If you make a pair of Regency short stays that will give you the correct bust shape for this dress. That should be quite a quick project. I love the colour of this fabric; it makes a nice change from the white that so many people do!
I love the way you showed thar garment as if you had no idea how it had been constructed 🤪. When you make your next regency dress you probably could make regency short stays before. My stays are still the last mock-up, nobody sees them so no need to make the final ones just yet.

Empire is a difficult silhouette to get right your dress turned out cute though.
