Beautiful watch! I tried one on in a jewelry store the other day and loved it. I too have small wrists and was surprised at how the size was really not an issue. They designed it well for the fit and feel.
Excellent detailed review. The lumed markers are applied with a very thin silver outline. I've had the SRP777 for 7 months now and it is great. The 4R36 movement runs within 1.5 sec/day. I was concerned about the movement because the 2 Orange Monsters I had with this movement ran terrible and were losing more time with each passing week. The Turtle is great and I've since sold my SKX007 as I believe the Turtle outperforms the SKX in every way.
I have had the srp773k1 for a few weeks now and it's a great watch. Keeps great time and the blue dial and bezel looks great with the bracelet. It's a dive watch but with the bracelet you can wear it as a dress watch too. Some vids say that the face is a fingerprint magnet but I don't find that with my watch.
Thanks for the video. Where I live, Turtles can be bought from online AD's for $200. Amazing value. I consider the Turtles to be the pinnacle of Seiko bang for buck ;)
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews yeah, i was watching this ine last night, but couldnt keep awake (not your fault, a week straight of 3 to 4 hours of sleep catch up) probably gonna watch it today. Although the Sumo, for whatever reason, doesnt do anything for me.
Oh, I never noticed the "swim fin" image of it. I can see it. The sword is actually called a hilted sword though. I just got this watch today. Made in Japan with Arabic day wheel. $161.00
Guy, the 12 o'clock marker is in face a sword. Seiko has done this on a couple of occasions, although I'm not too sure of the history or the meaning. Maybe something to do with the Japanese sword making and heritage? Wonderful watch, just too big!
The black looks better imo. Pity it doesn’t come with bracelet. The horrible X on the dial is needless. I wish Seiko would make a 6105 remake and kept the design as close to the original.
I was looking for a good value divers watch but was put off the SKX by lack of manual wind & hacking. Are these as adaptable as the SKXes eg retrofitting a sapphire? How does is look on a NATO strap?
I swapped crystals on several Seiko watches without a problem. For some reason, I had a difficult time in removing/installing a new crystal on the SRP777. The watch was ruined. For anyone that wants to try it--don't. Send it off to a professional that specializes in installing crystals or ruin an expensive watch--your choice. I've learned my lesson the hard way.
By the way, before I ruined my SRP777 and sold it for parts, I wore it on its rubber strap. The rubber strap is very soft and very comfortable. I'd say its the most comfortable rubber strap I've owned. When I first started to collect watches, I always thought that I need a metal bracelet. But over time, I realized that bracelets are heavy and stiff and will not fit properly all the time because circumference of your wrist will change day-by-day (especially after eating salty foods). Now I only wear leather, nylon, or rubber straps. I have two bracelets, but I barely wear them. Additionally bracelets can get scratched up if you're sitting at your desk all day (ruining your desk and your bracelet).
I am torn between this blue dial Turtle modded with a pepsi bezel vs the PADI version. I kinda like the PADI Turtle but I'm afraid it might look too flashy. Any thoughts on that?
Well done review. I have always like the Turtle, but have yet to go after one. I have had my eye on the SRP787 with the blue and black bezel. Perhaps one day I will sell my SKX and use the funds for the Turtle. As is I think 3 Seiko's is enough for my collection. Looking forward to the comparison video.
I have one automatic watch citizen ny0040 and i would like to buy another but i dont know if i would take seiko turtle or oris aquis 39.5 i like both but if i take seiko first longer i will need to collect money for oris and on the other hand i might like seiko and give up on buyin oris so now I don't know which one to buy first? Great review as always.
Nice review! Lots of upgrades from the SKX but honestly it looks like a stop sign compared to the SKX. Really big and round, but the lug to lug saves it.
I have three seiko's and all have scratches on the hardlex. They are wonderful watches but I told myself I would not be getting any more because of it. This one is quite lovely I might get it despite hating hardlex.. Btw, I don't think you were nitpicking about the strap stiffness. It's an imporant detail and I'm glad you covered it.
You lucked out. I have yet to find a new Seiko Turtle with good alignment with the chapter ring. All three, in three different stores, had alignment off. Also, the bezel alignment was off too (less of a concern for me at this price). WTF Seiko? Stop making watches in Malaysia. The Quality Control is garbage.
Yeah, most Seiko divers I've owned or have gotten for loan have alignment issues. I just come to expect it at this point. It sucks, but what are you gonna do?
The PADI designation refers to any of the special edition Seiko watches made in cooperation with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. There are several models that bare that name, not just the Turtle watch. The Turtle is referred to by that name because of the the cushion style case that resembles a sea turtle shell.
Its definitely not to big. Its a dive watch... Its a normal size watch. I dont like huge watches, an this particular watch is normal. An its my first seiko to add..
Turtle cushion case bro and best way to adjust time a day ahead and spin it forward till it gets to the time u want, probably safest way. Also review between the 6309 7040,6306 and this SRP 77series would be the ultimate Seiko budget watch comparison
When he said, "There are a number of turtles", I said to myself, yeah, 4 of them, Michelangelo, Raphael, Donatello, and Leonardo, duh.
haha, nice one.
So, Funny Lol.....,,,!,,
Mister Nobody you just convinced me to buy a 4th turtle just to name them after the ninja turtles.
Beautiful watch! I tried one on in a jewelry store the other day and loved it. I too have small wrists and was surprised at how the size was really not an issue. They designed it well for the fit and feel.
It's just slightly larger than the SKX007/009. It works pretty well on the wrist for me.
Fantastic detailed video. I have since ordered this watch on the back of this. Can't wait to get it on my wrist. Nice work man.
Thanks for watching glad you liked it.
There's a lot of watch reviewers out there. You're one of the best. Picked this up off of eBay nib $200
Thanks for that I appreciate it and I hope you enjoy the Turtle. $200 is a smoking deal, nice pickup.
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews actually, eBay is doing a 15% off of anything. Legit Seikos come cheap on eBay...just can't beat it.

