but they have refrigerated boxes and I haven't heard anyone complain about the quality of their ingredients. You can specify food limitations and they even have a wine delivery option, too.

I use Blue Apron and have never had any problems. The Texas heat hasn't affected any of my food as of yet, it's always been packed well. The recipes have been super tasty!
My parents use Sun Basket and have really been enjoying it. It does all organic and has quite a few different health options.

We went to Legoland last week and I specifically sought out the pizza dude to hear him say that! LOL.
We did Blue Apron for a little while. We never got any food products that were bad but we didn't stay with them for too long due to budget cutbacks. I'd still recommend trying it if you guys want another option. Their recipes are pretty good too.

I tried Home Chef and LOVED it! Had a great variety of meals to choose from every week (9+ options) and everything I ever received was still cold and fresh. They even send you a binder with your first order to keep all your recipe cards in.
I've tried fresh artistry, blue apron, hello fresh and home chef. Home chef has been my consistent winner. Delicious recipes, good quality, and reliable. Blue apron wasn't bad. I just preferred the options from home chef more often. Good luck!

My friend works for hello fresh in London and she spends the whole day getting similar complaints. They ain't going to last very long. We have another company called Gousto which is fantastic. So keep an eye out as it might come to the US x
I use Home Chef. I have had issues off and on with them too, but it is because they grew too fast recently. They give us "free" boxes to send out or a credit for a box. I can send you one.

Hello Fresh drove me crazy because it was the same dishes to choose from over and over. we're on Plated now, it has a lot more options, and if you missed a recipe one week, you can probably try it later on as an encore dish. We tried Blue Apron but they only let you choose certain things and if you choose one dish, sometimes they don't let you choose the other dish you want.
