Stranded in Armenia

- We visit the Village of Antarashen to see our friends, who've been stranded in Armenia for almost 2 years.
Initially they were living in Yerevan, then moved to the village of Margahovit: now they're renting a Dacha (summer retreat home) in the neighbouring village of Antarashen...located in the foothills of the stunningly beautiful mountains of the Lori region.
At the 5:00 minute mark we interview Piers and Olga to get their perspective of the time they've spent in Armenia. Their responses may well surprise you!

I love watching your videos, want to move to Armenia- hopefully soon ☀️💫🌟
@Armine Geremaia...Thank you!...let's hope and pray that your wish comes true! Armenia needs good people to return to the motherland🙏
Lori is truly the Armenian Switzerland. The road from Dilijan to Vanadzor is one of the most beautiful roads in Armenia. We've travelled there this September and would love to go back any time.
@Greg Arutiunian...yes, it's a favourite region of ours too.👍🙏

@@ArmenianLifewithMitch thank you Sir!
I am Armenian Diaspora from Lebanon living in Lori for 4 years now. This is my favorite region of the country
@WholesomeBookworm...Yes, it's really beautiful isn't it! I'm also quite fascinated by your channel name. Many young people are addicted to the internet, especially social media, so that reading books (printed or online) is the furtherest thing from their minds. It's very sad. I would like to meet you one day to talk about how we can encourage young people to read books. Have you ever thought about going into schools and doing some talks on the subject?
@@ArmenianLifewithMitchdespite being someone who reads a lot I also struggle with social media, so there is a lot I would like to discuss with you on that topic.
@@WholesomeBookwormI'll drop you an email in the next few days. Looking forward to the discussion. Have a nice day🙏
Beautiful village and lovely friends. How is it that Piers and Olga learned about the house they are renting--word of mouth, newspaper advertisement? Are such rentals common?
@judd442009...Word of mouth...from a Russian speaking friend in Yerevan. Actually, I think there are quite a few dachas that would be vacant, particularly in the colder months. So, we've found that "word of mouth" works best here.
Great work Mitch, I like the positive vibe of the lady and the seriousness of the English man, he has a point, which I agree with him, and by the way the shadow cast over the mountain looked like a kangaroo to me more than a dinosaur...lol
@AvoFresno...thanks brother Avo! Yes, we have to wake up the Armenian men and encourage them to start thinking more positively about life and work here in Armenia. As it's written, "Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened to you." Nothing is impossible for Armenians, if we're united with God and work hard for the collective good of our homeland!🙏
I can't agree more...
@AvoFresno...Yep, I see the kangaroo now!😂
...lol...Now we are talking down under...
So that's what the Englishman was talking about? I had a hard time understanding him. It's too bad men in Lori have a very negative outlook on life and refuse to take on responsibility. I'm not trying to be sexist, however, here in the states, from my experience men go to work, but everything else falls on the women. Everything from chores, rearing children, managing households, falls on the women. Men everywhere need to wake up, do more and understand that women are not their mothers. If men in Armenia think life is better elsewhere, think again. Sure it might be easier to have a conventional job. Food is all around you, but at what quality? Yes it's easier to live in developed countries, but your life isn't your own. You belong to the system. The quality of the produce is terrible. I don't remember the last time I ate fruit that tasted as good as in Armenia. We can't breathe here because of pollution. Most people work tirelessly to pay a hefty mortgage, rent, etc. People get priced out of homes in big cities like Los Angeles, so they end up living in their cars or in tents. It's too crowded here! People live like sardines! I live in the suburbs in a house with a beautiful yard. But, I still feel confined! Also, take under consideration how terrible traffic is, specifically in Los Angeles. On average, people in LA spend 119 hours a year in their cars. It takes forever to get somewhere. Let's not forget how unsafe it can be here. Everyone is always angry and I don't blame them. It's unnatural to live the industrialized life and it's terrible for the Planet. So men in Lori and in Armenia, the grass isn't greener on the other side. I'm counting the days where I can come back to Armenia and live the life that they take for granted.
Love you grade mummy 💕🤣😘
@Dj channel...I think you're referring to grand mummy Olga?😀 However, Mrs Mitch is also a grand mummy!
Helooo to amazing Mitch couples and amazing Olga and Piers. All your programs are beautiful from Armenia. Yes Armenia my opinion is much much better than Switzerland because Armenian people are life friendly their hospitality you can compare with anywhere you never be hungry in Armenia you never be no roofing Armenia people are going to help you they are kind people.your life is my Dreaming life my dream is go back to Armenia soon. And Live exactly the same lifestyle like you have. This lifestyle is American billionaire can’t even dream maybe Armenia is not a rich country but it has a rich life which one are you missing anywhere else in the world.I’m getting jealous really jealous to see you living that beautiful village I wish you both couples health happiness you are the right place right time you’re never gonna regret.love you all ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🌎🌎🌎🌎
@Aida Ovasapyan...Dearest Aida jan, your soul seems to be screaming for it's return to the motherland! We can't tell you what to do, but it seems to us that you're definitely not happy living in the States, so what is keeping you there? You can retire in Armenia and live comfortably with your Armenian brothers and sisters. Don't pay any attention to others who might think your crazy. People in Australia probably think the same thing about us, but we have our our own lives to live and we've not regretted coming to live in Armenia for a moment.
We agree with everything you've said in your comment and we know many people considering coming to live in Armenia...and quite a few from America (all saying the same thing as you).
You are always in our thoughts and prayers, so if there's anything we can help you with, just let us know. You can email us via clicking on our picture...this will take you to the 'Home page'...then click on the 'About' section...scroll down to the bottom left and you'll see 'Business email'...click on that and you'll see our email address. Please feel free to write to us.
Love from Mitch and Sonia🥰🙏
Hi Mr.Mitch, just wondering how you copy change right hand drive to left?
@BlackJack K...initially, it was a bit difficult...driving on the right side with left hand steering...but after a few weeks (and several near misses😂🙏) I got used to it. Now, I think it would be difficult to go back to driving on the left, with right hand steering!🤔
Hi Mitch, greetings to you in the name of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. This is Jay from India 🙏
@Jaya prakash narayana... Hi Jaya, nice to hear from you.🙏
