We were folding 120,000 door hangers last election cycle and our belts were in worse shape than yours. We thankfully made the deadline before replacing them. We replaced the folding roller belt, but had service do the feeder belt. They scared us saying there was a timing wheel back at the feeder that was delicate and very expensive. After watching your video, I have the confidence to tackle it next time.
Wow, thats a lot of folding! Yes, I feel service guys want to keep themselves employed so fear is often used to keep capable people of tacking these things. I don't blame them though, there are people that shouldn't be taking equipment apart. :)
I saved this video in case I am ever tasked with changing the belt on our T49. I was searching for the proper way to adjust the roller pressure. I normally operate a newer folder with automatic adjustment, not manual. The book description sucks.
Hello your videos are very helpful and inspiring I own a commercial signage and offset printing silkscreen in New York and always see your videos and you motivate me to keep working on this trade I love what I do and see you taking care your equipment is inspiring, I wish you where closer to go and visit your shop, Keep doing it, Idea open a patron account
You turn the dial on each roller to change the roller gap. You then go roller by roller with a piece of paper and set the roller so it just holds the paper.
Tricky to know without watching it run. Make sure the speeds are fast enough to force the paper against the registration rail. The paper is probably hitting something.
I'm the only one. Most jobs come ready to print. So there is little prepress work. Word of mouth and treating people right keeps my customer base steadily growing.
@@justaprinter similar to myself, I was using a 3070xl for the last 2 year's on my own, unfortunately it closed the week before the Irish lockdown. Have you tried printing on synthetics? Kernow or Synaps? They run really well through the konicas and are ideal for Covid posters as they are 100% Waterproof with no need for lamination.
Hi Dan, love your videos. You got us thinking about getting a Konica Minolta printer. There is a c6000 for sale locally with 1.7 million clicks, with PF-602 Paper Feed Unit , High Capacity paper trays , FS-612 Booklet Finisher and Stapler, 3-Hole Punch. What do you think is a good price to negotiate to? It has been under service contract and is in good working order.
Awesome! I've seen them sell for less than $1000 but I think maybe $3,000-4,000 for that might be good depending on how work out the consumables are. To replace all drums, dev, wires will cost $1200, keep that in mind.
I wonder if anyone knows why you have golden colored Christmas tinsel on your folder lol.
I'm so ashamed, I should have taken my Christmas decorations down by now! :)
Thanks for the pin. Today I made almost 4000 books on the ibis. what a day. She ran fast and smooth.
It's actually a effective way of getting static out of highly static paper 😉 your welcome
We just finished replacing the feeder drive belt, just in time to make an important deadline. Your video was invaluable, thank you so much!
Awesome! Glad to help!

Good idea, thanks for letting me know that the videos are inspiring. Thats what I'm going for!
Great video.
Thank you!
Hi. How do you calibrate folding rollers on this mashine?
You turn the dial on each roller to change the roller gap. You then go roller by roller with a piece of paper and set the roller so it just holds the paper.
I run an MOB and have trouble sometimes with it not registering down the right angle to the second fold unit.. Any tips? Thanks! :)

Great sir. I am eager to know brand and supplier of MBO belts and other parts. Can be lifesaver.

Love the channel, can I ask?
Backroom staff? To get enough work I to service your machines, how.many people do you have in sales?

@@colinobrien8547 Yes, I have done some synthetics in the past. They never took off for me. I remember the poly labels had crazy static!

why didn't you clean it all up and get the old belt residue off
Those old belts were falling apart in my hand when I took them off. It was time.
damionloop69 - I'm with you. I was cringing watching him put nice new belts over nasty, crud-covered pulleys.