Thanks for watching and the information.
The shape of the case is what makes it a turtle, so that should not be an issue...
Thanks for watching San.

Definitely a great watch. I was sad to have to return the one that was loaned to me by a viewer. Hopefully I get my own one day. Thanks for watching.
You're welcome and I hope that you get one one day.

Wow that's awesome. Can't touch that price here in the USA. Amazing value.
Glad i came across this review, was on the fence about the all blue turtle, gonna go ahead and pull the trigger on one.
I also have an extensive review between the Turtle, Sumo and SKX you might enjoy seeing.

Another clear and concise video Guy ... Thanks ...
Thanks man appreciate it. I'll have the Seiko Sumo vid out shortly if you're interested in that.

Thanks for the confirmation, I wasn't entirely sure but I thought it looks like something. Thanks man.
So, the dial on this is actually black? Only the bezel is navy?
I have a Seiko Prospex SRP773J1 watch. The frame is scratched. How can I maintain it? Can I change it to ceramic at any time or not?
The black looks better imo. Pity it doesn’t come with bracelet. The horrible X on the dial is needless. I wish Seiko would make a 6105 remake and kept the design as close to the original.
I'd prefer the black as well, but I'm just happy to have had a viewer send this in to me for loan and review.
They are a very comfortable watch to wear ,great value for your $$$$ nice job cu next time.
Thanks for watching, enjoy the Turtle!
I was looking for a good value divers watch but was put off the SKX by lack of manual wind & hacking. Are these as adaptable as the SKXes eg retrofitting a sapphire? How does is look on a NATO strap?
I've never personally done any modifications to a watch but I would assume you can swap crystals without any issues.

SKXs look MUCH better on NATOs than on either the OEM strap or bracelet!
I am torn between this blue dial Turtle modded with a pepsi bezel vs the PADI version. I kinda like the PADI Turtle but I'm afraid it might look too flashy. Any thoughts on that?
Good question. I haven’t seen the Padi in person but I don’t think I looks too flashy.
Well done review. I have always like the Turtle, but have yet to go after one. I have had my eye on the SRP787 with the blue and black bezel. I didn't realize they did a Blue/Black Batman Turtle, I like it. That said, 3 Seikos are definitely not enough for one collection! haha
Try to collect 8 Seiko, they are great!
I have one automatic watch citizen ny0040 and i would like to buy another but i dont know if i would take seiko turtle or oris aquis 39.5 i like both but if i take seiko first longer i will need to collect money for oris and on the other hand i might like seiko and give up on buyin oris so now I don't know which one to buy first? i like to purchase one of this turtles, but I am afraid of getting a fake or mis-align watch. I am from Qatar. please tell me what to do.
Find an authorized dealer that sells them in your region.
Nice review! Lots of upgrades from the SKX but honestly it looks like a stop sign compared to the SKX. Really big and round, but the lug to lug saves it.
I can take a larger overall diameter if the lug to lug length is reasonable, which it is on this watch.
Yeah, I think I'd get the black dial and bezel SRP777, too. The blue looks nice, though.
In the shade the 773 sometimes look black too. Think twice !!!
Dead Monk Good to know. Thanks.
Sounds good ... I have developed a serious Fidgit Spinner addiction as of late ...
Is the dial a navy blue or the same color as the bezel?
The dial and bezel color match pretty closely to my eyes. Might be a slight difference in color but not far off.
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews thanks, it must be my phone's screen. It looks like the dial it's almost look like a bluish charcoal grey.
Could be my camera and/or lights as well.
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews: excellent review mate, very detailed and clear videos. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
Nice video review! ☺
Thanks for watching!
You're welcome! Have a nice day! 👍
Nice watch. I can't wait for the side by side by side. Best regards.
Thanks buddy, can't wait to get that video out. 3 awesome watches.
Great vid!
Thanks Ramon I appreciate it.
I'd have one of these if it had a proper sapphire crystal.
that would be nice, but the hardlex crystal isn't bad. that and there's always the option of having a sapphire installed.
I did not know that it was ISO certified.

Nice watch.
Why is it called "turtle"?
Is it name that? I just know it as Padi diver.
The PADI designation refers to any of the special edition Seiko watches made in cooperation with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. There are several models that bare that name, not just the Turtle watch. The Turtle is referred to by that name because of the the cushion style case that resembles a sea turtle shell.
Tried it on. I think it's definitely too big, and my writs is on the medium-small size, not even tiny, (6.75")
i have 6.5" wrist the turtle is very comfortable to wear
Its definitely not to big. Its a dive watch... Its a normal size watch. I dont like huge watches, an this particular watch is normal. An its my first seiko to add..
Not the case. nice one.

Hour minute is missaligned
Honestly, I like the SKX better, despite its more pedestrian caliber.
I do as well, slightly, but the Turtle is nice.
