    haven't bought switches in 3-4 years, haven't paid attention as I was content.
    finally doing a new build (qk75) and the amount of new switches is overwhelming lol.
    I have some old lubed/filmed turquoise tealios but the pearlios have caught my eye.
    Was looking at KTT Strawberry, Tangerines etc... Seems zeal isn't as popular as it was when I last ordered from them.
    loved the editing on this video too, was a whole ass vibe haha

    What lenses do you use? Every shot looks so clean and its so nice to see a TH-camr that doesn't put everything in the bokeh. Definitely earned a sub.

    Still crazy that this video remains to be the only decent review of the Pearlios switch lol

    • @noah.2B
      @noah.2B ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah seriously.
      I'm okay with spending premium prices for premium results, but with the pricing and availability issues a lot of these high-end switches face, I'd rather not be my own guinea pig.
      The site is listing them at $10.50/pack now instead of $14, but they're out of stock for at least 2-4 more weeks last I heard.

    • @swordreflex
      @swordreflex ปีที่แล้ว

      @@noah.2B Yup, they'll be OOS for a bit. I'm surprised they actually got that kind of demand tbh. I got them on sale and they are indeed one of the best stock switches I've ever used. I don't feel the need to lube+film them but I'm currently in a long-pole phase rn so just waiting for a better, more premium keyboard to use them on.

    • @noah.2B
      @noah.2B ปีที่แล้ว

      @@swordreflex Hmm, what do you mean by long-pole?
      Unless, I just watched a video about people making frankenswitches by swapping cream stems into other switches, if that's what you're referring to?
      I'm not super familiar with all the mods, I'm considering the Pearlios for this, my 2nd build.

    Came into this curious about the Pearlios, but now I'm more curious about the gateron box CJs which I had no idea existed...
    It's a bit odd to me how pearlio switches have no force actuation curve on their site. that feels like pretty important stuff to me!

    been looking for an in-depth video on this. rather criminal for it to have so little views.
    as a newbie into the hobby (lubed mx silver transitioning away from stock mx reds), what other switches would you recommend that you did not show in the video? was also unironically considering to buy a set of these next pay day mainly to inform myself if these are really worth the hype, but thanks to your input my wallet 'may' breathe better this month.

    • @yourhomiesushi
      @yourhomiesushi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks for checking out my vid! I do think the sweet spot for switches is around the $.50 price point maybe even up to $.70 for some unique stuff so yeah the pearlios are quite above that lol
      As for a switch I’d recommend that wasn’t in the vid:
      I didn’t feature any jwk switches which I wish I did because they are great for the price. I would suggest looking into getting ultimate jwick’s!

    I've had these switches on my keychron q3 for 3 to 4 months, they sound fantastic, and feel butter smooth. But there's a problem with it, which is that the stem is too small (thin?) so that keycaps can constantly come off when typing. I first thought it was a problem with a particular keycap set, but no, it happened to every set I put on (but each with a different degree). I will still use them because I do not like lubed switches and these are by far the best stock switch I tried. Just something I'd like to share with everyone interested in buying them, they are really really pricy.

    • @yourhomiesushi
      @yourhomiesushi  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did notice they are a bit loose, which might be due to tolerances, but also may be due to UMWPE being too slippery (which I’ve also noticed on a few other UMWPE stem switches). Mine don’t actively come off when I’m typing, but they are really easy to pull off with a keycap puller.

    • @kevinc2345
      @kevinc2345 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yourhomiesushi it could also be my typing style that when I type fast, I tend to hit edge of the key caps.

    • @yourhomiesushi
      @yourhomiesushi  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kevinc2345 my keycaps don't seem to slip off no matter how hard I hit the edges, perhaps it is a keycap issue... I've tried both gmk wob and pbt taro on these switches, maybe the issue is with different keycap profiles

    • @kevinc2345
      @kevinc2345 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yourhomiesushi Yes I think could just be my keycap sets, I use one OSA profile sets from kbdfans and one ASA profile set from akko, akko's definitely fit tighter than the one from kbdfans, but still pop off occasionally. I use modified gateron blue switches for caps lock and FN keys, these keycaps never pop off, and is definitely harder to take off.

    When they use the term polished I highly doubt they are polishing the finished plastic part, more likely they have just refined the mould they are made in by using diamond paste to get a mirror finish on all the wear surfaces.

    The factory polish is actually the mould being polished and not the components, so its not quite reaching the standard of polishing with diamond paste.
